| Member Since: May 24, 2015 Gender: Male Goal Type: Other Running Accomplishments: Pre-highschool: I loved to run and ran a few small local 5k's, but I did not run much on my own, besides junior high track.
Freshman year: I ran cross country and traied wih the team most of the summer. When the season started I ran 3 races including Murray Invitational. I got a huge PR there but after the race my foot hurt and I had a hard time walking. I ran on it for the next week but it was not getting better, so I went to a Sports MD and found out that i had a stress fracture. Becaue of that injury I missed the rest of the season. Then I ran track for my junior high but did not do extremely well.
Sophmore year: I trained hard over the summer and I got a 3 minute PR on my first race. I continued to PR, and had a good, injury free season. I ran indoor track an had some good PRs. I ran at simplot and had a great time. I did track and ran some goodtimes and cut my time down by 15 seconds, I was hoping that I could get low 5's in the mile, but I had fun and was able to race at the steepechase and have a fun time through out the season. At sophmore region I was able to PR in the 800 and I missed my PR in the mile by 2 seconds.
Junior year: I ran a little over 500 miles over the summer, but wasn't improving how I would have liked over the season. I was not consistant at all and was sick for aboout 3 races. I finally had a good race at region and dropped a 46 second pr. Track went well, I went sub-5 in the mile finally and got a PR in the 2 mile pretty easily. I didn't really hit the times I had hoped for throughout the season due to sickness and I just wasn't in it.
PRs:
800: 2:11
1600: 4:56.35
3200: 11:17.47
3 mile: 17:41
5k: 18:07 Short-Term Running Goals: Cross Country 2016:
Run 650 to 700 summer miles SUCCESS
Low 15's on the 5K and Sub 15 3 mile
Place at region and state
Go to footlocker nationals
Track 2017:
Sub 4:20 mile
Sub 9:15 on the 3200
Sub 2:00 on the 800
Sub 6:25 on steeple chase
Qualify for State, Arcadia, and Great South West, and become the best runner I can be. Long-Term Running Goals: Run cross country and track in college. Keep improving and just having fun. I'll probably run an ultra or two for the heck of it and to see if I like them. Personal: I'm a Senior at Weber High School. I am LDS and plan on serving a mission before college. | | Easy recovery day today. I did 4.75 in the morning and 3.5 later tonight. I ran up to the cave and was next to the entrance when I heard a growl which I'm assiming came from a bobcat based on the tracks. I booked it out of there because I wasn't really in the mood to be eaten...

| | Me and Addison ran back up to the cave and ran around the trails up there before getting on canal road. We didn't realize how freaking deep it was becasue there was a nice path carved out until it stopped. We kept going on and decided it would be better to get off and run on the road.

|
| | All was well until we reached the bottom of Shady Lane, and then my knee locked up and I died. Im heading in to see what I did tomorrow.
|
| | The trainer said that I have Bursitis becasue of a tight IT band. So I biked 6 miles today until it started to hurt.
|
| | Went to the pool and treaded warter. My watch said it was equalivent to 5 miles of running, so that is what I put. Treading in water/ water jogging doesn't bother my knee at all, so that is good because othewise I would go insane.
|
| | Went to the gym and biked for a half an hour at a decent pace.
|
| | Went to the pool and treaded water for 45 minutes straight...
|
| | Treaded water ad biked a little bit.
|
| | The trainer told me I can go run 2 miles today, so that was great.

Weber state Indoor meet (1 Miles) 00:05:30 | | 5:30 mile, im not sure about splits. I just got cleared to race by the trainer yesterday, so im sorta out of shape, but It was a good painful expirience. I know what I need to focus and work on now so I should be cable to run even faster next week. I was able to race in my new spikes and I absolutely love them. ve never raced in spikes before, and now that I have I'm wondering why I didn't. I got the Brooks Mach 16 thanks to Jake Lee's sugestion, and I got them for an incredible deal.

Olympic oval meet (1 Miles) 00:05:20 | | I got a rough start in the mile becasue I registered late, so I was placed in the back behind eveeryone. I ran almost the entire first lap and a quarter in lane 2 just so I could pass people. I never thought of myself having a good kick, but I ended up passing 6 kids in the last 100, so that felt really good. I did a 2 mile cooldown after. We had alot of fun this weekend and I was able tohang out with Connor Baller fora while which was totally dope haha

Olympic oval meet (0.5 Miles) 00:02:20 | | Wasn't planning on runing an 800 today, but I haven't ran one in more than 2 years and wanted to see where I was at. I didn't get registered before so I had to start in the very back of the pack, which sucked because I had to pass aton of people. I ended up running a 2:20 and taking 6th in my heat of 27, so I was proud of that. I got to race in my new spikes again, and I totally love them. Did a 3 mile cooldown to compensate for the short warmup

