This past weekend I went down to St. George with David to volunteer for the Ironman.  I was completely amazed at the ability of these athletes.  I was also inspired.  Time to sign up for next year's race!

6 miles on the LC track.  1 mile swim or 32 laps in 29 minutes.  The swim felt really good probably because I have not been lifting as much.  Arms feel a flab.

So jealous! I so want to do a 70.3 someday (I need a few years to get ready). I remember feeling on top of the world when I volunteered at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta as a HS student. Good for you!

It was amazing Toby! You are completely capable of a 70.3. I want to do a half Ironman this summer.

6 miles and a mile swim? Wow, I guess for you that's nothin' though :) Nice work on the volunteer and the workout - I can totally see you doing the ironman next year!!

KP- I'm butting in...I'm pretty sure a full ironman is about 2.5 mile swim and 100 mile bike then a full marathon to finish. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's it.

I asked a real Iron Woman this morning! One of my co-workers is in AL from CO this week and she has done 4 full ones. She said you run 26.2, swim 2.4, and bike 102... I believe. Those numbers might be a bit off, but I about had a stroke. She travels A LOT. I don't see how she gets the training in. I asked her and she said it is all early mornings. Sheesh!

She also said that a friend of hers marathon PR went from 3:26 to 3:02 when she started incorporating a little biking and swimming into her workout as just a means of crosstraining. Interesting...
