Last Vernal loooong run!  I don't have to climb the forever long inclines here any longer.  This was not my best long run.  Body felt fine, but my mind couldn't get over the fact that I had to run 22 miles.  At about mile 12 I started running in the moment.

At the beginning of my run I passed a family twice, they were out for a morning jog.  The last mile of my run they drove up to me in a car.  They asked how far I had run, I told them 21 miles.  Their jaws dropped, and they asked my what I was training for.

That run proved to me that I am not completely ready for my marathon in 4 weeks.  I just felt so blah.  I had to siphon energy out of myself to get the miles I needed.  I think that I did better than I am giving myself credit for though.  I am just happy that I only have 4 weeks to go.

Hang in there...training is tough as you hit your peak mileage weeks. You got 'er done, that is what counts most. Learn from the run...maybe you need to work on your fueling and hydration approach, find ways to mark the mileage differently in your head so 20M+ doesn't seem so long while running (break the run down into 5K segments and count those, not individual miles). Maintaining focus and energy now is tough, but the weather is getting nice and the goal race is just around the corner...believe me the experience is worth it!

Hang in there!

Thanks Jeff. Sometimes when I run that long by myself my mind gets clogged. I try to break long runs down in my mind, but for some reason I was bogged down. 4 weeks to go now, and the next few weeks are vital. MARCH MADNESS is almost over.
