I remember calling everyone I knew the first time a ran 2 miles w/out stopping. I ran Mesa Falls half marathon @ 2:21 in fall 2009. I ran Salt Lake half marathon spring 2010 @ 1:54. Then I ran Missoula, MT full marathon summer 2010 @ 4:25. I was injured (IT Band) for Portland marathon (fall 2010) but went and picked up my packet anyway. Ran Ogden 4:26.... Short-Term Running Goals: Over the next two years, I would like to improve my strenghth and speed. Long-Term Running Goals: I WILL qualify and run Boston before I turn 40. I just turned 36 this year ~ Personal: In May, 2013, I will have been married to my love, Rex, for 16years. And it just keeps getting better and better! Two beautiful daughters. Emma (8) and Ali (5). | | Met up with Alana for an early morning run outside. It was good for me to 'chase' her - pushed my pace. I didn't wear a watch, but after hearing her splits, I think I averaged about an 8:45 pace. At this point, that is good for me running my fifth day in a row. Whew - so grateful for no injuries and running healthy, tired, but healthy. I feel yoga 5-7 times a week has really helped strengthen.

| | got up this morning really feeling my right shin. instead of listening to my body (too many hours in the car over the past few days? ) I pulled on my compression socks and went out for a run. I ran a warm up mile @ 8:48 pace then kicked into gear after re-starting my watch and ran another 3 miles @ 8:22 pace (too fast for my strength pace which should have been 8:32). Shin was really on fire then. Most of the way through SRL and stopped to chat with Rex on his way back. Expressed my pain and went to flex my foot up to check shin and really felt pain. I tried to run, but only made it 4 or 5 strides then had to walk. I back through SRL to the coffee house, went in to leave message on Rex's phone. I could not walk the 2.75 back to my house. My leg hurts now. Boo. I wonder how many days off it will need? I have ice on right now...sitting on the couch my first official day of summer break at home....on the couch... :(

| | I wore my new Saucony Ride (green) today - last time I wore them I had to take 4/5 days off for shin issues. Today, felt my upper shin on left leg pretty bad. not sure if ti is the shoes, but will not want to run my marathon in them...possibly some shorter runs with them. So I warmed up for a mile, then ran tempo for 10 miles @ 8:43 pace. Was spot on for most of the run (one mile I slacked off, but then made up for it the next and then kept at an even 8:43... feeling pretty weird. Back issues (into my right glute) shin, it-band and going a bit mental. like I'm not ready for 26.2 - Rex is helpful in adjusting my attitude, for that, I am grateful!

| | ran in NOLA - out early with Matt and Rex - ran the trolly tracks down St. Charles, past TULANE University, amazing churches, beautiful old manasions - the history is SO rich here. 93% humidity & 88 degrees at 4:30 in the morning when we took off. We were drenched by mile 2 - CRAZY, but loved it. Found a park to do a mile loop (hence the extra mile than I expected to run today) on the way back - couldn't resist!
