Running Accomplishments:

Pre-highschool: I loved to run and ran a few small local 5k's, but I did not run much on my own, besides junior high track.

Freshman year: I ran cross country and traied wih the team most of the summer.  When the season started I ran 3 races including Murray Invitational.  I got a huge PR there but after the race my foot hurt and I had a hard time walking. I ran on it for the next week but it was not getting better, so I went to a Sports MD and found out that i had a stress fracture.  Becaue of that injury I missed the rest of the season. Then I ran track for my junior high but did not do extremely well.

Sophmore year: I trained hard over the summer and I got a 3 minute PR on my first race.  I continued to PR, and had a good, injury free season. I ran indoor track an had some good PRs. I ran at simplot and had a great time. I did track and  ran some goodtimes and cut my time down by 15 seconds, I was hoping that I could get low 5's in the mile, but I had fun and was able to race at the steepechase and have a fun time through out the season. At sophmore region I was able to PR in the 800 and I missed my PR in the mile by 2 seconds.

Junior year: I ran a little over 500 miles over the summer, but wasn't improving how I would have liked over the season. I was not consistant at all and was sick for aboout 3 races. I finally had a good race at region and dropped a 46 second pr. Track went well, I went sub-5 in the mile finally and got a PR in the 2 mile pretty easily. I didn't really hit the times I had hoped for throughout the season due to sickness and I just wasn't in it.

PRs:

800: 2:11

1600: 4:56.35

3200: 11:17.47

3 mile: 17:41

5k: 18:07

Short-Term Running Goals:

Cross Country 2016:

Run 650 to 700 summer miles SUCCESS

Low 15's on the 5K and Sub 15 3 mile

Place at region and state

Go to footlocker nationals

Track 2017:

Sub 4:20 mile

Sub 9:15 on the 3200

Sub 2:00 on the 800

Sub 6:25 on steeple chase

Qualify for State, Arcadia, and Great South West, and become the best runner I can be.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run cross country and track in college. Keep improving and just having fun. I'll probably run an ultra or two for the heck of it and to see if I like them.

Personal:

I'm a Senior at Weber High School. I am LDS and plan on serving a mission before college. I'm a member of The Hobbyjogger Project.

8.5 miles at the 24 hour run. I slept a lot more this year than in the past because I've been up late with homework this whole week. All of my miles were sub 6 so that made me happy. I went: 5:14, 5:31, 5:16, 5:42, 5:43, 5:40, 5:38, and 5:21. We paced some kids on to try to break their pr's so thats how I got the other half, those 400 splits were 73, and 77. I was happy with my times and felt like I got a good workout in. I did 10 on the treadmill this afternoon while watching General Conference; I threw a lot of random surges and inclines in it to get a bit more of a workout. I averaged 6:33's.

Easy 6.5 miles this morning. We did 8 X 800's at practice, and I was feeling pretty good until my stomach started cramping. I went 2:32, 2:32, 2:33, 2:34, 2:37, 2:35, 2:37, 2:32. I also got in a 2 mile warmup and .5 mile cooldown.

6 miles easy this morning. At practice we did another easy 6. Funny story, while we were running a car drove by and flicked up a rock... not a pebble, a rock. The rock floated through the air and nailed Jonah right between the legs. I'm not sure how that is even possible, but it's nuts hahahaha.

I did a three mile warm-up and then went over to the track to do a Pre-region workout. I did 8 X 200's at goal race pace with 200m jogging rest and some strides. I was feeling really good during it and am super excited for region. After I did half a mile around the track barefoot and then did another 2 miles for my cooldown. Later tonight I went up to Pole Patch to take some pictures and ran a mile up there on some trails just for fun.

We did about a mile warmup around the course. Overall I'm proud of my race, it was one of my best races all season even though it wasn't the time I wanted. The race started pretty quick, but I stayed pretty controlled and that helped me. I ran next to Casey Clinger for like 2 seconds at the start, so that was pretty dope. Congrats to AF for being freaking legends and Lone Peak for taking second and beating Davis ;) shoutout to Talon for taking third and to Casey and McKay from AF for being absolute ballers. After we did a cooldown over to Billy from milesplit to give him a Hobb Jogger Project shirt.

I ran up to the powerline trail above 500 W and ran over to Big Rock. The trails are beautiful right now, I could have stayed up there all day.

I did an easy 4 this morning before school. After school Me, Add, Talon, and Stathan ran on some trail that ended up taking us into pole patch. We bushwacked through the fields of Pole Patch and eventually found the trails that I sometimes run on up there. We hopped a lot of fences and stuff, so it was a lot of fun.

I did an easy 4 before school over to Bates elementary on my typical route. After school I did a 2 mile warmup and went down to Shady Lane park. I did 8x800's with about a minute and 30 seconds recovery. It was brutal; my splits were 2:37, 2:42, 2:46, 2:48, 2:49,2:49, 2:48, and 2:46. I did a mile cooldown and called it a day.
