Yesterday we found a college track and decide to do it the next morning. I have also have been having Achilles pain due the all the walking and running on concrete i have been doing. So today we did it. It was a mile and a quater to the track so that and 3 laps on the track were our warmups. Then we did the trial. With achilles pain and sore legs i ran a 5:41, my new mile PR. | | 6 miles today at track. The track coach threw a tantum (no joke for no reason) and sent everyone home without praticing. I stayed because i nedd to train, so i went out to the track did a 2 mile warmup( in the rain and wind alone) then continued into 400m with 200m rest repeats, 6 of them, 85-70 seconds goal. I did them. The slowest was 82 seconds and the fastest 74. Two mile cooldown and then walked home. Really understanding what a diehard runner is and i am happy to be one of them. :)

| | 7.5 miles at track. Today i went a little slower, well i planned on it. 2 mile warmup and then ran hard for 5 minutes and rested for 2-3 minutes. We did 4 of these and i averaged 3 and 1/2 laps. I out ran everyone else by 550 meters. On one them i ran 3 and 3/4 laps in 5 minutes!!!!!! so i had a 100m left which means i probably could have just ran a 5:15ish mile!!!!!!!! On a dirt track!!!! I wasn't working really overly hard so i think i could go even faster!!!!! 1 mile cool down, feeling awesome!!!!

Sandcreek Meet (1 Miles) 00:05:33, Place overall: 4 | | The Sandcreek meet today. I am frustrated with the running on the track with people cutting me off and guys running on the inside of the lines and not getting DQ'd.
800m in 2:34 for 4th. Outkicked a couple of kids in the last 100m.
1600m in 5;33 new PR! 4th place though as I let the race get away from me in front and did not keep with the front 2 guys. I am going to RACE the conference champs next week and not let them get away.

Today we did a time trialto see what i should aim for in conference. a slow 3 mile to begin the day. the time trial i ran my new PR, 5:12 in the mil and 5:10 in the 1600m. i finished thinking it was slow but actually in was right where i wanted it. If it were a offical it would have beat any other time in the regionand broke the record, set in 2006! 4 mile cooldown. I feel great, not really sore at all, just tired.

Redfish Lake Memorial Run Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:45:38, Place overall: 12, Place in age division: 3 | | Today was my first Half Marathon. I was really excite and ready just to have fun in it. First mile i went out way to hard. I was supposed to be running 7:15 miles but the first one was 5:38. Way to fast for a really really hilly course. Next 2 were okay and i could see the people in front of me. miles 3-5 were fun in a nice single track trail run section. after that we went on the road and then we climbed a huge hil, i mean huge and it was made out sand. that stunk but i kept at 7:10 pace. Miles 6-10 sucked because i was tired and alone. at 9 i took my first glu and kept running alone. made it to 11 when guy came up to me and ran with me. He was nice but he started moving up and i couldnt Dad came at mile 12 and 12.5 i hit the wall. i was not liking the run and was yelling but somehow i finished, and got 12th, 9th male and 3rd in the giant age group of 10-19. ( i got beat by 2 seniors.) not bad for my first race and felt good after words.

| | First day of summer training. Tempo Day!!! So i was supposed to run 4 miles at 6:1o pace but i got competive with myself and decided to try to run as fast as i can for as long as i can. I ran 2.01 miles in 10:40, 2 5:20 miles. It was really haed and it sucked but i just ran faster then i did at conference and doubled the distance. i was alone on the road the whole time and i did it!!!!! Freaked out a bunch of walkers while doing it. Warmup mile the a cooldown mile. In the evening i did 2.25 with Dad around neighborhoood at 6:35 pace and felt a little stiff but fine.

Here are my spilts( each set of numbers is a mile time): 5:36, 6:14, 6:49, 7:23, 7:02, 7:37, 7:33, 7:12, 7:10, 7:16, 7:21, 7:31, 7:18 and for the .1 i did that in 32 seconds. i was feeling good for the entire race and had a lot more fun then my first half. Idaho Falls Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:29:36, Place overall: 14, Place in age division: 1 | | So i got back from camp last night, i haveing got very little sleep and rest for my legs, i was nervous for tommorrows race. I did great. It was my fastest Half ever and my legs feel alot better after this one then the one a week before. It was a fast course with a very steep first qaurter and then flat the rest of the way. I ran 1:29:36 and won my age group by 8 minutes. I was 14 overall and the 10 male, I am really happy with this race!!!!!!

