| | 5.0 in 38:23. 7:41 avg pace. Ran out towards Saratoga and back. Felt really good today. Last two miles were 7:20, which is fast for me right now. Motivation has been low lately. Wish I were running STG tomorrow. I need to sign up for a race to get me going again. | Add Comment |
| | 4.0 in 30:29 before going to play basketball at 6:00 am. Played for 2 hours. Went to gym and lifted for 35 min and then ran 9.0 on the TM while watching conference. Basketball kills my body now days and I'm pretty sure that tomorrow and Monday my body will be hashed. It was fun though. |

| | 8.0 in 1:01:32. 7:42 avg pace. Great run up 300 west and back home. Good weather and just caught a good groove this morning. Almost glad that I didn't run STG this year after hearing about the heat. Sounded brutal. |

7.0 in 54:42. 7:49 avg pace. Old church route and out towards the freeway a bit and then back. No energy. I was surprised I went as fast as I did.
PM 3.0 on the TM. Not very good miles.

5.0 in 36:43. 7:20 avg pace. Got to bed late, so I decided I would sleep in and then only run 5 miles at a faster than usual pace. Went out towards Saratoga and back. Miles 2-4 were: 7:12, 6:58, 6:50. I felt pretty good. Feels good to get out of the slow rut and go a bit faster.
PM 5.0 in 39:32. 7:55 avg pace. Went from my house out towards Saratoga. Just nice and easy. Good, relaxing run.

| | 16.15 in 2:10:12. 8:04 avg pace. Went up and down Provo Canyon starting at 6:30. Ran with Mark the whole way until the last two miles. Was a little cold. Legs didn't feel that great for most of the run and I was starving hungary after about 11 miles. Water fountains were turned off at Nunns and Vivian. Ran miles 15 and 16 in 6:42 and 6:54. Overall, a good run. |

16.25 in 2:06:27. 7:47 avg pace. Started just after 6 am and ran close to home today. I didn't want to fight the head wind and cold of Provo Canyon.
Headed east on Pioneer Crossing and then hit a side road and eventually connected with Main St. in A.F. Connected to the Alpine Highway and made the long climb into Alpine. This is easily the longest part of this run for me. Eventually I get to the main intersection in Alpine by the Kohlers and then I get on the main road that leads out to the freeway. Lots of construction up there, but it was early enough that it wasn't too bad to run this road. Eventually I get to Smith's Mktplace and then I make my way to 300 West and then head back home via Center St. I was laboring around mile 13 and luckily I had brought some money and so I stopped at a gas station and refueled with some Powerwade. I was a new man after that. Hit miles 15 and 16 in 6:51 and 6:30. I felt good for the most part. This was my longest run in the Kinvaras. They felt good. I really like them. I was lucky enough to find a couple drinking fountains along the way, which helped a lot. Will go lift for about 30 min.

6.75 in 53:59. 8:00 min avg pace. Ran over to 700 South and went as far east as I could. Crossed over the RR tracks and went towards Main St. a bit. Came back the same way, but added a bit. Threw in some strides.
PM 5.0 in 38:59. 7:48 avg pace. Started at jr. high and went towards Willow Park. My bro. and I both got into Boston. Glad we registered early today.

| | 16.25 in 2:07:11. 7:50 avg pace. Same route as last Saturday. Last 4 miles or so were low 7's. Felt pretty good once I got going. Feel like I've been on the dead run for the last 4 days. |

| | 7.50 in 59:52. 7:59 avg pace. Did almost half of the short cemetary loop and then turned around and came back the same way. It was bitter cold any time I was running north or west, which is where the wind was coming from. |

| | 5.25 in about 40:00. Right around 7:40 pace. Went up Center and back essentially. Weather was the best it's been all week and I felt good. Looking forward to racing tomorrow. I'm going to have fun with it and hopefully just come in around the 1:30:00 mark.........and I am promising myself to start slow and be the one that is passing people at the end and not getting passed. |

Provo Halloween Half (13.1 Miles) 01:24:54 | |
As I mentioned yesterday, I really wanted to have a good time at this race, and that meant no pressure to hit a certain time and starting off conservatively so that I could push at the end. My plan worked great. This was probably my best racing experience of the year. Starting off easy made all the difference in the world for me. No need to show mile splits since the mile markers were all over the place. Course may have been short, but I'm sure running down the first canyon could easily make your garmin lose satellite. This race is getting big now. Last year it was relatively small, but it is getting more and more popular. It was great to go relatively slow the first 5 miles (which are ridiculously fast) and then eventually pass most of the people during the last 3 miles that had passed me at the beginning. I can tell I've lost some fitness over the last month, but this was a great way to get in some faster miles. This course has got to be close to being as fast as Hobble Creek. Great costumes, great race, and glad I did it.