Simplot Games 1600M (1 Miles) 00:05:14 | | Half a mile warm up before the race. The race went pretty well I started out closer to the back but was in 3rd by the end of the first lap. I stayed there most of the race and finished in 6th I think for my heat. I was able to re-watch the race on runnerspace and analyze my form and and see what I need to work on. I let my head nod and need to fix that, and I also run really tight and bounce up and down a lot. So it's good that I was able to watch and see what I need to fix. I did a 2 mile cooldown after. |

| | Easy 5.5 down to Lee's and Smith's and back. I think Henry explainded it best on his blog, "we were going to run to Lee's for some samples and stuff. So I'm running with Talon, Brayden, and Nate Staker, and we cruise on down to Lee's. We get in, grab some orange juice, wholewheat bread with honey, and some coconut water. We go outside and guess who's there. That's right BJ's girlfriend. So he sits there and talks to her for like 420 minutes and the rest of us act like spies or something. We finally get his attention and we start running again. Then we're like "Hey! Smith's will have food too!" So we run over there and grab some cookies and sushi. So we leave and we're running behind the old Smiths and we see these sick balloons and Talon grabs one. We keep running and then a cop pulls us over!! He's all like "that's a special balloon! Put it back!" So we run it back and he follows us so we act like we're going one way but go another and lose him. Then we run back to the school and I told some fire jokes. We get back to the school and then I leave and run home. Got home, was chilling and I got an alert from Insta saying that Talon had sent a picture from Doug the pug to the group chat and so I got on and showed them a far superior account called dogrates. The group chats have been lit lately. Just like my runs." Sorry Henry, I had to steal your very detailed description from the blog, please don't sue me.... I'll buy you food

| | I decided to start doing morning runs, so today was my first one. I went 4 miles at a 7:10 pace. Later today we all ran up and around the rock quarry. |
| | Me, Talon, Addison, Nate, and Spencer ran up to the trails above 500 W. We ended up running down the face of the mountain becasue we lost the trail. It was insane, we were all tripping and falling in the snow. We found a golfball, a stuffed bear, and I fell into a cactus and had to pull 400,000 cactus prickles out of my hand and knee, it was awful, but quite funny. We also ran over to the cave and explored that area. Addison said it best on his blog, "Finally ran with the guys again today. After we witnessed the most intense flip ever from jake smith, we decided to run the trails above 500 W. Jake turned back early cause his tailbone was quite sore from the intense 360 poin flip that i previously mentioned. We ended up running straight down the face on our way back. Everyone was falling through the snow and going down hard. We stopped to extract a cactus, and as you can probably guess, bj screwed up. He just sorta tipped forward and fell straight into the cactus. After much swearing and screams of agony, he finally pulled himself together. We ended our run by exploring the caves. Brayden seems to know them quite well... i wonder why..." Sorry to add and Henry for stealing your blog posts, but they are pretty fire.

For practice today we did 2 X 200's with 200 meter jogging recovery, 2x400's with a 400 meter jogging recovery, and 2x600's with a 400 meter recovery. Intersquad 800m (0.497 Miles) 00:02:15, Place overall: 9 | | Woke up and did 4 miles this morning with Henry; my hip was bothering me from the run yesterday so I rolled out quick and stretched for a while one I got home. After school I did a half mile warm-up with the rest of the track team before the race. Went on another mile warm-up after the coaches talked to us. The race started well and I had a decent start and ran a 65 first lap. I was hurting with about 200m left, but that's where Gavin started kicking so I picked it up hard. Felt great about my race especially considering we've had hard workouts the past few days. I'm excited for the mile tomorrow. My hip didn't bother me during the race or cool down and I think the stretching helped. |

The 1600 went pretty well, I don't have all my splits, but I know the first lap was a 70. I Finished with a time of 5:04 for a new PR by 10 seconds!! I did .75 of a mile around the track and then we did a 400 and I ran it in 1:00.6 or something like that. I'm a little mad I didn't go sub-1, but not bad for just running a mile. Arcadia trip (0.001 Miles) 00:00:01 | | Woke up early in the morning and did 6 miles before the crew came annd picked me up to go to Arcadia.
Arcadia Day 1:
They picked me up around 10 AM and we started the journey. About half way to Duerte, which is where we were staying, we stopped at a gas station to eat lunch. I have always been told and have learned from many instances, that you should never, ever, eat mexiccan food from a gas station. So guess what I did?!?! I walked right up to the mexican place and ordered a burrito the size of Ethan Fields head! JK, but it was close ;) That is where Ethan found out from the rest of my team that I have a slight addiction to mexican food. If my momory is correct, I had mexican food 14 times over this week. Anyways, on with the story! We got to the house that we rented in Duerte and it was super nice! We found a shopping cart and rode around in that for a little while and explored the neighborhood. We had a super sick run under some orange trees and around the city that was around 5.5 miles. After we got back, Mama Lee said that she made dinner!! Any guesses on what it was?!?! Enchiladas!!! My favorite!! Me, Add, and Ethan were anti social, so we sat out on the patio in the rain becasue there was no seats left at the dinner table inside. We ate our dinner and had a great time! Add or Ethan said somthing about us bing locals, and that turned into a great inside joke for the rest of the trip. After dinner we watched a little bit of A-Team and then headed to bed. Im in a room with Add and Ethan and it is sick. We filled it up with plants that we stole from around the house and we stayed up pretty late talking. I love those two, they are halarious :)

