I have been more around a 9-9:15 average pace for the longest time. However, I am trying without the inhailer this month - I may need to see a specialist :(

| | Longest run since last September...was planning on running 9, but after running in Island Park this week, it felt good to be lower elevation and little hills. | | Starting to feel better - new drugs for Asthma...this is going to take some getting used to. We'll see if in a month I will be able to break the 9:30 pace I have had all spring and summer
| | breathing is getting better - however, I did use the emergency inhaler at about mile 3.75 ... not sure why the struggle was present, but it was and I was thankful I had it with me
| |
| | Longest run I have done in almost a year! The struggle was real, under hydrated, underfueld and it was hot. I felt everything on the last two miles, but I made it. Good news, I didn't use the rescue inhaler at all!! Of course I was also running a very slow pace, but I was still out there running and at this point, that makes me an extreamly happy Shan

Top of Utah Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:56:04 | | So lovely to have my own time with Shelley...It was cold at the top 40 degrees so thankful Gary had a blanket from the hotel for all four of us to huddle up in while waiting for an hour before the race began. Love this course as it wound its way down through the canyon... When I reached 7.5 miles my knees i-t band on both sides were screaming at me. However, I refused to stop and stretch, feeling they would lock up on me - so I pressed on. I slowed my pace for awhile, said some prayers for them not to lock up and that I could really enjoy running. After I GU'ed at mile 9 ish, I was feeling better and more energized. Again, I kept going focusing on my gait, shape and keeping it steady. The breakdown of miles and pace are as follows:
Mile One, 8:50, Two, 8:29,Three 8:32, four 8:35 five 8:22 six 8:33, seven 8:35 eight 9:11 nine 9:00 ten 8:49 elevn 8:55 twelve 9:00, thirteen 8:32 last quarter mile plus 8:20
