7:45 am start and 56 degrees. This is a trail run at PC Park. Hilly. Dave Smith put together a Corporate Team again for us composed of Tony, Dave, Myself, John, and Steve. I find it interesting. We all are 40+ years old and run multiple times a week together. We all finished with a time of 23:xx to 24:30. It was kind of the same story for the marathon in Indianapolis. I guess if everyone trains the same, you get the same result.
Mile 1: 6 tenths are on pavement before hitting the trail. You loose 149 feet and gain 96 feet of elevation through this mile. Most of it is at a grade that is not comfortable running down or up. Trail was in good shape even though there was a little rain this morning. 6:57.7 through 1 mile.
Mile 2: All trail. Lots of up and down. I stayed with Jeff Golden through this mile. 80 ft up 63 ft down. 8:31.0
Mile 3: A huge hill up. Steep enough that I broke stride and walked. 131 ft up, 141 ft down. The last 4 tenths were on pavement so I was able to pick up the pace and pass a couple of people. 7:50.1 for 0.94 miles.
Last year I ran the same race under 22 minutes. This is a good indicator that i have some work to do. I would like to be around 3hours for my marathon in February.