Started off ok but then the weather was cold and very wet with lots of rain all night long! Boys went and within the first 200m i was elbowed in the stomach. it knocked the wind out of me and i had trouble getting back into my rythem. it was a very hot day, the race had no shade. i ended up coming across in 20:20, not my ideal time, and as 8th not my ideal place. so i am top of the JV now which will be good, for now. beat my main competion, i threew up three times after the race....

Cardinal Classic (3.1 Miles) 00:19:11, Place overall: 19, Place in age division: 2 | | Race today. Woke up and got on the bus at 6:30. then we drove down to Soda Springs to race 26 other teams. This race i raced in JV and top 20 (they said 15 orignally) got medals. We walked the course and saw the one hill in it. It was big but i knew if i was patient i could climb it. I watched the middle school kids run and then JV girls. As we were standing on the line the weather turned bad and the wind picked up, but off we went. Matthew was in front with me when a certain other JV runner who had said he could beat Matthew and I, bolted off. Then we got to the hill and we tucked in behind this kid. He was working and breathing to hard while matthew and i were relaxed and patient. We get to the top and we open up and lost the other runner. Last 1200m in the woods i am having stomach problems and promptly throw up into the trees without stopping or slowing down!! Now i am feeling better and Matthew is still in front by a little. Last 400m, we come in sight of the finish line and just go into a sprint Matthew crosses at 19:01 and i at 19:11. we both medal!!! My time actually beat 2 varsity runner's times so matthew and i both will be running varsity at Tiger Grizz!!!!!! oh about the kid who said he could beat Matthee and I, he finished 4 minutes after us. If you want to talk the talk you better be able to walk the walk!!!!! or in this case, the run.

This is my first race as varsity runner and i was really excited! 38 teams were there so it was the biggest race yet. i raced at 5. The JV raced and Andrew's time would put him on varsity. so we started and within 300m Matthew tripped. he got back up and was on my shoulder again. i ran my first mile in 5:52, right on target. Next mile had the hills so i tucked in and was ready. I cruised through the hills and made it past the last one at the 800m mark. i thought matthew was on my shoulder so i kicked like i have never kicked before. i was 2 spots away from getting my other teammate. next time i will.

| | hardest run ever. Sand dune workout. We went to the sand dunes and did hill and sprint workouts. i had to do 5 repeats of running up a very steep 400m sand hill..... at race pace. it was a hard day but a fun one. Isaac Andy and i were running like nomads!!!!

Century Co-Ed Challenge (3.11 Miles) 00:19:24, Place overall: 52, Place in age division: 8 | | race day but this race is just a chance to work my legs. Coach worked us hard this week and this race is kinda weak. i mean they pair the fastest boy and fastest girl on each team so the other pairs on the team have no chance at winning. also the race isnt the best organized so today was a easy race. They had wait 45 minutes after the girls went for a reason that still escapes me. when we did go i went fast. up with the top boys. i hung with them for about1.37 miles and then i slowed down. it was a good course but narrow. Matthew was in front of me and wouldnt speed up and eventually both of us were overtaken by Andrew. It was narrow so i couldnt pass matthew i wish i could of but i couldnt. The whole team slowed down in this one and we dont know why. We as a team won everything. boys girls and coed but they had no trphies or even medals....... but wwe won!!!!!

| | 1.5 mile warmup, 2.5 mile, cooldown of 2 miles. we did 11x400ms repeats at race pace. we did this on rthe uneven grasy hills/plains of a local park. these were hard. we ran the 400ms with a 90 second rest in which we had to run back to the starting line. my times ere all between 1:13-1:21 so pretty fast for be on grass. I ran with the top pack and was around 5-7th on the team. it was hard and now i am tired.

