I have run 12 marathons, 5 since major surgery in 2005. My fastest was Leipzig in 1992. 3 hours 11 minutes 48 seconds. The Mesa-Phx Marathon on February 25, 2017 was the fastest since my surgery at 4:26:59.
Short-Term Running Goals:
I want to improve on my last Marathon time. After the Phoenix Marathon that I ran February 25, 2017 I want to focus on shorter races and do a sprint tri. I did improve about 45 minutes faster on the Mesa-Phx Marathon over the last Petrified Forest Marathon and about 27 minutes faster than the last time I ran the Mesa-Phx Marathon.
Long-Term Running Goals:
Continue to run and work on my speed. Do shorter races and a sprint tri in the next year.
Personal:
I have been an educator for 32 years. My wife, Margaret, and I have 6 children and at the present time 6 grandchildren. Running helps to keep me level. I love it and hope to continue to run for many years to come.
1.11 and 1.10 miles at 9:44 and 9:42 paces. Venice Italy on the beach. Ave. HR 132 and 123. Training effect was 1.7 and 2.1. Cadence was high for both segments. Elevation was minimum at negative 22 feet to 3 feet above sea level maximum.
