Personal:

Married with 2 lively boys. I love running and I love getting faster. Just trying to figure out how to balance life between being a mother, wife, part time nurse, and runner. :)

When I was in 6th grade I filled out a Getting to Know You sheet. Under nicknames I wrote, "My brothers call me Boo Legs, I think its because I run fast." (It really came from the movie, Strange Brew) And its been my family nickname ever since.

Long run. Average pace 8:39. This was difficult for me. I was good until about mile 13 and the wind picked up and seemed to get stronger against me as I stumbled home. Crying/sick kids were waiting for me at home. Awesome. :)

1 mile warm up. Mile repeats x4 with 1/2 mile recovery. I did this on a treadmill so each one was right at 6:40. This workout is so much harder on a treadmill!

Easy run. As long as I'm upright, my back doesn't hurt. Its when I try to bend over that feel like an old lady.

Breaking up the run into segments made it go by so much faster. 6 miles easy. 3 miles at marathon pace (7:32, 7:31, 7:18) 2 easy miles. 3 marathon pace miles (7:25, 7:25, 7:23) 2 miles cool down. My goal marathon pace is 7:25-7:30. I felt good. Much better than last weeks long run.

Did some 1/4 mile fast laps around the park by my house with about 1.5 min recovery. Fastest pace I saw on those was 5:45. Don't know what that translates to in seconds and I'm too lazy to figure it out.

Definitely ready to be done at the end of this run. Average pace 8:30. Now I'm trying to sit on my butt as much as my children will let me. (Which is not much.)

Outside miles followed by some plyometrics at the park. About halfway through my box jumps I had the thought, "man, I'm getting tired." Then BAM! I didn't quite make it and landed on my shin. 2 swollen goose eggs and a few swearwords later I hobbled home.
