| | This morning I left the house with Kenzie and Emily for a run. We met up with Genevieve and Maddie in the parking lot, then went for a run. We ran south on Sandhill Rd to the roundabout, where we went under the freeway and across the train tracks. We turned right and ran back towards University Parkway and Wolverine Crossing and continued on that road to the stoplight that takes forever. Kenz and Gen kept running, but Emily, Maddie and I turned right and ran to 12th West. We ran into Trac and Chris! When we ran by the WAC we took a potty break, then continued running to the tunnels and then home. I still have another hour to get ready for school but all I need to do is eat breakfast...

| | Today we did some speed at the park by the Rec Center. We ran there from the WAC as a warmup, which was uphill. So much fun. Our workout was 4 x 1 mile repeats. I ran the first one with my shoes on and hit the time. I felt a little sick, so I took my shoes off and ran barefoot because it was much lighter than trainers. My next 3 I felt awful; instead of getting progressivly faster I got slower. After the last mile I felt better. We did 2 400s, my first was an 88. My second one, Ivie and Jess encouraged me to run with them, which really helped me. I ran it in 80 seconds. I put my shoes back on and ran back to the WAC with Savannah, Caity, and Genevieve. I took an ice bath for 10 minutes then went to Yoga. Now I'm starting my 3 hour history lecture! Yay!!

| | Today we did a speed workout at the park by the water towers. We ran 15 minutes for a warmup then did our drills. The workout was 5 1200s. It was a loop around the park then up a hill and onto the road for a little bit. We did 2 uphill, then started at the top of the road for a downhill. Then did one more up and one more down. On the last down we were all thirsty, so Coach picked up a hose on someones front lawn (they had a BYU flag so it was okay) and we all drank. After the 1200s some of us took our shoes off and we did 2 400s just on the grass, then 4 strides to look at our form. We did a 5 minute cooldown before heading back to the WAC for ice baths and study hall.

| | Today was speed. I ran a 15 minute warmup with Kenzie and Darian around the frolf course and back to the track, plus some more laps. Our workout today was 8 800s. I remember doing this same workout last year in high school thinking it was the hardest thing ever, but today I had a better attitude and worked hard the whole time. We split the girls up and I worked with Shea, Celeste, and Aisha. My first one was my fastest, and we did 1 lap between each one. They got harder and harder but I kept a positive attitude. Tim told us to take more recovery and my times stayed more consistent. I finished all 8 without quitting or complaining, then ran a 15 minute cooldown with Darian, the same loop as before. Since weights was moved this week to Mon and Wed I went in and did my hang cleans, pushups, crunches, RCLs, medicine ball drills, and bench dips. We did coconut oil calf massages, then I took a 15 minute ice bath at 52 degrees, then Spencer dumped more ice in on me :( anyways. Now I'm in Study Hall waiting for Brenden to bring me a poptart before Yoga. I love Yoga!

| | Today we didn't have weights or practice, so we were supposed to go on our own group runs. After class and study hall I was with Chuk, Nelson, and Jadyn, so I just went with them to Lakeside to run the course for Friday. I ran barefoot and ran the boys course twice with them. It's the same as the girls course, but the girls course cuts off sooner and I wanted to have people to run with. Now I'm back in study hall getting my 12 hours in for the week.

| | Today we ran over to Lakeside as a group. We ran for 20 minutes along our home course then did the last 800 as 2 400s. We ran back then did all of our weights. I like doing weights with the boys, they're too funny! After I showered up and now I'm in study hall, going to yoga in 2 hours. Maybe I'll take the bus home, but maybe not. Then I have my 3 hour lecture. Yay.

| | Today was a beautiful rainy day, so I decided to wear my bright orange pants! I ran with Maddie and Aisha from the WAC through the parking lot and frolf course to Pinnacle so I could get my jacket, then we ran up to Ventana so Maddie could get hers. Once we had our jackets we just ran to the track, did our 2x200 and 2x100 for form, then jogged to the locker room. Time for more study hall!

UVU Invite (3.1 Miles) 00:20:07, Place in age division: 13 | | This morning was our home meet! We ran against Wyoming, SUU, USU, and Westminister. I ran a 2 mile warmup with the girls while we cheered on the boys, then we spiked up for our race. We did a few strides. Coach wanted us to run as a group for the first mile around 5:55-6:10, but we accidentally went out aroung 5:35-5:40. It felt really fast but I didn't let it get to me. Instead I still worked harder the next 2 miles, picking and passing. It really helps me to have teammates to work with. I worked with Savannah on the field by the baseball diamonds, and then for the last 800 I worked with Mikesell. She really helped me with that last 400! I was a little upset when I saw the clock go from 19:59 to 20:00, but it's still a college PR for me! (Because last race was an extra quarter mile and all gravel) I even threw up, so I know I worked hard! We had a team meeting while I ate an apple, then we did a barefoot cooldown. Then I went grocery shopping with my mama for some healthy food :) Thanks mama! Love you! <3

| | This is a pretty funny story. Lexie and I couldn't sleep, and it was 2 am, so we decided to go for a run in the rain! Our hair: frizzballs! We started at our house then ran along Sandhill to University Parkway, then we ran all the way over to State Street and turned right. We ran down past the DI, then decided to turn left on some random busy road. It started to rain harder, which made it more fun. We were going about a 7:20 pace the whole run. While wondering where we were, I saw the Panda Express and Wendys by the BYU track, and couldn't believe that we had just ran there! We ran by the track all the way back to University Parkway, then stayed on UP until we got home. Coming up the curvy road from Provo to Orem was a little sketchy and I was a little scared, but we stayed together so it made it better. It was a solid 8.5 mile run. When we got home we considered filling the tub up with hot water and eating our Oreos, then Emily came in our room because she was still awake! She wanted to go for a 3 am run too, so I went with her for 3.5 to get my 12! We did the same thing on UP, but we turned around at In N Out Burger and came back. We stopped at McDonalds because we wanted large Dr Pepper so we ran through the drive through. The people there were very cool, but their system was down and all we had was card, no cash. The workers thought we were crazy. It was fun! We ran home and my Garmin hit 12. We hopped the fence, made our hot cocoa, and fell asleep on the living room floor. And we just made pancakes for breakfast!