Arcadia Day 2 (0.001 Miles) 00:00:01 | | Arcadia day 2
I honestly sort of forgot what we did today, but it was a dang good day haha We sort of just relaxed all day and messed around. Me, Add, and Ethan ran over to grab some more oranges at a super chill pace, and we got chased by a crap ton of dogs, but that's it hahaha We took our newly aquired shopping cart over to the local skate park and went down some ramps, and then we invented a sick new game that is a combination of ultimate frisbee and basketball. Let me tell ya, getting a frisbee through a basketball hoop is harder than you would think... We went over to the meet and just hung out and watched the girls win the seeded 4 X 800 and the guys run the 4 x1600. Watched Oak smash a nationaal record, which was totally lit, and just cheered a bunch. After, Me and Ethan went on a crazy sketchy run through a graveyard... and then we did some strides. If i remember correct I went on another 3 with everyone else later. We went to bed at a decently early time tonight, I think Me, Add, and Ethan all stopped talking and laughing around 12...

We went over to watch Add race and hung out there for a while. Add did great and got a PR, so thats lit. After, we went back over to the house and hungg out again. We watched some more A team and got some more oranges. Me and Marc went on a long run and I felt amazing. I ended up averaging 6:24's which is the fastest I've ever gone for a long run. I love how easy it is to run down here; It is so much easier to breathe... We just partied the rest of the day and went back over to the stadium to watch Ethan, Talon, and McKenna race. Ethan Dropped a massive PR in the 3200 and it was sick to watch all of the Hobbyjoggers destroy. Connor Baller had an epic race, and it was sick to watch Casey drop an 8:50 US #1. We went back to the house and partied pretty late. Me, Ethan, and Add snuck out off our room around 2 I think and had a nice midnight snack of cold cereal. I think we went to bed around 4...

Northridge Dual Meet (0.994 Miles) 00:04:57 | | Me and the guys did a mile and a half warmup and then got ready to race with some dynamics and strides. I knew that I needed to stick with Add, Paul, and Jake for as long as possible if I wanted to go sub 5. I ended up finishing with a time of 4:57. I did a mile cool down with Addi and then relaxed before my 3200. There were only 5 of u running the 2 mile and I ended up getting a time of 11:17. I could have gone a lot faster, but I didn't really have anyone to push me. It was super windy, so I'm really happy with both of my times. Later tonight I did another 3 miles |

I was doing my 5th 800 when the lightning and rain started, so I finished at the 400 and sprinted home. I wanted to finish, so I drove over to my grandma's and used her treadmill for 3 more 800's and another 400. So I ended the day with 7 X 800's and 2 x 400's. I got a total of 10 miles with the warm ups and everything. |

I was the first leg and got us into second place. I split a 2:11. We took first pretty soon after Gav-Dog took the baton, and then Jonah and Point opened up the gap even more. I think we won by around 30 seconds... I split a 2:11, Gav split a 2:11, Jonah split a 2:11, and Poin dropped a 2:06. For a time of 8:39! I did a mile cooldown and then another 6.25 miles tonight.

Autoliv Race For life (3.107 Miles) 00:18:07, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | Did a mile shakeout before my race. We got to the race and I did a mile and a half warmup with some strides and dynamics. I was sorta nervous casue as soon as I showed up I saw a dude who beat me at another one of the Autoliv 5k's and Kaden Winter! Kaden Winter! He runs for USU! I was sorta freaking out because I wanted to win. hahahaha The race took off just how I expected, Kaden took off in the lead pretty quick, I was a little bit behind, and the other dude was right on my tail. I caught up to Kaden pretty and stayed on him for the first half mile. At that point Me, Kaden, and the other dude had packed it up and we were running across the trail in a flat line. We stayed like that until the turn around point and then Kaden made a surge. I surged to catch back up to him and I didn't know where the other dude was. We passed Jerra, Kadens girlfriend, and we both sorta cheered from under our breaths and kept going. We reached the biggest hill of the course and I decided in my mind it waas now or never, so I really pushed the pace up the hill and took the lead. I stayed in the lead, and at a half mile left I really started to pick up the pace as much as I could because I knew Kaden had an amazing kick and that he was very close behind me along with the other dude. I sprinted as fast as I could to the finish and I finished first with a time of 18:07, a PR of almost 13 seconds!! A 13 Second PR!! I was so stoked! My mile splits were 5:35, 6:11, 6:20. Later tonight I did 5 more easy miles to loosen my legs up again.

