AM- 6. Pretty slow, but who really cares. Nice to not have an alarm this morning, although I still woke up before 7. Actually, my wife had been asked to take a neighbor to the airport at 4 am, so I actually woke up then, first, then took a while to sleep again. Going blueberry picking after Marci returns from soccer, then bbq tonight. Hot here, upper 90's to 100's all week, plus humidity. Retired my shoes today. I have lots of pair over 400 miles, and no test shoes right now, so I'll be having to grab some of the dozen+ new shoes from the boxes in my closet.

My dad had emergency heart surgery in India last night. Reports are he is doing ok, with several stents put in. Praying for him. I think the only people that will even read this are my parents plus Rob, and maybe a couple others.

Happy Independence Day, everyone! Also known as Secession Day (yes, I live in the South now)

Hope all is well with your dad and it's a smooth recovery.

I'm sorry about your dad but glad he's ok. I feel like I know him after reading his book!

Thanks, Glen and Rob. I'll have to remember I have at least one or two other readers.

I'll be the first to admit I used to regularly check dozens of FRB's, now I only check a few, and not often. It's pretty much a personal journal now that I make public.

I've noticed that much of the recent FRB growth seems to be high school runners in Utah, which I think is great. They certainly take over the Race Reports list after a track meet.

Sorry about your dad, he is in my prayers. Hoping for a good recovery and prognosis.

I check in on you fairly often if for no other reason than to make sure Albuquerque Turkey hasn't taken you out.

Best wishes and speedy recovery to your dad.

Jason, I heard 2 separate incidents of where the turkey attacked runners in the past few months and they grabbed a log and beat the tar out of it, leaving it stunned on the ground. Yet he still keeps chasing runners. Next time he chases me again, it might be my turn to deliver a beating.

From Jason D on Thu, Jul 07, 2016 at 22:05:25 from 68.80.27.222

I know they can be aggressive, but that turkey has a screw loose. They aren't as good as store-bought turkey in case you were wondering :-)
