Running Accomplishments:

Pre-highschool: I loved to run and ran a few small local 5k's, but I did not run much on my own, besides junior high track.

Freshman year: I ran cross country and traied wih the team most of the summer.  When the season started I ran 3 races including Murray Invitational.  I got a huge PR there but after the race my foot hurt and I had a hard time walking. I ran on it for the next week but it was not getting better, so I went to a Sports MD and found out that i had a stress fracture.  Becaue of that injury I missed the rest of the season. Then I ran track for my junior high but did not do extremely well.

Sophmore year: I trained hard over the summer and I got a 3 minute PR on my first race.  I continued to PR, and had a good, injury free season. I ran indoor track an had some good PRs. I ran at simplot and had a great time. I did track and  ran some goodtimes and cut my time down by 15 seconds, I was hoping that I could get low 5's in the mile, but I had fun and was able to race at the steepechase and have a fun time through out the season. At sophmore region I was able to PR in the 800 and I missed my PR in the mile by 2 seconds.

Junior year: I ran a little over 500 miles over the summer, but wasn't improving how I would have liked over the season. I was not consistant at all and was sick for aboout 3 races. I finally had a good race at region and dropped a 46 second pr. Track went well, I went sub-5 in the mile finally and got a PR in the 2 mile pretty easily. I didn't really hit the times I had hoped for throughout the season due to sickness and I just wasn't in it.

PRs:

800: 2:11

1600: 4:56.35

3200: 11:17.47

3 mile: 17:41

5k: 18:07

Short-Term Running Goals:

Cross Country 2016:

Run 650 to 700 summer miles SUCCESS

Low 15's on the 5K and Sub 15 3 mile

Place at region and state

Go to footlocker nationals

Track 2017:

Sub 4:20 mile

Sub 9:15 on the 3200

Sub 2:00 on the 800

Sub 6:25 on steeple chase

Qualify for State, Arcadia, and Great South West, and become the best runner I can be.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run cross country and track in college. Keep improving and just having fun. I'll probably run an ultra or two for the heck of it and to see if I like them.

Personal:

I'm a Senior at Weber High School. I am LDS and plan on serving a mission before college. I'm a member of The Hobbyjogger Project.

Did about a mile and a half warmup and then 9x400's. My splits were 72, 72, 73, 73, 71, 72, 73, 70, and 65. Between each 400 we got a 400 jogging recovery. We did a mile cool down, and I did another 3.5 miles tonight to get to 10.

I did a mile warm up over to the track and then did some dynamics and strides. I did 4 X 800's and averaged 2:33's I believe. I was doing my 5th 800 when the lightning and rain started, so I finished at the 400 and sprinted home. I wanted to finish, so I drove over to my grandma's and used her treadmill for 3 more 800's and another 400. So I ended the day with 7 X 800's and 2 x 400's. I got a total of 10 miles with the warm ups and everything.

We ran around at region with Henry for his warmup and then chilled im my Hammock. then we did a and a mile warm up for the 4 by 800. I was the first leg and got us into second place. I split a 2:11. We took first pretty soon after Gav-Dog took the baton, and then Jonah and Point opened up the gap even more. I think we won by around 30 seconds... I split a 2:11, Gav split a 2:11, Jonah split a 2:11, and Poin dropped a 2:06. For a time of 8:39!  I did a mile cooldown and then another 6.25 miles tonight.

Did a mile shakeout before my race. We got to the race and I did a mile and a half warmup with some strides and dynamics. I  was sorta nervous casue as soon as I showed up I saw a dude who beat me at another one of the Autoliv 5k's and Kaden Winter! Kaden Winter! He runs for USU! I was sorta freaking out because I wanted to win. hahahaha The race took off just how I expected, Kaden took off in the lead pretty quick, I was a little bit behind, and the other dude was right on my tail. I caught  up to Kaden pretty and stayed on him for the first half mile. At that point Me, Kaden, and the other dude had packed it up and we were running across the trail in a flat line. We stayed like that until the turn around point and then Kaden made a surge. I surged to catch back up to him and I didn't know where the other dude was. We passed Jerra, Kadens girlfriend, and we both sorta cheered from under our breaths and kept going. We reached the biggest hill of the course and I decided in my mind it waas now or never, so I really pushed the pace up the hill and took the lead. I stayed in the lead, and at a half mile left I really started to pick up the pace as much as I could because I knew Kaden had an amazing kick and that he was very close behind me along with the other dude. I sprinted as fast as I could to the finish and I finished first with a time of 18:07, a PR of almost 13 seconds!! A 13 Second PR!! I was so stoked! My mile splits were 5:35, 6:11, 6:20. Later tonight I did 5 more easy miles to loosen my legs up again.

Me and Gav-dog did a mile and a half warmup before the mile and jusst did the normal warmup stuff. Kyler told me that he would pace me on the first 800 of the mile, which was so helpful. We crossed at 400 and the 800 right on pace for a 4:50. He started to slow, so he told me to go. I ended with a time of 4:56! A 2 second PR! About 10 minutes after we all ran the 800 and most of us got destroyed hahaha Im not even sure of my time! It was like a 2:28 or somthing haha. We were all pretty dead, but we decided to do a 4 X 400 just for fun. It was Me, Point, Jonah, and our sprint/ jump coach Cam hahaha Our Baton was onee of those sick relay flags with the red on one end and the white on the other. I think I got the baton in second or third and I took the lead about 100 M in. I ended up splitting a 60 flat, which i was pretty proud of considering  the rest of  my day :) I ran home and then did 4 more miles on the canal.

Went up  to the track and did some mile repeats to keep my endurance up during this break. I did 3, I hit my time by a lot on the first one, kinda died on the second but i still hit the time, and I got killed on the third. Finished it off with 2 800's that I hit perfectly.

I did a bike workout to give my legs some rest. I basically get on my bike and bike as fast as I possibly can up to the top of my street, which is also a hill, and then quickly bike back down and start again before my hr lowers. My hill is about a 70 foot climb in .2 of a mile, so its pretty steep haha