JV Region (0.994 Miles) 00:04:56 | | Me and Gav-dog did a mile and a half warmup before the mile and jusst did the normal warmup stuff. Kyler told me that he would pace me on the first 800 of the mile, which was so helpful. We crossed at 400 and the 800 right on pace for a 4:50. He started to slow, so he told me to go. I ended with a time of 4:56! A 2 second PR! About 10 minutes after we all ran the 800 and most of us got destroyed hahaha Im not even sure of my time! It was like a 2:28 or somthing haha. We were all pretty dead, but we decided to do a 4 X 400 just for fun. It was Me, Point, Jonah, and our sprint/ jump coach Cam hahaha Our Baton was onee of those sick relay flags with the red on one end and the white on the other. I think I got the baton in second or third and I took the lead about 100 M in. I ended up splitting a 60 flat, which i was pretty proud of considering the rest of my day :) I ran home and then did 4 more miles on the canal.

I basically get on my bike and bike as fast as I possibly can up to the top of my street, which is also a hill, and then quickly bike back down and start again before my hr lowers. Connor Baller Classic (3.107 Miles) 00:17:20 | | Sick group warm-up with most of the guys racing at the CBC. I was super pumped to race, and was glad to see that the race was as hype as we had hoped... There were a crap ton of elites there between Josh Collins, Ethan, Connor, Alyssa, Zack, Julie, and probably a few others. It was pretty lit. There was some dope music bumping the whole time, and it was pretty much a party. I honestly dont remember much about the race, but I know that I got a PR. My watch got me at a 16:49 and that is what they got me at the finish line. My watch said 3.15 so I stopped when I crossed the line, but Add finished quite a ways behind me and I don't remember ever passing him. So either my watch is messed up and I only ran 11 laps, or I ran the 12 and dropped a massive PR... Lets hope for the second option haha.

| | Good long run with Add and Dan up in Monte Cristo today. We figured some high altitude long runs would be pretty helpful for the upcoming season haha
|
| | Stairs at weber state went well, but on the cooldown I rolled my ankle and really messed it up. I wasa mile out so i walked the mile back and when I took off my shoe it was the size of a softball... like not even joking, I thought I broke it. I went to the DR righ away where we x rayed itand did some tests, and luckily I only partially tore 2 ligaments. Its a very inconvient time for this to happen, but im going to make the best out of it and we will see how it goes.

| Race: |
Ragnar 2016 (200 Miles) 20:58:31 | | I pretty much use my blog as a journal so you are going to get the full ragnar story, not just the running... Sorry not sorry. So me and Add drove up to Ethan's house on Thursday night. We had a bonfire and met some dope CV kids. After pretty much everyone left Me, Claire, Ethan, Add, and Spence decided to go on an adventure. We drove up to some canyon that Ethan said had mines at the top. Ethan decided to tell us all of the sketchy stuff thatt he had found in the mines such as broken clown dolls and crazy voodo crap, so we were pretty freaked out... Or at least I was. Ethan and Claire kept telling us about all of these super sketchy haunted places in Cache Valley. We were probably half way up the canyon when we saw a freaking No tresspassing sign and a cross looking thing that was red... So spence$$ decided to be logical and got us the freak out of there. On the way back down Claire decided to tell us more sketchy stories about ghosts and stuff, and anyone who knows me fairly well would know that I hate scary movies and stuff like that.... I was pretty scared to be honest... Luckily good ole' spence keeps a Book of Mormon in his car, we started reading that aloud hahaha then we drove to another super sketchy house and looked at it, but we didn't get out or anything luckily. We then continued our journey to the one and only Rancheritos (betos) for some high quality mexican food. Keep in mind that this was all around 2 AM. We chilled in beto's for a while and got some interesting food. I ordered rolled tacos thinking it would look something like a burrito... Boy was I wrong, It was pretty much just a bunch of those little microwaved taquito thingys coated in cheese and guacamole. And I dont mean a little guacamole either... It was a crap ton! Im pretty sure they had like 40 million avacodos in the back becasue with each of our orders we got like 3 cups of guacamole, no joke. Spence$$ met a very nice mexican lady named Consuela, who kindly cleaned up our large salsa and napkin mess. We left Betos and continued our drive where we encountered a few cops who thought we were drunk... After we explained that we were only runners who possibly got drugged by something at Betos, maybe marijuana guacomole? They let us off with a warning, im not sure what type of warning because we didn't do anything... We left and went over to first dam and then drove back to Ethans house. The next morning after a solid 4 hours of sleep or something, we had some stellar waffles and hung out. We ran some errands to buy food, specifically hummus, and Ethan introduced us to the wonderful drink of Jumex. Jumex is probably the unofficial drink of The HJP and it's some quality stuff. After, we met up with te rest of the guys in van 1 and decorated the van. It was a pretty dope looking van if you ask me. We went over to the start line and watched Connor Baller start. We drove around and cheered and bumped some dope songs while they were all running. I got the baton or whatever you want to call the little bracelet that you get at the bottom of Avon. I believe that we were in fifth when I got it. I started a little too fast because I was totally hyped. My first 2 miles were sub-7, both being around 6:30. After that it all sorta went to crap and my ankle was sorta hurting. I adjusted my brace and kept running. I finished at at an average pace of 7:38, which I was honestly pretty happy with given the circumstances. Mama Field had a bag of Ice waiting for me at the top for my ankle which was a blessing. We partied over at Adds after van 2 started and then went and chilled at Basin. My second leg was somewhere between Mountain Green and Morgan and was 4.5 miles at like 2 AM. I averaged 6:36 and was sorta fearing for my life the whole time thanks to Claire's scary stories... I honsetly dont remember much besides that haha. I got like 7 kills or something like that. We were still in fifth and just slept and partied the night away. My last leg was that morning around 7 I think. I got like 23 kils on that one if I remember right. We chilled at the finish ad waited for the other van. Cam came in at 20:58:31 and we attempted to rave but were dead tired. We finished 5th overall behind Jaybird, Rebok, Collins Dining project, and BYU; In that order. We were the first highschool team and overall had an epic experience. THE HOBBYJOGGER PROJECT. Our team consisted of Ethan Field, Jake Lee, Connor Arnell Baller, Brandon Barclay, Talon Hull, Denver Perry, Spence$$ (Consuela) Nelson, Me - Brayden Youngberg, Addison Hedges, Cameron Anderson, Hayden Ewer, and Collin Morrison. I'll never forget the friendships I've made with these guys and the memories of hardwork and fun that we've made.

