Running Accomplishments:

Pre-highschool: I loved to run and ran a few small local 5k's, but I did not run much on my own, besides junior high track.

Freshman year: I ran cross country and traied wih the team most of the summer.  When the season started I ran 3 races including Murray Invitational.  I got a huge PR there but after the race my foot hurt and I had a hard time walking. I ran on it for the next week but it was not getting better, so I went to a Sports MD and found out that i had a stress fracture.  Becaue of that injury I missed the rest of the season. Then I ran track for my junior high but did not do extremely well.

Sophmore year: I trained hard over the summer and I got a 3 minute PR on my first race.  I continued to PR, and had a good, injury free season. I ran indoor track an had some good PRs. I ran at simplot and had a great time. I did track and  ran some goodtimes and cut my time down by 15 seconds, I was hoping that I could get low 5's in the mile, but I had fun and was able to race at the steepechase and have a fun time through out the season. At sophmore region I was able to PR in the 800 and I missed my PR in the mile by 2 seconds.

Junior year: I ran a little over 500 miles over the summer, but wasn't improving how I would have liked over the season. I was not consistant at all and was sick for aboout 3 races. I finally had a good race at region and dropped a 46 second pr. Track went well, I went sub-5 in the mile finally and got a PR in the 2 mile pretty easily. I didn't really hit the times I had hoped for throughout the season due to sickness and I just wasn't in it.

PRs:

800: 2:11

1600: 4:56.35

3200: 11:17.47

3 mile: 17:41

5k: 18:07

Short-Term Running Goals:

Cross Country 2016:

Run 650 to 700 summer miles SUCCESS

Low 15's on the 5K and Sub 15 3 mile

Place at region and state

Go to footlocker nationals

Track 2017:

Sub 4:20 mile

Sub 9:15 on the 3200

Sub 2:00 on the 800

Sub 6:25 on steeple chase

Qualify for State, Arcadia, and Great South West, and become the best runner I can be.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run cross country and track in college. Keep improving and just having fun. I'll probably run an ultra or two for the heck of it and to see if I like them.

Personal:

I'm a Senior at Weber High School. I am LDS and plan on serving a mission before college. I'm a member of The Hobbyjogger Project.

Great 6 miler super early this morning with Jake, Henry, and Travis Feeny. Averaged 6:52 pace and had a really great time talking to all of them. I've never really talked to Travis before, but it was good to finally meet him because we will be racing this year. Christian Warren was there also, and it was cool to get to know him beter too even though he did not get to run with us.

I was super excited to race today and was ready for it. I did a quick shakeout after I woke up and then we headed over to the course. I warmed up for 2 miles and did some strides and dynamics. The race started good, and I didn't start out too fast. I rode right behind the top guy with a small group before he fell off and died aroudn the mile mark.. I didn't really want to take off into the lead yet and just contined with my plan of sticking with the pack. Within the next quarter mile the rest of the group fell off and It was me and a lady left leading it. We ran right by eachother for pretty much the rest of the race and we sorta leap frogged, she would take the lead, then we would switch, then we would be next toi eachother, and that sorta just repeated through out the race. With about .75 of the race left she was making me hurt pretty bad and I almost lost her, but then I refocused and took the lead at the last big hill with about .3 left. I feel like hills are one of my strengths, so I used that to my advantage andrealy pused it hard up it. At the top of the hill there is about .15 left, I really started to kick and could hear her right behind me. I finished with a time of 18:05.4 and she finished about 4 seconds behind me. I was talking to her after the race and shes a legend! Her name is Melody Jenson and she ran for BYU a few years ago and has won the Deseret News 10k. I honestly had a realy good time racing with her and was glad she was the to push me. After I did a 2 mile cooldown with a mile of it being barefoot. Later tonight I did 4 more miles just to relax and looses my legs.

