Today was just a tri meet at East and since I'm racing steeplechase at BYU tomorrow I only ran the 400 and 800. I didn't catch my times but whatever.

Today Sarah B, Fleur, Olivia and I went down to BYU for the 2000M steeplechase! When we got there we ran our warmup and put our spikes on to go practice jumping over the barriers. For the race I was seeded 1. The girl seeded 2 told me that her goal today was to beat me. Okay? Anyways I took the race out and led the first lap, then the girl came and was right on my tail. At the last barrier on the 2nd lap my left spike on my trail leg caught the barrier and I wiped out. That's where the girl moved and I spent the rest of the race trying my hardest to go catch her. It was super difficult and I ended up getting outkicked by 2 people. I was upset because I thought I was 4th, one away from a medal, but it turns out one of the girls was a 1a-2a girl so I was really 3rd and got a medal :) After being upset about that girl beating me, my sister reminded me that her success depended on my fall.

Short little jog around the neighborhood just to loosen up a little. My butt is really stiff.

Today at BYU I ran a 2 mile warmup before going to the Bull Pen. I was seeded 19th (last) in my heat. I went out the hardest in my alley, but once we cut in I realized that wasn't really something to be proud of. I didn't catch any of my splits but I knew I was having a horrible race. I crashed on the last lap, both physically and mentally, and fell down after I crossed the line. It was really hard today. I have sucked at the mile this year. I ran 1 mile cooldown along Canyon road and then took a nap while elevating my legs for the 800. My 800 was a lot better. I've been doing good in that this year, PRing and all. My first lap was a 74, then a 78, so I just needed to work on that last lap. My kick was really good though. After the 800 I ran 1 giant lap in the stadium for half mile, then grabbed 3 bucks and ran .25 out and .25 back then rewarded myself with a snowcone. Yeah I do that... Alot.

Mile warmup. Mile speedchanges. The wind picked up every lap. We did 2 sets of 600, 400, 300, 300. The first set I ran 2:09, 80, 50, 55. The wind was tough. We ran a lap then the second set was 2:19, 82, 55, 55. After that was 15 minutes cooldown so I ran 4 barefoot grass laps.

Today after the half mile warmup and such we broke into groups. We ran 1 mile warmup and 1 mile speed changes, then 200s and 300s. We didn't time them, just ran hard. It was 3 200s and 2 300s. The 300s were actually spontaneous. The wind made life hard. Then I ran 2 barefoot grass laps. Regions 1600 tomorrow, ew.

Well we made it up to Woods Cross for regions, but there was thunder and lightning so after sitting in the school for half hour they finally postponed the meet and as soon as everyone got on the buses and took off it was sunny again. I was gonna go on a 4 mile adventure run around the neighborhood but accidentally took a 4 hour nap...

Today was day 1 of Regions. I ran 2 miles warmup in my flats because I seem to have misplaced my trainers. At the start of the mile, 3 different people had already grabbed me, cut me off, nearly tripped me, and such. It was horrible. First lap was a 78. My 800 was a 2:55. I was so mad about the start, like every other start in the mile this year. Worst event ever. I ended up with a 6:07 so screw it. I ran 1 mile cooldown in my flats before heading home. Tomorrow I have the AP Stats test so hopefully I make it in time for the 800 and 3200.

After 5 hours in the exam room I made it in time. They held off the meet for me, how sweet! I ran some warmup strides on the astroturf in my spikes then started. At the start I was cut off by my own teammates and tripped by another. Plus being shoved by the other teams. It was just like yesterday where I mentally couldn't handle the abuse. I planned on a better 3200.

At the start of the 3200 I was shoved by another girl but this time I fought back and at the first 100M I went out front and took control of the pack. I led the first 6 laps. On the 6th lap though as the Bountiful girl tried to pass me and she cut me off while she was right next to me. Excuse me? Stride and a half before cutting missy! I threw in a speed change and lost her for a lap but on the 7th lap is where the lactic started to kick in and then the Woods Cross girl passed me too easily. It hurt. I ended up 3rd, so I'm going to state. I'll do better there because I'll have fresh legs. I ran 1 mile in my flats before going to Costa Vida with my parents :)

Today was a speed workout in 95 degree weather. Apparently there was a morning workout I wasn't invited to, so Chris and I had to run in the heat. After all the track drills and such we ran 1 mile warmup and 1 mile speed changes before starting the speed. It was a 500, then jog 100, then a fast 200. Three sets with 4 minutes recovery in between. I was super thirsty. At the end I had to hurry home for work but I managed a half mile cooldown when I got home that night.

MY RUNNING BUDDY BEST FRIEND CAME HOME SO I GOT TO RUN WITH KILEY!!!!

We drove to the track and before school let out we ran up Sunnyside to 9th south and to the top entrance to the gulley. I figured it'd be cooler down there, and it was. Kiley isn't used to the heat, altitude, and dryness of Utah yet because Minnesota is very different. We were able to splash ourselves in the creek because it was so hot. She survived though! Afterwards we went and bought popsicles and helped time the 100s at JV Regions then sat in the press box and provided some commentary for the meet. It was fun!

Today I went to practice after being super sick with back aches and such yesterday, only to find that there was not practice. So I ran from the East Stadium up to Sunnyside park where I ran 3 big laps. When I got back to East I ran 2 300s, 53 and 52. I have state on Saturday, so tomorrow I'm probably just gonna run a little.

Today was my final high school race for East High! I ran 1 mile warmup around the stadium in my old trainers. At the start of the race, the girl on my right cut right in front of me like she did at Regions, but I was ready and took the lead in the third alley. When we cut in with the rest of the crowd I realized I was stupid because I was leading, and decided to go with the top group but not lead it. I stuck with them for about 2 1/2 laps before slowly fading off. I still felt great though, not like I was crashing, but according to my splits I was. I felt like I was working hard though. I ran a 3 mile cooldown with my running buddy and now it's either train for Great Southwest or take my dead 2 weeks.

I've been doing a lot of biking and swimming the past week. I went to California after state and walked around Disneyland and college campuses pretty much the whole time. The Acapella trip was amazing though!

Anyways, today I went to Bountiful with Susannah and Jesse to go for a little run. Jesse said the trail would be nice and flat. Yeah whatever, rocky and hilly and such. They ditched me and I got lost down by the river, so I eventually turned around, found my way out, and ran along the road behind the temple, where it was FLAT. No rocks. We were going to go to core at a park later but Jesse is a slow runner and I had to get to work.

Susannah helped me set up my summer mileage plan, so I feel pretty ready :)

I need to get new trainers since mine have vanished. There's no doubt about it. I just ran a mile on my dreadmill today because of the heavy rain, then I went to coach at CCC and help out with a few things. :)