| | First day of XC camp had a lot less mileage than I had expected. We had about a mile total for the warmup and cooldown and then the 2 mile tempo that everyone pretty much races. I ran a 12 flat, which is right around my tempo pace so I was glad I stayed controlled. I can already tell that this week is going to be pretty dope, i'm excited.
|
| | Woke up this morning at XC camp and did a good fartlek workout. I once again forgotto start my watch, but it ended up being 8 miles with the warmup and cool down. Later this afternoon we did 4 more on the Provo river trail. I'm having a great time down here an learning a lot. Hanging out with all of the people who beat us at ragnar from the jaybird team and the BYU athletes is pretty dope.
|
| | 3 mile trail run this morning on the bonneville shoreline. Later today we ran up to stewart falls which was really cool! That was about 4.25 miles, later tonight I did another 3 miles around campus with Add.

I took like 15th in the raace or something like that and I dont remember my time hahaha My average pace was around 5:50 i think so I guess it was around 11:40.. Not my best... After wennt on a really fun cooldown with Add, Cameron Todd, and Camerons cousin from box elder. They are really cool guys! I'm so greaatful for all of the friedships that i've made through running. Perry City 5k (3.107 Miles) 00:18:05, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | I was super excited to race today and was ready for it. I did a quick shakeout after I woke up and then we headed over to the course. I warmed up for 2 miles and did some strides and dynamics. The race started good, and I didn't start out too fast. I rode right behind the top guy with a small group before he fell off and died aroudn the mile mark.. I didn't really want to take off into the lead yet and just contined with my plan of sticking with the pack. Within the next quarter mile the rest of the group fell off and It was me and a lady left leading it. We ran right by eachother for pretty much the rest of the race and we sorta leap frogged, she would take the lead, then we would switch, then we would be next toi eachother, and that sorta just repeated through out the race. With about .75 of the race left she was making me hurt pretty bad and I almost lost her, but then I refocused and took the lead at the last big hill with about .3 left. I feel like hills are one of my strengths, so I used that to my advantage andrealy pused it hard up it. At the top of the hill there is about .15 left, I really started to kick and could hear her right behind me. I finished with a time of 18:05.4 and she finished about 4 seconds behind me. I was talking to her after the race and shes a legend! Her name is Melody Jenson and she ran for BYU a few years ago and has won the Deseret News 10k. I honestly had a realy good time racing with her and was glad she was the to push me. After I did a 2 mile cooldown with a mile of it being barefoot. Later tonight I did 4 more miles just to relax and looses my legs.

