Married with 2 lively boys. I love running and I love getting faster. Just trying to figure out how to balance life between being a mother, wife, part time nurse, and runner. :)

When I was in 6th grade I filled out a Getting to Know You sheet. Under nicknames I wrote, "My brothers call me Boo Legs, I think its because I run fast." (It really came from the movie, Strange Brew) And its been my family nickname ever since.

Back to marathon training. 1st tempo run. Aaaand it was kinda painful. I 've had an emotionally and mentally exhausting week with no air conditioning since Monday morning. Lets blame it on that. Average pace for the tempo portion was 7:19.

Ran down to the track at Alta High. 5x800 meter repeats with 400 meter recovery between each.

Pleasantly surprised with how this turned out. I feel like I have gotten slow and sluggish since my marathon last month. I thought this workout would kill me but turns out, it didn't. I feel good about that.

I had to front load my miles this week due to a family reunion. Every 4th mile I did a marathon paced mile (7:25). I liked this. It was a good way to mentally break up the run. Now its party time.
