I finished Letting Loose the Hounds, a short-story collection by Brady Udall. It has a familiar, western feel. One of the author's writing teachers was also my writing teacher. One of us has put more of the knowledge to use than the other.

pm--4 Anasazi w/ cholla, dodging the hound dog. She was crowding my legs today. Also, saw a big flipping bobcat about 30 yards in front of us. Always cool to see critters.

pm--5.75 Old school on Barrel Roll, clockwise w/ no Elusion. This is such a great run. One of the first trails I ever experienced. It's still one of my favs. A day is a good day on BR in shorty shorts. 
 

I finished an interesting biography of Elizabeth Bishop, A Miracle for Breakfast, by Megan Marshall. Bishop is one of my favorite poets, so subtle and attuned to the natural world. Sounds like she was quite the drinker, too.
