Today I was feeling really sick, tired and sore when I woke up. I wanted to beat the triple digit heat though, so I got up and went out. I ran along 14th east to 17th south and up to 19th east over to Laird Park. I stretched there for a few minutes before heading over to 9th south, where I went down in the gulley, out the bottom, and home along 15th east. I still felt really tired after. I've been avoiding naptime today though because I know I won't be able to fall asleep at bedtime if I take one.

This morning I went out to Park City to run with some pretty awesome people. I met up with Kenzie, Emily, and more at PCHS where we started in the weight room. Today, Kenz, Em, and I had to do crunches, pushups, lemon squeezes, hyper-extentions, leg and knee lifts, weighted lunges, and weighted stair lifts. After all of that fun stuff we went running with Lyssa, Maddie, Ally, and Ian. The altitude got to me worse than I was expecting. We ran out on a paved path to the trail, and once we got on the trail I felt super sick and had to stop for a minute to breathe. Emily stayed with me :) Once I felt better we continued on the trail and talked about chick flicks. It helped me take my mind off of the elevation, plus I had to focus on not tripping because it was a pretty rocky trail. I was expecting a turnaround point, but after forever on the trail we were descending and going down some steep switchbacks. Once we were off the trail and onto the pavement, we ran across the street to a field where we ran around the back of the high school where we met up with everyone else, and I met Jordan Hasay!! Afterwords I drank lots of water and went home because that was exhausting. It was fun though :)

Last night was a great game, Grand Slam by the Bees in the 9th inning! Oh wait this is a running blog. Whoops.

This morning Kiley and I woke up early to go run on Draper trail. We ran out 3 and back 3. Our last mile was really fast because both of us had to go potty really bad. After that we went to Kneaders for breakfast then we took a 5 hour nap. I'm still sore from Tuesday.

Today Susannah and I decided to go to Cottonwood Complex. I ran the 3 mile loop as a warmup then I ran along the high school region course. The first 20 minutes I did 10 sets of fartlek. My shoes and socks were drenched in the first quarter mile so the rest of the run was really squeaky. Once my fartlek was over I finished the course as a cooldown and added a little for exactly 6. Then I layed down in the wet grass and did my crunches, pushups, and stretches. Now I'm going to do some leg lifts.

Been so sick this past week. It's the new soymilk. Lactard life. Anyways, today Joe wanted to go running so I ran down to Liberty park and we ran 2 laps then home up 13th south. Going at 2 in the afternoon made me realize why I don't run at 2 in the afternoon in the summer. I'm setting an alarm to wake up early tomorrow.

This morning after my work meeting (donuts, juice, candy, etc.) I went for a nice run. I ran up 13th south to 15th east and over to Sunnyside. Susannah caught up to me at that light, then a car cut us off. Her yelling at it was probably the funniest thing ever. "Don't hit us you idiot! I know you can see us! JERK!" their windows were down. We ran along Guardsman, and when she turned up 5th south I crossed the street and ran up by the Institute building. I did that larger loop then ran back down to Foothill then ran up Sunnyside to Wasatch. The Zoo was crowded and some lady pulled out of the parking lot. I think she meant to pull out far enough for me to go behind her car, so I ran in front of it while giving her the look. Idiot lady. There were a lot of people out golfing this morning! I went down 13th south and all the way home. I added a little bit to get an exact 7 miles. It was a good run.

This morning Joe and I started at my house and ran along 14th east over to 17th south to 15th east and Sugarhouse park. We ran 2 big grass loops around the park and on the 2nd one we stayed along 17th east to 17th south, down to 16th east to Harrison then I ran home. Now I'm done with my cereal and it's time to crawl back in bed.

Today when I woke up I decided that I wanted to run at Liberty because it wouldn't be as hot down there. I ran there and when I got there I ran a lap before my stretching. I didn't want to run just laps, so I decided that I would throw in some 800s. I ran to the starting line and ran my first one in 3 flat. Not bad but eh. I ran over to the drinking fountain and could've sworn I saw Chris. Well Chris if you're reading this and that was you HI! I wasn't sure so I just ran back to where I finished my last 800 and ran a second one. This one was 3:01. Eh. I ran another lap around the park recovery, did some strides, and headed home. I hit 6 right at the bottom of the hill so I just walked it today. I'm feeling like a trail run tomorrow.

This morning I ran up to 15th east over to Sugarhouse park where I ran around the perimiter. Then I went down to the field and did 8 barefoot strides focused on form and speed. Then I did a plethora of crunches, pushups, lemon squeezes, planks, lunges, and squats. Then I stretched for a few minutes before running hard up the hill and heading up to 17th east to run home. It was a pretty good run, I averaged a 7:38 pace.

And I'm running alone again because my running buddy broke his toe. Poop. Anyways, tonight I went for a 3 mile shakeout run. On Sunday I went and got an hour and 45 minute massage, and my body just feels so fresh! Tomorrow I've got a 5K but I'm probably just going to tempo run instead of race it. We'll see.

Today was Handcart Days! I woke up this morning really grumpy because I couldn't sleep last night and I was too grumpy and tired to eat breakfast, not even a piece of bread. When we got to the race and picked up our packets I was really hungry, but the Rec Center didn't have any vending machines with food in them and the concession stand wasn't open, so I ran half mile down the road to Maverick where I bought 2 Nature Valley oats and honey bars. I only ate one, then finished warming up. Then I changed shoes and did my strides. I was still unsure if I wanted to race or tempo. The cannon fired and I decided to go tempo. But I was the leading lady out of the parking lot, so I decided that I would race :) It felt really good. My plantarfacia hurt really badly at miles 1.5 to 2.25, but once I had that less than a mile to go I ran scared because I knew there were some girls close behind me. I really wanted to be the first female. For the last quarter mile I picked a target of one of the guys who looked like he was ready to be done, and I worked up to him and passed him. We were sprinting down the homestretch and he was right on me, but I still chicked him :) I threw up my breakfast, but since it was only one bar it wasn't that bad. I never cool down, so naturally I didn't cool down. Oh but on the results I was listed as a male, so I had to get that taken care of. I was excited for the medals because they looked really cool, but turns out those were for age groups, I got a chair. Oh well. No bling for me today :( Overall it was a good race, I was way more prepared for this race than I expected.

Today was a good day. First things first, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUSANNAH!! Anyways. Today I went up to Pipeline with Susannah, Patrick, Katelyn, Becca, and Alyssa. In the first .25 of the trail there was a super angry snake. 2 people walking the other way with their dogs were scared too, especially when one of the dogs chased the snake. It gave me a lot of adrenaline. I stayed up with Susannah and Katelyn for the first 1.75 but then my snake fright wore off and I wasn't feeling too good. I stopped at 2.5 and decided that 5 would be good enough. I turned and headed back at a little faster pace, but still conservative. Afterwards Susannah and I went and got our nails done and I got mine super long, making typing difficult. Happy Birthday Bananny!

Last night's rain was beautiful. This morning it was still really cool outside, so I got myself to go out and run. I ran up 13th south all the way to Wasatch Blvd where I decided if I wanted to go North and do the VA Loop or go South and do Thunderbird. I chose Thunderbird. Coming back along Foothill I went down 17th south to Wasatch Hollow and went through there to 16th east and home. It was a nice run. Hopefully tomorrow has good weather since I have an eye appointment really early.