Bob Firman Invitational (3.11 Miles) 00:18:52, Place overall: 35, Place in age division: 10 | | We had trouble getting out fo the hotel due to a lazy and late teammate. GOt to the eagle island state park on a cool and cloudy (rain clouds) morning. My wrist is still hurting really bad even after I took 2 ibuprofens. I saw my family and started to get warmed up...mna my wrist hurts.
The gun goes offf and I am immediately hit in my sore wrist and it explodes in pain. I nearly drop out of the race in the first mile it hurt so bad. Albert, Matthew and Matthew take off. I get in front of Funk but am not able to get back with Gyles. The course is fun but I am in so much pain I get out of my racing mode. I run a new PR but so does nearly everyone else. Really disappointed in this race as I was ready to go fast. We had the EMT's tape up my wrist after the race. Stick around to watch the other races but I am hurting and mad. My teammates run hard and well and I am happy for them but mad that my teammate messed around on the bus and caused me to have this injury right before a big race. Still pissed.
Need to refocus and get ready to run better at the meet in Twin Falls on Wednesday and get a better time.

Dani Bates Invitational (3.107 Miles) 00:18:50, Place overall: 7 | | I ran the Dani Bates Invitational in Twin Falls. I finished in 18:50 (coach and I had my time at 18:43) for a new PR. I was hoping to run faster but the wind affected my in the last 2 miles. Went out fast, maybe too fast. Two other schools put their top varsity runners in the JV race to make sure they got medals (too slow to compete in the varsity race). I was 7th overall in JV and now 8th on my team. Still working to get the times I need to be back on varsity (another 30-40 seconds here is what I needed). I am proud of my race.

Madison Invitational (3.11 Miles) 00:18:56, Place overall: 8, Place in age division: 7 | | Race today and i was running JV. i started off at 5:45 for my first mile and wasnt looking to good. Next mile cam at 11:51 and i was starting to get into the race. Then i saw Dad on the sidelines and i started pushing i went from 16th to 8th placce in the last mile and medaled!!! i raced a solid last mile. it was a windy flat race with a plane, yes a airplane, constantly circling over head. it was very loud. My time actually put me on stop 7 on the team.

City XC Meet (3.107 Miles) 00:19:22, Place overall: 30, Place in age division: 7 | | We ran the City wide XC meet today at Freeman Park on a VERY windy day. I ran pretty well and passed the first mile in 5:48. Second mile I started to move up and caught Matthew and was dropping some of the other kids. With about 800m to go I moved into 6th on the team but Matthew had more kick in the last 50m and got me by about 1 second! Back on varsity. Tough run but I love this course. IF team finished 3rd out of 4 teams so it is a challenge to see if we can qualify for state and the district meet next week. We will have to run hard. Highland, Skyline and IF and in a hard competition...Madison and Hillcrest are 90% sure to be going.

The race started off fast and i went out at 5:39. i worked my way up to Matthews shoulder,and he and i, trailed some Madison boys. 2nd mile hit and i started going, passing the two boys and picking up the pace. Matthew came along too and then the last 1000k hit, and it was windy. i stuck behinf matthew and with the last 200m left i really started pushing but matthew and his awesome kick passed me and beat me by 2 seconds. i beat Taft and Thomas though but we missed going to state by 14 points..... 3 of our boys are going though. good end to the season.

| | We did not go to Boise for the Nike Cross Northwest meet because the weather was really bad. I tried to run on the treadmill in teh basement tonight but my knee was hurting. Kind of bummed about not going but I didn't want to run in the snow and for a bad time.

Honolulu Marathon Clinic 10 mile prediction run Turkey Trot (10 Miles) 01:13:12 | | Dad and I ran to the park to register for the race. I put down a prediction of 1:10 for the run due to the heat, wind and stomach ache.
We ran in the front group at the start. I had stomach issues after the first few miles. I threw up a couple of times and was getting hot at the end. Dad ran with me for parts fo the race before he took off half way. I feel good about the run but don't like this type of race not knowing my distacen or pace.
