| | Met up with Lyndsi @ 10 a.m. The temp was negative 2 yet felt like negative 15 with the windchill. First two miles my feet hurt and were frozen. I didn't wear my Smart Wool's...not so smart of me. My face hurt when we ran into the wind, but after we turned and went south, with the sun on our face, we did much better. It was so good to chat and feel alive in the cold still winter. |

| | so my shin is still bothering me. ran first mile with discomfort, then I got off, went to the rest room, tried to stretch then only made it another half before I didn't want to push into too much pain. Went to Tami's YOGA class - so wonderful! Think I'll take a few days off, really let it rest up. I have been doing epsome salt, rolling w/golf ball on the bottom of my foot and ice (w/cream later.) wore my compression socks to school today, felt like that helped. |
Saucony Kinvara Miles: 1.50 |
|
| | Went to see Doctor Sarah Valac April 18 (Thur.) Had taken the morning off to ice and prop my leg. Went in at noon she wanted an MRI - really, it seems more like tendonitis - she then sent me to see PT Stephani Liddel. I ended up w/her associate who did the fork tuner test on my bone. I felt no pain and then we worked through a series of exercises scrape/rub down of lower leg to end w/ ice and electric current waves into my leg. I have been three times now (that day and Mon/Wed of this week. After texting w/Sarah last night, we agreed that I could walk a mile today on TM to see how it is feeling.. I felt my lower left shin the first quarter mile then the next quarter mile it began to pull and became very uncomfortable. I stopped, stretched. Did tricep dips, pushups, crunches lots of yoga stretches. I also ended with hopping on my left leg just to see if it wold hurt. It did NOT hurt at all, so that is a good sign. While I sit here, it does not hurt, so I will slowly get back there! |

|
| | Ran @ 6am w/Alana - we started our first mile @ 9:18 pace and then kept the pace around a 9 min mile (a few in between were faster, but still, slower run - again). My right shin began hurting at mile 4. This bothers me, but I realized how fast I jumped my miles so I am going to try and keep miles, just lower this week. Ice and do my PT stretches and exercises. |

| | Went out with Shelley - such a beautiful morning! My shin still hurt, but it was my i-t band to stop me. I tried stretching it out, could get a half mile, then go again. But then I it locked up with sharp pain that I stopped straight up! Shelley was good to just walk 1/2 mile back to her car and take me home. Easy does it for me, I know I will be strong, just need to listen to my body! |
|
| | Ran this morning with music and by myself. Wasn't sure how far I would be able to go. I went out and looped Freeman, thinking it might just be a 4 mile run, but was feeling good so I included the river to make it 6 for the morning. Not sure what my plan is tomorrow morning, just going with the flow at this point - and oddly enough, I'm just fine with that! Love summer break! |

| | Ran the Bone to Back Relay run today with Mariah Cole, Arik Durfee, Breanna Livingston, Sandra Dunn, Matt Bertasso, Mary Towler and Rex Taylor. Holly Dasher was our gracious driver for the day. What an incredible time had by all!! I ran leg 4, our over all group time was 6 hours and 24 minutes...I think... |
| |
| | Alana was gracious enough to watch and feed the girls while I went out this afternoon (hot) and ran. Was dragging the first 4 miles, gelled and then did great until mile 9, when I went to gel again, it must have dropped out :( I slugged my last 4 miles back to her house, where she made me a shake and we visited all afternoon - knee, shins, legs felt good! Tired from yesterdays run, but happy summer to us! |
|
| | on the TM @ 11:00 a.m. Alana always jokes that it is tough to run at an odd time, but this 3 miles was seriously hard. Emma and Ali ran around a corned and crashed into each other at .75, then emma called to me b/c my calendar was going off on my phone at 1.48, (went upstairs to turn off) back onto the TM for last mile and half - SIGH, this single parent thing can be tough on workouts for sure! |

I gave it my all out there for a 9 minute mile pace!! WOW, good training, just keeping going :) beautiful morning!! After 2.5 hours at the pool, took care of front & back lawn (moe), ran Emma to 4H, Ali to my folks, then met up with Elly Mae in the hills for hills/trails. WOW what a work out. We went out at 6:30 and it was 87 degrees last I had checked. I was dripping head to toe and one happy woman - I think I will rest tomorrow. Rex comes back from church camp and I have to go take care of Granny Bell's lawn/yard work for her in the morning. WHEW - summer break is good. |

| | Not expecting my knees/ legs to act up...@ mile 5 today...stopped numerous times to try and stretch them out. To no relief. Tried to run and push through the pain, but it became too much. I could not walk after one of the last ditch effort to stretch it out. Pain shooting up my right leg through itband. A man and his son came and picked me up. I feel like I have rehased this into memory, so no more for here. I have a massage a Pointment for Monday night. I know to strenghthn my glutes. Let the real work and healing begin. I give praise for God watching over me and for Rex running a great first marathon!! Pocatello Marathon |
|
| | ran for the first time since the marathon - felt a hitch on my left outside knee @ half a mile so I turned back towards home...but then it was like it stretched out so I ran another mile weaving through the neighborhood.
