Spin class.  It's been two weeks since I have been on a bike and the class went rather well for me.  I still can't put any weight on my right arm.  Hopefully in about a week or two I might be back on the road doing the real thing on my old bike.  :(

PM  I went to a Triathlon clinic at Powertri!  It was really fun getting to know a lot of triathlon crazies...  Anyway, the clinic was about the mental side of racing, I loved it!  The sports psychologist gave a lot of advice on how to deal with injuries, racing, and preparing for a race (mentally)!  Great relaxation tactics as well.  I won free Skull Candy ear buds and a free shirt.  Lots of giveaways.  I am already excited to race next Spring! A Triathlon of course...

I am a cruddy blogger during the summer----NO TIME!

What happened????

You can do a spin class w/out putting any weight on your R arm?!? I think I would die!! I'm glad you're getting a little bit in, I hope it's helping the healing process - in and out!

Kelli, she had a bad crash on her bike and was life-flighted to IMC and there overnight. Broken scapula and a sinus bone and road rash galore. I honestly can't believe she is back so quickly! Amazingly tough girl - like any of us doubted her toughness! :)

SEE WHAT I MISS??? WOW, that is very scary. BIKES scare me for that reason. Glad you are okay and back at it already. Take it easy.

It's ok Kelli, I have been off of the blog for about a month. The injuries keep coming so I gave the blog a rest... Anyway, bikes are scary! See what happens when I try to stay away from pounding the pavement?

RAD, spinning actually wasn't too bad. I raised the handle bars clear up and leaned into my left side. My left side is weaker so I might as well try to strengthen it a bit more right?

I guess you're right, good L hand strengthening :)

So, how was your bike? Salvageable?

From Bec on Fri, Aug 13, 2010 at 00:48:35 from 76.23.55.210

Ahhh RAD, my poor bike. I need a new frame for the poor dear. Everything on the bike is worth more than I paid for the thing, so I will probably transfer it all to a new frame this spring. Crazy how one crack ruins all the fun on those carbon fiber death machines...

ugghh, I'm sorry! Those yhings are so expensive! However, I must admit I'm glad the cracks ended up in the bike and helmet and not your head :)

I wanted to go to that clinic. But I wasn't sure if it was just going to be broadcast or if you could walk in too..Guess I could have called to ask. :D

So sorry to hear about your crash! Sounds like you have the mental aspect already in place, many in your shoes would not be eager to get back on the bike!

I'm glad your injuries were not more severe. Tho, those sound pretty bad. My friend raced Spudman on the 31st last month and got spooked by a spectator/volunteer when she was nearing the end of the bike. She thought they were walking in front of her, and she over reacted (only had on hand on the bars at the time, and feet were out of her shoes ready to run through T2.) She jack knifed and flipped off her bike, broke her pelvis in two places.

It's pretty scary to me how, experienced cyclists such as she can wreck. I'm so new on the bike...if she crashes, it's only soon before I'm next! Hopefully not. :P

Get better soon Bec!
