| After talks with coaches, we officially decided to redshirt this season. Whew. Disappointing in some ways, but mostly a big relief. Since I'm not competing this season, there really isn't any point in doing speed work until Indoor. So, today I just did some cardio. Started off with TWO miles outside on the TRACK! Super great! And it didn't hardly at all! Much better than either treadmill option. Then Coby made me do 35 minutes on the watermill, blah. But tomorrow I get to do weights for the first time in a couple months and hopefully I'll get to run a little more on the track!!

| Went to weights, rode bike for 30 minutes, then did elliptical for 15 minutes. Exercises, then a rub out of calves and arches by Coby.

| Ran 1.5 miles on the track, then ran another 1.5 miles on it. Not bad on the foot, just my left shin has started being super painful. Ugh. After the runnings, biked for 40 minutes, then did my exercises.

| Ran 3 miles in a row! On the grass inside the track, to try to make my shin not hurt so much. Still hurt though. Blah. Foot only hurt a bit on the last 3 laps. Then 20 minutes of biking. And stuff. Iced my shin and foot afterwards.

| Since the shin is being buggy, just biked for an hour today. Read "The Pale Horse" by Agatha Christie and listened to Keane as I did so. Then exercises and home.

| This kinda doesn't count as a race today, since I wasn't supposed to race it, but I did the IWA 5k "Run for your life" this morning. The course was just a couple loops around campus. I think my time was somthing like 18:00, so I'm certain it was short, probably something like 2.6 or 2.7 miles. Oh well. I won and that was fun... but it's not like there was any great competition going on, what with all 30 female contestants (that's a high estimate) jogging the course with me. My shin was pretty sore throughout the race, but my foot felt quite good. Due to my orthotics, I got a nickel-sized blister on each of my arches, unfortunately. Still, 'twas fun to get out and run on the road again!