Good 7 miles with Add and Talon this morning on North Arm with the team. We followed Talon upto a mystical apple tree that he found, but neand add never actually got there. Talon met up with us again after we stopped at a restroom and we all ran back. It was really fun being able to talk to them and run with them because in the past i've been like a mile behind. Later tonight I did another 4

Easy 4 this morning before heading up to Bear Lake. Later tonight I did a 1-1-2-3-2-1-1 fartlek with 1:1 rest like I typically do. I did it aroudn the Paris Idaho Tabernacle, so it was pretty cool. I ended up with 6 miles including the warm up and cooldown.

8 mile long run this morning at a 6:54 pace, felt good but it was hard to get my legs moving because I just woke up and it was early. Worth it though because i was able to stay out of the heat. I picked some wheat, aprcots, and blackberries during it, which were all quite amazing and gave me an extra burst of energy. And yes, I do infact pick wheat while im running, pull the grain out, and eat it... I'm a weird kid, I know. lol After I got home I decided I have the upper body of a 6 year old, so I did P90x to get ripped. Later tonight I had planned on going 3 with henry but we ended up going 4.25. It has been a long time since we've talked so it was really good and fun to talk and catch up.

Woke up early to fit a 10 mile long run in before heading up to Cache Valley for my little brothers soccer game. Im not sure what my pace was, but I'm assuming around 7:30's because i'm honestly not used to running at 5 AM yet... Met up with Claire for another run before my brothers game, and we did 7 miles together. Ethan, Spence$$, and everyone else was out of town, so we ran up a place called Birch canyon if I remember right. It was a ton of fun! There were a few river crossings and It was seriously one of the prettiest runs that I've ever been on. It was beautiful up there. It was a ton of fun running with Claire, and it was great being able to run on a new trail.

5 miles this morning up at the top of the divide on the Ben Lomond side. I made it 2.5 miles up, which is farther than i've ever ran up in a team practice before. Later tonight I did another easy 5 to get to 10. I went at like 10 PM, so it was super dark and there was a full moon, so to be honest, I felt like I was going to get murdered or somthing pretty much the whole run. The wind was blowing the whole time and I kept passing houses with wind chimes that were freaking me out! So if by chance you happened to see a runner running back and forth in a zig zag pattern down Weber High drive, it was most likely me...

I ran over to McGriff park this morning to do a quick fartlek. I did another 1-1-2-3-2-1-1 and stayed around 5:50 for the fast and 7:30 for the slow. I felt a lot better doing it than usual so I'm getting stronger for sure. With the warmup and cooldown I went 7.5 miles. Later tonight I did 3 more around 10:30 after work. I guess last night wasn't sketchy enough for me; luckily I did not get killed, so that is definately a plus.

This morning we did an easy 7 as a team. I ran with Add and Talon and we had a good time. I got stung by a bee mid stride which is ironic becasue i've only been stung 3 times ever, and all of them have been on runs when I haven't been doing anything to anger them... We took an ice bath in the river after, and some of the dudes went off the rope swing. Later tonight I took Dan around Paris, Idaho for 3 miles at a pretty good pace just showing him the town and shaking our legs out after the drive.

Woke up early this morning and did a tempo with Dan up and down main street. We did a 2 mile warm up and then some strides. I did 2.5 miles at tempo pace and averaged right around 6:05. We did a 2 mile cooldown. Later tonight I did 3.5 miles out on a dirt road with my dad following me on a 4-wheeler so I didn't have to bring a headlamp.

This morning we did a circut workout down at Barker Park as a team that pretty much destroyed my butt. We did so many squats, lunges, and burpies that I am having a very hard time sitting down... That totaled as 4.25 miles. Later this afternoon I did 3.75 to work on getting used to the heat, and the I did another 4 with Jake and Henry after it had cooled down a little.

I slept like a baby last night in my hammock, but I'm way tired becasue Me and Jonah stayed up late and woke up early to take pictures. When we got home I did 5 miles in the heat and felt like I was going to die of heat exhaustion. Later tonight Me and Stathan did 6 more.
