I ran the half today with the feeling I shouldn't. My left calf was bothering me. Went for a two mile warm up. Calf was bothering me but I figured I could "take it easy" Race started and there were a lot of runners. First two miles were up hill and my calf was not happy. I thought I was going to have to drop out. Kept going and started talking to an air Force inspector. We were going fast and I asked wayyy down. I figured I could make this a good training run. Around mile 6, we started running in the most heavenly neighborhood I have ever seen. The southern homes with spring blossoms made me feel like I was floating, or maybe it was my caffeinated gu? I picked up the pace around mile 9 and I passed a lot of people. 10 had a big hill and then it was a downhill finish. 3 miles of glorious downhill. Finished and my leg was not happy. I'll probably be off for two weeks. Yay |
