Welcome Misty! How fun to have another running widow on the blog. There are several of us. I started running and blogging about a year ago, but my hubby is a long-time running addict. Great job with the training! I am pretty much working on the same goals. I have had some faster times in the past, but I want to get back to them. They were all pre-baby and 50lbs ago.......

Ya I started running to lose weight after my three girls I've lost 100 but I also joined weight watchers. I would like to get faster times also and I keep trying but it is not coming very fast. I feel better anyways after I run so as is well.

Did the Bear Lake 10 with Daughter.   It turns out that it was longer than a 10k, ok but then there was no water at all.  I was ok would have felt better with a drink, but felt bad for my 12 year old duaghter that was running with me.  She tryed to ditch me at the end and I had to do the full out sprint to tie with her, I looked like an idiot but no one knows me so who cares.  It was a nice day, and a fun run.

When I call my dad in Argentina to tell him how I did in a race, he asks "So did you win?" - he cannot grasp the concept of racing when you know you have no chance of winning! You should train your girls to ask him if he won every time he comes back from a race.

Went to Bear lake for the long weekend and got up with Walter and Danielle and they dropped me and my sister off at 14 miles while they went to 20 to run. My sister rode her bike by me while I ran, glad it was so dark and such a long way by myself.  She carried on a good conversation and I was glad she agreed to run with me.  Felt great when I was done, the first 10 miles felt great the last 4 were hard.

Sheesh, no wonder you are sore, wonderwoman!

Which muscles do you think are used most in a spin class? You think you can ask your sister for me? (I think you said she's a spin instructor...) - After a run I feel different leg muscles sore, and my knees of course - but even though during the spin class I feel like I'm giving everything I've got, the next day my legs don't feel sore/tired from it. Do yours?

Sorry I haven't checked my mail forever!! My sister told me that the quads get used the most but the reason why you don't feel sore after spinning is because of the way your muscles contract. It has to do with Eccentic and Concentric or something like that the jest of it is that when you spin the muscles are pulling back in and when you run your leg muscle push out. If you don't get this I can have my sister explain it better she is also a exercise Phy. major. She said to keep spinning as a cross training because it will keep you from injury of over use. It will also help build muslce strength with out pain or leg soreness.

It was a beautiful saturday morning. The weather held up for us and it was in the 40's! Very nice. I started out running with Charity and Walter, Danielle, and Bill caught up to us at mile 2.5. We turned around at that point and the others kept going straight. I made it back to the parking lot and Charity had to go to work so I ran back a mile and found them and ran back to the parking lot to make 7 miles.
