Teton Dam Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:58:07 | | Rex, Matt and I went to Rexburg to kick start summer with a half! The longest I had run was one 10 miler, so I was a little nervous to run 13.1...but it was beautiful weather, sunshine, not too hot and felt great. I was ready to be done when I saw the finish line and was able to kick it in at the last quarter to finish strong! GREAT day - Rex won the race so that was a total bonus. 92 people ran the half today

| | Okay - I got the flu...very terrible...last week. Then I had shin issues on my right foot - so now after 6 days off from running I went out this morning. Felt great, but was starting to feel my shin so I walked the last three quarters of a mile. So technically I only ran 3.25 ish of the four, but put four miles on my shoes so I am going to count it for now. Hope my shin continues to heal. Lots of dixie cups of ice to rub on it. We take off for Spokane tomorrow and then Canada for a week. Really hoping to log some miles in the next few weeks!

| | Ran in Spokane - stomach is really acting up as is the shin. I will take tomorrow as a rest day (trying to ease this dang shin back into running) and hopefully my belly will be better by then as well. We are in Pentictan BC now with Clark and family - so nice...

| | Trying hard not to be frustrated --- my right shin is killing me. I was able to run 1.5 without issue, but then my shin began its pain....finished at Skaha Lake here in BC so Clark, Jill, Rex and I were able to strip our socks and shoes to get into the lake, nice beach sand, which does not seem to help my shin (uneven ground). Well, I start another graduate class today - so I shall ice lots, then have more beach time in the late afternoon/evening. Hopefully I can play, but sitting in the sunshine on the beach isn't too bad either.

Pocatello Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 02:08:13 | | Wow. I love this half marathon, I just was not in a good place to run it. i-t band issues on both legs, I have been batteling with my right leg and hamstring for about 4 weeks now. I was good the first five miles, then it went south from there. I had to stop and stretch every half mile after that. I tried to hobble/run for the remainder 8 miles...the last four were brutal. However, I do love running and will get to a better place. Just need time to heal and strengthen up. I think where my milage had been sooo low the last few weeks, I became too tight.
Here's to finishing, loving on Rex who ran the marathon and qualifed for Boston with a 3:11 finishing time.
