Walk 3 minutes + RUN 2 minutes times 6 with an extra 3 minutes thrown on to the last run for a total of 15 running minutes. No complaints except for the tight quad. No glute, hamstring, or ITband tightness.

Just got back from a whirlwind Western Tour: Winnemucca, Lassen NP, Arcata, Redwoods, Ashland, OR, Wine Country, Crater Lake.

Crater Lake is crazy blue!

P.S. I keep thinking about letting Lulu Walls go and moving over to Strava full time. I like maps and charts what can I say! We'll see.

Rode from me casa to the top of City Creek, Kona's first ride to Rotary Park. Pretty good ride considering I was going to turn around at the treatment plant.

Not feeling too horrible from yesterday's BIG run - just the same quad tightness, some moderate discomfort in both plantar fascia (more on the left), and lower leg wonkiness which could be due to my getting used to the Altras or the fact that that was my biggest run in 5 plus months post-surgical fun. I am guessing both were a factor.

Couple laps around Morris Meadows then hiked straight up some trail I had never been on for some 900 feet of gain whoops, which came out to not where I thought it would making me only slightly lost. Ran all the flat-ish sections for a total of about 20 minutes out of 70. Holy crap!

Major accomplishments today, not only did my actual biking miles for the year finally surpass my stationary biking miles, but I also was able to workout hard enough to totally blow up.

Rode from HCI to the top of Millcreek and back, 3681 feet of climbing. I was probably not recovered from my 50 mile ride on Sunday and did not fuel well (was out of gu's so I just ate one Kind bar) on the 3 hour ride today. Nearly keeled over and cried when I had to bike back up to the U. Millcreek was so pretty it was worth it. I really wanted to make it to the top before cars are allowed up there.

Mandatory rest day tomorrow. Too much stoke.

AM: Mega glute and core workout at physical therapy. No hip (or surrounding area) pain from the run yesterday, No complaints, nada, Hallelujah!

Here's what my home PT is looking like these days:

Daily: Hip flexor stretches, supine planks, bridges, lat pull-downs, dead bugs type exercise with heel slides, and lots of rolling.

3-4x Week: Butt burners, clam shells, fire hydrants, squats, "good mornings", and marching with band (exercise band ha!).

PM: Easy evening town ride.

Hiked the Desolation Trail to the Salt Lake Overlook. Ran a mile downhill because it was easier on my legs than walking. A little boy stopped on the trail to wish me a Happy Father's Day. I'll take it :)

5 months post surgery today. Seems like forever ago, yet not. I am definitely ahead of where I was last year at this time and as much as I have avoided saying it for fear that I will jinx something, I think I am fixed.

Evening ride up City Creek to the Water Treatment Plant. Big plans for tomorrow.

I CANNOT believe I can do this! Ran from work to home via the BST for 8.2 miles total with about 5 running. This used to be my favorite run and I haven't been able to do it in 2 whole years. I honestly didn't think I would ever be able to do it again. No complaints whatsoever with the left hip. Right SI joint is out and feels like shiz, but that will get better with time. First run without any of that quad tightness holy crap! Had my poles and Nathan back so my arms and upper back got worked more than my legs.

Seriously cannot believe I did this tonight!!! Especially with the heat, which is oddly not bothering me at all this summer. I think I am just so psyched I can do things that I would probably be out there if it was a 150 degrees and my skin was sizzling off.

Nothing but resting, stretching, and strengthening today. Left hip feels fine after yesterday amazingly. No complaints. Right SI joint on the other hand is super messed up. PT spent a good 45 minutes trying to get it back into place. One of these days it is going to stick...

AM1: Sugar House Relays! A warm up lap around a TRACK followed by 3 laps which I guess is 1200 something (photo below says all) followed by 4 laps around super fast (for me) with super fast people. 

AM2: Had to get the track dust off my trail shoes so I headed up Millcreek for 3 mile hike/run on the Pipeline Trail.  

12.6 RUNNING miles for the week holy crap!
