This morning I left the house with Kenzie and Emily for a run. We met up with Genevieve and Maddie in the parking lot, then went for a run. We ran south on Sandhill Rd to the roundabout, where we went under the freeway and across the train tracks. We turned right and ran back towards University Parkway and Wolverine Crossing and continued on that road to the stoplight that takes forever. Kenz and Gen kept running, but Emily, Maddie and I turned right and ran to 12th West. We ran into Trac and Chris! When we ran by the WAC we took a potty break, then continued running to the tunnels and then home. I still have another hour to get ready for school but all I need to do is eat breakfast...

Today we did some speed at the park by the Rec Center. We ran there from the WAC as a warmup, which was uphill. So much fun. Our workout was 4 x 1 mile repeats. I ran the first one with my shoes on and hit the time. I felt a little sick, so I took my shoes off and ran barefoot because it was much lighter than trainers. My next 3 I felt awful; instead of getting progressivly faster I got slower. After the last mile I felt better. We did 2 400s, my first was an 88. My second one, Ivie and Jess encouraged me to run with them, which really helped me. I ran it in 80 seconds. I put my shoes back on and ran back to the WAC with Savannah, Caity, and Genevieve. I took an ice bath for 10 minutes then went to Yoga. Now I'm starting my 3 hour history lecture! Yay!!

Today we did a speed workout at the park by the water towers. We ran 15 minutes for a warmup then did our drills. The workout was 5 1200s. It was a loop around the park then up a hill and onto the road for a little bit. We did 2 uphill, then started at the top of the road for a downhill. Then did one more up and one more down. On the last down we were all thirsty, so Coach picked up a hose on someones front lawn (they had a BYU flag so it was okay) and we all drank. After the 1200s some of us took our shoes off and we did 2 400s just on the grass, then 4 strides to look at our form. We did a 5 minute cooldown before heading back to the WAC for ice baths and study hall.