I picked some wheat, aprcots, and blackberries during it, which were all quite amazing and gave me an extra burst of energy. And yes, I do infact pick wheat while im running, pull the grain out, and eat it... I'm a weird kid, I know. lol After I got home I decided I have the upper body of a 6 year old, so I did P90x to get ripped. Later tonight I had planned on going 3 with henry but we ended up going 4.25. It has been a long time since we've talked so it was really good and fun to talk and catch up.

| | This morning as a team we did a stair circuit thing. We ran a 400, did a set of stairs, did some form of exercise like burpies, tricep dips, and bikes. We ended up doing this a total of 8 times, so with my warm up and cold own I was at 4 miles. Later tonight I did an easy 6.
|
| | I did a super easy 5 this morning. Later tonight I ran up to the hill on canal road and did 7 repeats up that for a total of 4 miles with the warm up and cool down.

| | Woke up early to fit a 10 mile long run in before heading up to Cache Valley for my little brothers soccer game. Im not sure what my pace was, but I'm assuming around 7:30's because i'm honestly not used to running at 5 AM yet... Met up with Claire for another run before my brothers game, and we did 7 miles together. Ethan, Spence$$, and everyone else was out of town, so we ran up a place called Birch canyon if I remember right. It was a ton of fun! There were a few river crossings and It was seriously one of the prettiest runs that I've ever been on. It was beautiful up there. It was a ton of fun running with Claire, and it was great being able to run on a new trail.

| | 5 miles this morning up at the top of the divide on the Ben Lomond side. I made it 2.5 miles up, which is farther than i've ever ran up in a team practice before. Later tonight I did another easy 5 to get to 10. I went at like 10 PM, so it was super dark and there was a full moon, so to be honest, I felt like I was going to get murdered or somthing pretty much the whole run. The wind was blowing the whole time and I kept passing houses with wind chimes that were freaking me out! So if by chance you happened to see a runner running back and forth in a zig zag pattern down Weber High drive, it was most likely me...

| | I ran over to McGriff park this morning to do a quick fartlek. I did another 1-1-2-3-2-1-1 and stayed around 5:50 for the fast and 7:30 for the slow. I felt a lot better doing it than usual so I'm getting stronger for sure. With the warmup and cooldown I went 7.5 miles. Later tonight I did 3 more around 10:30 after work. I guess last night wasn't sketchy enough for me; luckily I did not get killed, so that is definately a plus.

| | This morning we did an easy 7 as a team. I ran with Add and Talon and we had a good time. I got stung by a bee mid stride which is ironic becasue i've only been stung 3 times ever, and all of them have been on runs when I haven't been doing anything to anger them... We took an ice bath in the river after, and some of the dudes went off the rope swing. Later tonight I took Dan around Paris, Idaho for 3 miles at a pretty good pace just showing him the town and shaking our legs out after the drive.

| | Woke up early and ran over to McGriff park for a fartlek. I did a 5-4-3-2-1 with 1:1 rest. My average pace for the fast was a 5:40, and 7:30 for the slow. My first 5 minutes was a bit quick at 5:20 pace, but I felt good. After the workout I stopped to talk to a kid on my team who had just got there, and then saw Bayleigh running on canal, so I ran a mile with her and then went home. With the warmup and cooldown it totaled 9.75 miles. When I got home I did a couple (2.5) 10-15 minute ab workouts from my moms p90X workout things. Later tonight I did another easy 3. I've felt really low on energy today, I dont think I ate enough breakfast and lunch and my calories just ran out. Ill maker sure not to make that mistake again.

| | I met Jake over at Lomond View elementry for a long run. We ran aroudn talking and picking fruit for 9 miles, and it was fun. Long runs are really boring to do alone, so I'm glad he wanted to come. We averaged 6:54. Later tonight I did an easy 3 with Nate, Henry, and Derrick. |

| | We met up as a team this morning over at make out point to tun on the trails over there. We just went at a nice easy recovery pace for 5 miles. After we got back and were stretching, Addison realized that as he stopped on the trail to use the bathroom he left his keys. So me and him ran another 3 miles after practice to retrieve his keys. So that put me at 8 for the morning. Later tonigt I met up with Jake and we ran over to Bates. On our way back we ran into Henry in some dope camo Boa's he had just gotten. We all ran together over to Jakes and then me and Henry ran home. That put me right around 5.25. |

| | I finally was able to run with the Ogden Crew this morning, so I dragged myself out of bed and drove over with Henry and Jake. I was fealing good the first 5 or so miles and then dehydration hit. I ended up having to stop twice and felt like death, but despite getting destroyed the rest of the run was a lot of fun and I loved meeting all of them. Hopefully I get to run again with them soon and feel a bit better. Felt like crap the rest of the day, so I didn't run again...

