Favorite Running Quotes:
1.
"Sooner or later the serious runner goes through a special, very personal experience that is unknown to most people.
Some call it euphoria. Others say it's a new kind of mystical experience that propels you into a elevated state of consciousness, a flash of joy.
A sense of floating as you run. This experience is unique to each of us, but when it happens, you break through a barrier that separates you from casual runners. Forever. And from that point on, there is no finish line. You run for your life. You begin to be addicted to what running gives you."
~Nike Poster
2. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
You’ve no doubt heard this. And you’ve probably recited it in your mind on a run or at the gym when you’re just beginning to get in shape. You have a goal in sight and this quote brings you back to the current moment.
But the problem is that many runners forget all of the steps between the first one and the goal. If your goal is to run under two hours for the half marathon then you need to be honest about all of the little steps to get to that goal.
You should have goals, but you should take it one step at a time. And you should be honest about the fact that you don’t know how many steps it will take to get there. ~ Vernon Gambetta

| WALK/RUN: 4.1 miles - 50 minutes 6 min walk - 4 min run 5:30 min walk - 4 min run x3 5 min walk - 5 min run I've really upped my ankle exercises and so far today, my ankle has felt good. But I'm not holding my breath :) BIKE in pm: 15.44 miles - 1:05.55 minutes (did Healy hill twice, Wal-mart hill and TM hill). I always feel like I peddle in slow-motion and just don't go very far or fast. But it was a fun ride - this is one of my favorite routes and the weather was cooler. Fall is coming.

WALK/RUN: 3.45 miles - 42:11 minutes 6 min walk - 4 min run 5:30 min walk - 4:30 run x2 5 min walk - 5min run
As I walked up to my front door after my workout, I looked at my watch and it said 4:39am. I had a puking kid all night. Why do stomachs need to rid their contents in the middle of the night? So by 3:45 am, I couldn't sleep anymore so I hit the dark and loney road (the gym doesn't open till 4:30am). I was a little nervous since it was so dark. I was VERY aware of my surroundings and noises. But it was cool and quiet. I did a bunch of ankle exercises on my front porch, took a shower and crawled back into bed. Hubby had brought Pukey into our bed (I have a firm NO KIDS IN BED rule). She was still though. I slept some but am still really tired. Hoping to get a ride in when hubby gets home from work. NO MORE PUKING KIDS! (on a side note, ankle does feel good today...still too early to get excited). PM - bike ride. I had HUGE intentions on going for a long ride tonight - I even had some extra time. But 19:29 minutes into my ride, I got a flat. I took off my tool kit when I had my bike tuned up last week and never put it back on. So my sweet hubby and all the kids came to pick me up. So much for a long ride......

| WALK/ RUN: 4.1 miles - 50 minutes - 6 minute walk to 4 minute run 5:30 minute walk to 4:30 minute run 5 minute walk to 5 minute run x 3 I had another puking kids last night (9pm ish). But he got his "junk" EVERYWHERE - can't we at least try to aim! So I spent the morning at the laundromat washing his comforter. But he didn't wake up in the middle of the night and when he came down this morning, he asked what was for breakfast. I love the pukes! I had a really good workout this morning (except that the gym was playing Wizard of Oz in the Cardio Cinema room - come on!!!). I had no pain in my ankle and haven't for the past few days. I'm still not calling it good, but it is definitely getting into the range. No bike ride tonight - I'm going to cheer my puker at his soccer game!

| I can barely type this post my arms are so sore! I've made a self-challenge to start to lift weights. I have really bad posture and need to get my core stronger. So I went to a power pump class - first time ever. That was some tough stuff for a wimp like me! My whole body is sore - head to toe! But I'm going to shoot for twice a week with the weights - we'll see how it rolls. (no cool videos like Burts though)
I got a short bike ride in this evening. Wish I could have gone longer, but I was canning spaghetti sauce, freezing pesto sauce, watching my niece and trying to get dinner ready. So I hit all my close, big hills - 4 of them. Quality not quantity tonight! 30 minute ride - 6.84 miles

| WALK/RUN - 4.2 miles in 50 minutes - warm up of 6 min walk to 4 min run and then did 4x 5min run to 5 min walk I am so flipping sore from power pump yesterday. What a wimp! In addition to the soreness, I am dog tired from walking around Swiss Days. WOWZER, there was a lot of people, yummy food and it was hot. Time to go to bed!

| WALK/RUN: 40 minutes - 3.25 miles - 5 min walk to 5 min run. Ankle felt awesome! I told my hubby last night that I feel like I am progressing and moving forward and not stagnant. This brings me great hope. It is so hard to feel like you are going no where! We'll see.....
BIKE: Suncrest, baby! 11.5 miles 1:02:47 minutes. I like this ride because it is short, but very intense! I rode with my training partner from last summer. It was great to catch up and I hope to be running with her soon! I felt ok on the ride - my quads were ON FIRE from that stupid pump class. I can't believe how sore I still am!