| | Today we ran to Lakeside for our 3x10 minute tempo. I felt fine on the first one and stayed at the 6:15 pace. The second one I felt awful. I wasn't mentally prepared for this workout. The third one I pushed through it. I'm just glad that I finished the workout. We ran back to the WAC for cooldown, then I iced for 15 minutes before going to study hall. Later, Brenden and I went to Yoga. After that I went to Golds Gym with Harley, Shea, Caity, Savannah, and Brenden. We did a warmup on the elliptical all of our stuff on teamdesktop. Good workout. Now it's time for Cheerios and Apple Juice.

| | Today was speed. We ran our 15 minute warmup through the frolf course to the tunnels and back, then did all our drills. The workout was 4 sets of 600, 400, 300, 200. The recovery after each one was 500, 400, 400, 400. I felt good the first set but it was mentally tough because of the crowd. The second set I got worse. We thought we were doing 3 sets, so I was excited for my last set but then was disappointed that there were 4. After the 3rd set I felt better mentally because I only had one more. During the last set, Coach asked if I was okay and needed to stop, but I said that I wanted to finish because I've already come this far. I finished strong, then we did a 10 minute cooldown. Weights later, class now. Yoga here I come. Then a nice long 3 hour history lecture. I'm not signing up for night classes next semester.

| | After being on the bus all day we finally made it to Montana! We just did a run from our hotel, 20 minutes out and back. We ran on this wide dirt road next to a train track and stayed as a big group. Race tomorrow!

Montana State Invite (3 Miles) 00:20:13 | | For a warmup we ran a part of the course together while cheering for the boys on their 8k. Our plan was to take the first mile slow and then pick it up a ton. Well I figured out the hard way that that won't work for me, because the first mile was too slow and then it was too hard for me to pick it up, but I still felt like I was at race pace. Once I got to the final stretch I realized I was on pace to break 20 minutes, so I started kicking. But the last 150M was the annoying little rollie hills which really slowed me down because it broke my stepping pattern and I almost tripped several times. For a cooldown we ran the lower loop, then did 2 400s on the field before getting back on the bus and getting lunch. I love burritos. We headed home after.

| | Today we met as a team and then drove up to the trailhead. A lot of people were mistaken by which trail we were going to, so I ran in a small group along the paved path for a 15 minute warmup with Brooke, Jess, Ally, and Lexie. Then we did 2 400s up the road, which added anohter mile. Then we got on the rocky trail and ran in a single file line up to the top. Once we got to the top we kept running and got staggered into groups. I ran with Emily, Caity, Genevieve, and Maddie. On the way back I tripped and fell down the side of the trail into the bushes, but I only have a couple of scratches so I'm fine. When we got back someone gave us coupons for free slushies from Rita's Ice and 2 buckets of slushie to advertise their grand opening. Yay for free things!

| | This morning I woke up early (yay for going to bed early!) and went for a nice 2 mile run. I would have ran farther but I had to get ready for class.
Later Darian and I baked a strawberry cake with strawberry frosting and we put cut up strawberries on it for Chuk's birthday. After that we went to our gym at Pinnacle together for fun. I did the elliptical for a while, then a couple of weight and core thingys. I'm pretty sore from yesterday, but I really want to see my abs. I'm getting lines!!!!!

| | Today we drove to Vintage park for our workout. We ran a 15 minute warmup around the perimiter of the park, then did our drills, stretching, and a couple strides. Our workout was 3x10 minute tempo. When we started the first one I didn't want to go out too hard, but I still stuck with a couple of girls. After the first lap I was running with Harley and Caity at our 6:30 pace, so I just stuck with them. A few times I fell off a few strides but I kept a positive mind and managed to stay with them the whole time! We had 2 minutes jogging recovery before the next set. I decided to run with Harley and Caity again because they're really good at pacing and I felt like I was pushing. I stayed on pace! On the third set they went faster so I was a few meters behind but Coach Evans biked alongside me and talked me through my bad form, which really helped me stay strong and keep that 6:30. It's the first workout here where I've stayed consistent instead of slowing down! I'm getting to where I need to be! We ran 2x400s at 85 to finish off the workout, then I ran a 15 minute cooldown with Brooke the birthday girl. :) I feel really good about this workout. Now I'm in study hall. Time to go to weights and yoga! Then a 3 hour lecture, yay!

| | Today we went up to Vintage park for our workout. We ran a 15 minute warmup on the trail. Today it was 2x1 mile, 2x1000, 4x400. My first mile I worked with Savannah, Aisha, and Shae. On the second mile I took my shoes off and stayed close behind them. My times were 6:19 and 6:22. On the 1000s I stayed close to them again and hit 4:02 and 4:06. On the 400s I got 89, 91, 90, 88. Pretty alright workout I guess. We ran a 15 minute cooldown on the trail. The gatorade was purple today :) I really like Vintage park, it's very flat and exactly one lap on the pavement is half mile :) and it's grassy so I was able to do most of the workout on the grass. Later I went to weights with my group, then took a 15 minute ice bath. Then Brenden and I went to Yoga!