| | I still felt like crap when I woke up this morning, so I slept in and went over to my grandmas and ran on her treadmill. I did a 1.75 mile warmup with strides and then a 1-1-2-3-2-1-1 fartlek. I went 5:30 pace on the fast with an incline on the fast and 7:30 pace on the slow. After I did a 3.25 mile cooldown, for a total of 8.5 miles. | | I went for a 3.5 mile run this morning on canal at a pretty chill pace. Around noon I met up with Nate, Add, and Dan to drive over to the Aspen Ridge trail head to run up to Timpanogos Peak. We ran/powerhiked about 5.5 miles up to Emerald Lake where we hammock camped. I ran a mile up by the lake with some strides and called it a day. We were all super tired and didn't run as much as we had hoped because we are the worst fastpackers in the world and had 25ish pound packs...

| | We all slept pretty crappy because of the wind last night, so we were all really tired this morning. We hung around camp and ate until around 11 when we decided to go up to the peak. We thought it would be fairly quick up and down, but the trail was a lot more rough than we expected and we had to hike most of it. We chilled up at the peak and then headed back down. We hurried and cleaned up camp and then headed back down the mountain. I took a nice hot bath once I got home and it was great to be able to sit down and relax. Later tonight I did another easy 3, and then I ran a half mile around the park with my brother at an 8 minute pace or so.

| | I went over to my grandmas house again to run on the treadmill and do a hard tempo. I did a mile warmup with some strides and then started the workout. I went a full 5k and finished in 17:45, so I was stoked! Im super excited for this season considering I'm destroying last years pr's during tempo workouts. After I did a 1.25 mile cooldown and stretched for a total of 5.5 miles during the workout. I met up with Jake for a long run around 8 tonight after watching Mo kill it in the 10k. We went 12 miles together and a little with Henry. We stopped at the park and I said goodbye to Jake because he is leaving to SUU tomorrow. I ran another 1.25 miles alone and it was honestly needed just to get out all my emotions of Jake leaving and realizing that the friends I've grown up knowing and running with for the longest are all leaving. Today was sorta a crazy day running wise and probably not the smartest training, but it was the last day of summer training and mentally I just needed it. |

Skyview & Weber at Roy (3.15 Miles) 00:17:33, Place overall: 4 | | I'm very proud of my race today and I walked away with a pretty big PR!! the race started out good and I felt really calm and in control. I felt great the entire first lap and mentally stayed really strong. I was right next to good Ol' Curt Crossley from Roy until the last .5 or so and he started slipping away. He was great to have during the race and helped a lot by offering a word of motivation or two and to just have some company. I'm really greatful for the friends I have from Weber and other schools that I've gained through running. We did a good group cooldown with some friends from skyview for a mile and headed back to the busses. Later tonight I did another 7.5 at recovery pace.

I was pretty excited to come back becasue I enjoyed the course and wanted to make some good memories there to cover the bad ones. The race had a super fast start and my first mile was a 5:04. I think I raced stronger physically and mentally than I have so far this season and wasproud with how I did. Huntsville Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:20:23, Place overall: 8, Place in age division: 2 | | Me, Add, and Dan decided to to the Huntsville half last saturday just for the heck of it. I had planned on doing another 13 mile longrun today, so I figured why not, as long as I don't push it too hard and just have fun with it. It was fun to see Riley and Taylor and some of the other guys up there and talk to them. We didn't start out too fast, as planned, and we slowly moved our way up throughout the race. We had a lot of fun jumping over cones and doing other random ish that probably should have gotten us killed. I just held a constant pace the whole race because I didn't want to ruin my upcoming races. Ended up finishing 8th place with an average pace of 6:08. Later tonight I did another easy couple of miles to shake out my legs.

Bob Firman (3.107 Miles) 00:17:38 | | We did about a mile and a warmup. The race was alright, the course was fun, but im not happy with how I did. First mile was 5:08 and second mile was 10:48. After the race Chili had us do a long cooldown so we went 4 and then me and Talon did another mile. I've missed doing these fun little extra runs with Talon like the cooldown and last night. I came home really frustrated and confused, so I went on an 11 miler to clear my head and to think through some decisions that I need to make.

| | Easy 6 and then the 24 hour run. Miles for that and other info is on tomorrow.
|
| | 8.5 miles at the 24 hour run. I slept a lot more this year than in the past because I've been up late with homework this whole week. All of my miles were sub 6 so that made me happy. I went: 5:14, 5:31, 5:16, 5:42, 5:43, 5:40, 5:38, and 5:21. We paced some kids on to try to break their pr's so thats how I got the other half, those 400 splits were 73, and 77. I was happy with my times and felt like I got a good workout in. I did 10 on the treadmill this afternoon while watching General Conference; I threw a lot of random surges and inclines in it to get a bit more of a workout. I averaged 6:33's.

| | Easy 6.5 miles this morning. We did 8 X 800's at practice, and I was feeling pretty good until my stomach started cramping. I went 2:32, 2:32, 2:33, 2:34, 2:37, 2:35, 2:37, 2:32. I also got in a 2 mile warmup and .5 mile cooldown.

