First Race this year and first real speed workout.  This was the beginning of a crazy busy day! I got up at 4:00am and drove to Provo.  I ran into my assistant coach Greg Shaw picking up my packet.  We ran into our fellow track coach Bryan Nicholson at the buses, small world!

It was cold up the canyon, but it was great during the race.  Greg and I warmed up for 1 mile and then lined up.  I wanted to run 6:00 pace today, this being my first speed all year and me being sore still, plus an easy course.  Greg and I took off slower and kept the pace.  I felt good until mile 5 when I missed the water and was given Gatorade.  A mile later I was cramping in my stomach.  Greg left me around mile 6-7.  I got some water about mile 9ish and felt better again until the end.  No one passed me the whole race, so I'll take it.  Felt good to run faster again, I am excited to run again once I get some good speed work in this year.  1:18:42 for the run.

Afterward I drove home showered, drove to Brigham City to the Temple for the sealing of my sister in-law and her husband to their newly adopted daughter.  Then drove right back home to our Herriman Twilight Track Invite and was there until 10:30pm.  Long day!
