Got up at some ungodly hour to run down the marathon course with Mike. Went pretty nicely, some slow miles and some fast. I think I'll stick with running with him post-marathon, that way I don't get forced to run sub-7:00's the whole way down! Legs still felt a bit tired out, good thing we took it easy. Had to add on a bit at the end to get to my 2 hours, but Mike was kind enough to help me out. (GT 217.8)

A little bit of tempo this morning. Did the PV loop, started the 10x1:30 pushes (@3 w/2:00 jog recovery) just past Wendy's. The pushes went reasonably well, most were .22-.23 miles with one .21 where I kinda failed. Still, they went a lot better than last week's! Saw Ells and Steve on the run and exchanged some pleasantries. 'Twas nice. (GT 229.1)

Had to sneak out to avoid a creeper neighbor, but finally got on the road to do the Bloomington loop. Clyde came up behind me a few miles in and we ran together for the rest of my run basically. It was a good run and fun to have some company. After, I went to the gym and did my weight circuit. (GT 237.3)

Put on my crazy five-fingers shoes and did a couple miles with my cousin around the park.

Ran from Cassie's house in Bountiful out to Main and just ran on it out through Centerville and Farmington and back. On the way back, I did 8x20 second pushes @ 4.5 with 1:00 recovery. It rained a bit!! 'Twas so great! And I couldn't resist the urge to run through the huge sprinklers at Viewmont High. So I was pretty drenched when I finished. :) Did 10 minutes of abs when I got back, since I had no access to weights. (GT 257.3)

After all day yesterday painting, plus an all-nighter drive back down from Logan, went running at 6 am on the extended LV loop. Very odd feeling, my legs and body were basically numb from exhaustion, so it was surprisingly easy to run at a good pace. (GT 263.3)

Met up with the club and we drove up the marathon course to run back down. Holt dropped me off a bit after Scott, so I spent the first mile or so catching up to him so I could have some company. Found out that my watch was totally out of batteries, so we stuck together basically the entire way, he stopped for water or to readjust his new inserts a couple times, so I'd just keep running, then turn back around and rejoin him the few times he did (I was keeping track of my run time by clock since I couldn't use my stopwatch). Run went pretty well, felt pretty exhausted and ready to be done by about 10 miles, but I survived! We got back to the old running store and I still had about 12 minutes to go (I blame Holt and his inability with math for that one), so I had to run around the theatre and such a couple times until I was done. Glad to be done with the week and excited to be moving up to Logan soon! (GT 279.8)

Got out and did the PV loop this morning, with 12x1:30 pushes at 3 with the last 20 seconds at 5. And 2:00 jog recovery between. Got to the high school at 46 minutes, so I took a potty break, then started my pushes from the school. Felt a bit tired overall on the workout, but they were pretty consistent once I got going. Nice to have the hard day out of the way! Only one week until I move!!! (GT 291.3)

Did the Fields loop backwards, stopped at Summit to do the weight circuit, then finished the run. Felt pretty good, a little tired. (GT 299.3)

Ran up the trail that parallels Hilton, then up Bluff for a while until I got to turn around and go home. On the way back, I took a detour at Staples. Fun times. (GT 310.3)

Went out on the Bloomington loop with an extension at the end around the park. Felt super exhausted the whole time, probably should've eaten something besides milk and candy yesterday. Did 8x20 second pushes, which were pretty pathetic. (GT 318.9)

Got up way too early and had Tim drop me off up on the marathon course (about 10.5 miles past the old running store) then I ran all the way home from there, by way of Bluff and the Hilton-Vermillion trail. Went really well, just the last mile or two I got pretty tired out and thirsty. My feet have been acting up most of this week, so I did the run in my old Kayanos, which were a tiny bit better on the feet, but worse for my hamstring. Bleh. (K 683.7)

Before moving up to Logan, got up early and did the PV loop with 12x1:30 pushes @ 3 with the last 20 sec at 5 with 2:00 jog recovery. went pretty well, last couple I was tired out a lot, the whole moving thing wears me out. (GT 336.3)

From my new house, ran through campus and up to the Bonneville trail for a ways, then back. My body isn't liking the altitude change much. (GT 344.3)

At team XC camp this morning, we did an hour-long time trial at 7:00 pace. Back and arms were still pretty sore from moving boxes and furniture, but I kept us right on pace with the Garmin and it felt surprisingly good. About 6 of us stayed at pace the whole way and we have tons of new freshmen, so I'm super excited about how well our team will do this season!! (GT 354.4)

Coach took us out to an awesome trail on Beaver mountain this morning. It started off way cold, but a few miles in we warmed up and had a fun time chatting. The trail through Gibson Basin and back down to the cars was super fun, about 6 of us just flew down the trails and had a total blast. (GT 362.9)

Went out from our cabin in Bear Lake on the main road for a half hour, then back. Amber and I had fun goofing around and talking. Randomly, I ran into my cousin Camille (who lives in Sandy) who was running the same way we were. Funny stuff! The run was pretty fast with Jessie being spastic on the way out and a need for a potty break on the way back. (GT 370.9)

Did an altered version of the Providence loop from my new house this morning, it's so nice to not have to get up at 4 or 5 to avoid burning to death! Kinda died the last 45 minutes from the altitude and general fatigue, though. After, I got to go get some awesome breakfast at Dona and Reeder's house. Dona makes the best breakfast ever. Mmm. Ran to Elkridge park and did a half hour of 400's on a grass loop there. Coach just told us to do as many as we could in the 30 minutes, so Jessie and I just decided to go moderately fast continuously. We did about a 6:30 first mile barefoor, took a small break, did another 2 laps, put shoes on, did another mile, took a small break, did another mile, took my shoes off, then did 3 more laps before the time was out. The elevation up here is still killing me, but overall the workout was pretty good. Then we ran back to the track for a cooldown. (GT 392.7)

Went out with Julia for 45 minutes on 8th east, then ran down 10th for a while and back up to my place to finish up the hour. (GT 400)

Later in the afternoon, I ran to weights (about 3/4 mile) and then lifted. 'Twas a bit harder than last year, but not too bad.

Easy run later this morning since I didn't have class today. Woo hoo! Went on the canal trail (and ended up trekking across the landslide area, oops) then around on the canyon road, up main and back home via 1250 north. (GT 416.8)

In the afternoon, I ran to weights where the weight coaches proceeded to attempt killing us. It was no fun, hopefully I can walk tomorrow.

Got up freaking early for practice because most of my teammates are wimps and can't handle 90 degree weather. So, in the dark cold morning, we ran up to the Quad and did a few laps of indian runs, then a bunch of strides across it and did a mini-relay with strides too. Pretty easy. Then we ran back to the track (and then I ran back home). (GT 422.8)

Got up at 8:30 this morning, but really didn't feel like running. So I went back to sleep. Then I was going to go at noon, but still didn't want to go. And at 3 nearly went again. Finally at 6:30 I got out the door and ran to first dam and up Logan canyon until third dam and back. Once I got onto the trails and started enjoying myself, I was super glad I'd made myself go run. That trail is just so great! (GT 437.3)

We all drove out to AWHC and did our workout there to get ready for the meet on Saturday. Warmed up for a few minutes, then ran the course a couple times with 6 half-mile pushes throughout. The pushes were pretty quick (5:40-6:20 pace for all) but went pretty well and felt reasonably good. (GT 444.8)
