| I drove up to the top of Bison Rd. and then ran the dirt road/trail up past Bison Falls until the trail ran out. Then I turned around and ran back down. It was overcast this morning and even sprinkled on me for a few minutes. I was hoping it would rain but no such luck. It was 93 degrees when I started my run at 5:30 this morning.

| I felt good enough to run again this morning and it was only 78 degrees out so I couldn't pass that up. That's a good 15 degrees cooler than our normal low compared to the last few weeks.

| 10 miles on Bonneville Shoreline Trail. It was fun and cold. The combination of altitude and steep climbs had my HR well above were it was supposed to be...avg 155.

| One final trail run on my quick vacation in cooler temps.
13 miles on the Mink Creek Trail with a loop around Elk Meadow then back. It rained pretty hard last night so the trail was muddy and very slippery in parts. I kept upright the whole way until with about a quarter mile to go my foot caught a phantom rock and down I went pretty hard right into the mud.

| I had the vacation is over blues this morning and didn't get out of bed until I had to go to work so when I got home from work the thermometer read 114 (it was 58 degrees and raining on my run yesterday in Pocatello) so I decided to bike.
20 miles, drank 2 large water bottles.

| 12 trail miles through the desert. 97 degrees. I finished off my 70 oz. hydration pack either about a mile and a half to go. Up in the mountains I only carried a handheld bottle and I didn't even finish it on my 13 mile run.

| I checked the forecast this morning and I said we should get some rain and cooler weather this afternoon. Sure enough around 3:00 the rain started and the temp dropped to 80. That was my cue to go running.

| After taking 3 lazey days in a row (I can't rember the last time I didn't exercise for 3 straight days.), I headed out with Blake this morning for a 20 mile bike ride. I expected to feel fresh and strong, but the opposite was true. My legs were heavy.
After the bike ride I did a 5 mile trail run which was pretty sluggish as well.

| I figured I'd head out into the desert for a long adventure run this morning. I loaded my hydration pack with the water bladder, 2 water bottles, a baggie of S-Caps, and a few homemade gu packs. I ran some trails I haven't run before. It was crazy with really steep up and downs for the first hour and a half, then it became more runnable for the second half of the run but the trail was very loose sand which wasn't easy to run. It's a good thing I finished when I did because with about a mile to go I finished off all 100 ounces of my water.

| 20 mile bike ride. As I was plugging along keeping my HR under 140 (which by the way is way easier on a bike than running.) Blake rode up behind me and we rode together for about 5 or 6 miles. It was a pleasant surprise this morning.
