PRs: Fleet Feet Turkey Trot 5k- 19:46;  St. George Marathon  3:07:11(2013-- coming back from the dead)  Utah Valley Marathon 2011- 3:09:13 : D  1st place Master Division, 7th Overall; Mt. Nebo 1/2 Marathon 2011- 1:19:35- 2nd Overall,  first master. Ogden Marathon 3:14  (2010); 10K 2011 Speedy Spaniard 40:47.  I have run 43 marathons: 17 St. George (1995, 2006-2019, 2024,2025). Utah Valley (2011, 2014, 2025), Eiluj (2011), Deseret News (2015: 3:40 pacer  & 2023, 2025),  Ogden (2009, 2010), Boston (1996,2012,2014,2018, 2024,2025)Top of Utah (1999, 2011 pacer), and SLC (2006,2015), Pocatello (3:40 pacer 2012),park city marathon 3:41:53 (2013), and Big Cottonwood pacer (2017,2018,2025),  Nebo Marathon 340 pacer (2024)Timp trail marathon (2021) and three Ultras-Squaw Peak 51.25 miler 2010 in 12:05:27 (9th woman) and  Antelope Island  (32 miler) in  March 2011 (4th overall in 5:10:25) and in 2009.

 

Short-Term Running Goals:

2025-   Ran five marathons - 4/21 Boston 3:40, 6/7 Utah Valley 3:33, 7/24 Des News 3:41, 9/13 Big Cottonwood (pacer) 3:37, and INJURED BADLY ran SG #17 10/4 having not run since big C - 4:00:29. KNEE was giving me grief since utah valley, just before and it blew UP in Big C and had to stop running for a few months but I had signed up for Boston 2026 so here goes 2026 recovery...

2026 RUNNING GOALS:

Boston 2026 goal under 4 hours.

Marathon--  PR (3:06 or better)

8 easy out and back on canal toward temple and back.  Amber sore throat.  went easy.  was only going to be 4 with amber then she suggested 6 turning at bathrooms and then i said how about to 4 out and back and she didn't have time so we only went out to 3.56 and back.  7.2 miles and the thunder was happening then large rain drops when we finished then for my last 0.8 miles I got walloped with a downpour and hale and high winds. avg pace 9:20. first mile 10:19. last mile 8:36.  hr=144.

2 WU  9:24 avg   Started 10 pace increased pace every 1/4 mile by 0.1 mph  

20 x 90 seconds fast  2 min chill 

6:35 x 5, 6:31 x 5, then alternate 6:35/6:31 x 8.  Then 6:31 then 6:00-6:31 for last one for 90 seconds,   (4.6 miles) 

9:30 pace for the 2 min.  (4.2 miles)

CD to 12 miles (1.2 miles) 9:13-8:27 pace. 
I started about 9:30 am or later.  It was very hard for me to be motivated to do this because my bronchitis came back last night and I took a zinc at like 5 AM and all I could taste was that and I had some issues with the D word in the morning also  But once I got going the more, I did the better I felt and stronger I felt although I was a sweat fast so I definitely needed to stop. There was nothing at all. That was dry on me.

6 miles recovery pathetically slow.  Sore slightly and feel tired so barely moved in this jog. 10:05 pace.  Around neighborhood.  Warm morning. But not too much.  Sunny.  129 HR.   Tapering

1 mile WU  10 pace by Angie front stiff TM (new), talk 10 min

0.3 warmup again  9:46 avg on second tm because i cooled off

2 mile tempo  started right in 7:41 pace (but tm takes like 20 secs to get there) then to 7:24 at about 0. 75 miles and 6:44 or last 0.1 to make  up for the long time to get to pace) so 15:11 (7:35 avg)

0.5 jog  9:31 avg right to this cool down

1 mile faster  (tm suddenly stopped 4 min in of 7:08 pace) had to put key back in and restart and did 0.53 miles (says 7:24 avg???  bc of that stupid 20 secs to pace issue, but really had it at 7:08 pace entire time and got to like 6:44 for a teeny bit) over kill bc didn't really remember exactly what min the key fell out.  Basically take out 20 secs and that 7:04 so that is more like it. 

0.25 jog  9:31 avg

0.5 mile faster   6:41 for this  I don't think I tried any faster  

1/2 mile cool down about 9:10 avg *9:22 to 8:41.