Boston Boost 5 - Black Miles: 6.50 | Glide Boost 8 Miles: 6.50 |
|
| | 6 miles easy this morning. At practice we did another easy 6. Funny story, while we were running a car drove by and flicked up a rock... not a pebble, a rock. The rock floated through the air and nailed Jonah right between the legs. I'm not sure how that is even possible, but it's nuts hahahaha.

State (3 Miles) 00:17:14, Place overall: 67 | | We did about a mile warmup around the course. Overall I'm proud of my race, it was one of my best races all season even though it wasn't the time I wanted. The race started pretty quick, but I stayed pretty controlled and that helped me. I ran next to Casey Clinger for like 2 seconds at the start, so that was pretty dope. Congrats to AF for being freaking legends and Lone Peak for taking second and beating Davis ;) shoutout to Talon for taking third and to Casey and McKay from AF for being absolute ballers. After we did a cooldown over to Billy from milesplit to give him a Hobb Jogger Project shirt. |
| | I ran up to the powerline trail above 500 W and ran over to Big Rock. The trails are beautiful right now, I could have stayed up there all day. |

| | I did an easy 4 this morning before school. After school Me, Add, Talon, and Stathan ran on some trail that ended up taking us into pole patch. We bushwacked through the fields of Pole Patch and eventually found the trails that I sometimes run on up there. We hopped a lot of fences and stuff, so it was a lot of fun. |
Glide Boost 8 Miles: 10.00 |

| | I did an easy 4 before school over to Bates elementary on my typical route. After school I did a 2 mile warmup and went down to Shady Lane park. I did 8x800's with about a minute and 30 seconds recovery. It was brutal; my splits were 2:37, 2:42, 2:46, 2:48, 2:49,2:49, 2:48, and 2:46. I did a mile cooldown and called it a day. |

| | I did an easy 5 this morning before school. At practice we did a shorter version of the workout I did friday at the lomond view park hills. We did 10 up the long hill and then 2 up the steep part. | | I ran over to the track and did a little more to get to a mile warmup. I did 8 x 200's. My splits were 32, 31, 31, 30, 30, 30, 28, 29. Later today Add, Talon, and me met up at to top of the pass for a long run. We were planning on going 8 to 13. We started and decided to got the longer distance of 13, so we kept going to lewis peak. It was hecka hilly and insane! We got to the peak in like 53 minutes or something, so we were just around 9 minute pace. We headed back down and were planning on getting on the trail down to windsurfer beach. We got on a trail and kept running up some crazy hills until we got about 2 miles, where we got cliffed out and ran the wrong direction. We ran back 2 miles to where we got on the trail and headed in the correct direction. Needless to say, after a crap ton of hills and 18 miles, we were all pretty dead when we finished at windsurfer. We all took a nice dip in the lake and then stopped at valley market to get some food. It really was a ton of fun, it's experiences and adventures like these that I will never forget. |

Footlocker West (3.107 Miles) 00:17:31, Place overall: 160 | | Not what I wanted or worked for, and definately not where I wanted to end my high school career, but I'm blessed to have the experiences that I have had. I've learned so much over the 4 years of cross, and it's hard to believe its all over. It's been an incredible experience and I wouldn't change it for anything. I've learned so much and have met the most incredible people and friends. I honestly love you all so much, thanks for everything. I did really well on the hills during the race and am proud of that. Thinking back there isn't much I would change about the race or my training. It's made me who I am, I set my standards a bit to high for myself, but I did run about a minute faster on this course than last year. I left the race knowing that I gave it my all and that there was nothing else I could have done, so that made it hurt a bit less. 2 or so mile warmup and a mile cooldown. Running seeded was fun, but it was irritating knowing that I would have medaled in the Senior race. That was my call though, nobody else to blame. Talon made it to nationals and freaking won the whole thing, so that was dope.

| | Me, Talon, and Denver met up for a really good long run. We ran on trails, road, snow, ice, and everything else, so it had a nice variety. We did 12 at 6:20 pace. It was a really great run to end off the year. I've grown as a person more this year than I ever imagined was possible. I met the most amazing people and made lifelong friendships. I figured out who I was and wouldn't change it with anything. This year has definately had its ups and downs. My running didn't fully go as hoped and planned time wise, but what I got from my running was worth so much more. At the start of the year I promised myself that I would run 2,000 miles this year. 6.5 miles a day 6 days a week. I thought that that was going to be hard and a stretch. I knew I could do it, but I didn't think I would be able to go over. I thought it would be close. So here is to all of the late night, early morining, and mid day runs. Here's to the hours spent in the freezing cold, blazing heat, and everything in between. Here's to all of the rainy, snowy and foggy runs. Heres to all of the people how told me I was an obsessed lunatic, you may be right hahaha I love you all, thanks for the lessons, the friendships, and the craziest year of my life.
