| Member Since: May 24, 2015 Gender: Male Goal Type: Other Running Accomplishments: Pre-highschool: I loved to run and ran a few small local 5k's, but I did not run much on my own, besides junior high track.
Freshman year: I ran cross country and traied wih the team most of the summer. When the season started I ran 3 races including Murray Invitational. I got a huge PR there but after the race my foot hurt and I had a hard time walking. I ran on it for the next week but it was not getting better, so I went to a Sports MD and found out that i had a stress fracture. Becaue of that injury I missed the rest of the season. Then I ran track for my junior high but did not do extremely well.
Sophmore year: I trained hard over the summer and I got a 3 minute PR on my first race. I continued to PR, and had a good, injury free season. I ran indoor track an had some good PRs. I ran at simplot and had a great time. I did track and ran some goodtimes and cut my time down by 15 seconds, I was hoping that I could get low 5's in the mile, but I had fun and was able to race at the steepechase and have a fun time through out the season. At sophmore region I was able to PR in the 800 and I missed my PR in the mile by 2 seconds.
Junior year: I ran a little over 500 miles over the summer, but wasn't improving how I would have liked over the season. I was not consistant at all and was sick for aboout 3 races. I finally had a good race at region and dropped a 46 second pr. Track went well, I went sub-5 in the mile finally and got a PR in the 2 mile pretty easily. I didn't really hit the times I had hoped for throughout the season due to sickness and I just wasn't in it.
PRs:
800: 2:11
1600: 4:56.35
3200: 11:17.47
3 mile: 17:41
5k: 18:07 Short-Term Running Goals: Cross Country 2016:
Run 650 to 700 summer miles SUCCESS
Low 15's on the 5K and Sub 15 3 mile
Place at region and state
Go to footlocker nationals
Track 2017:
Sub 4:20 mile
Sub 9:15 on the 3200
Sub 2:00 on the 800
Sub 6:25 on steeple chase
Qualify for State, Arcadia, and Great South West, and become the best runner I can be. Long-Term Running Goals: Run cross country and track in college. Keep improving and just having fun. I'll probably run an ultra or two for the heck of it and to see if I like them. Personal: I'm a Senior at Weber High School. I am LDS and plan on serving a mission before college. I'm a member of The Hobbyjogger Project. Favorite Blogs: |

Footlocker West (3.107 Miles) 00:17:31, Place overall: 160 | | Not what I wanted or worked for, and definately not where I wanted to end my high school career, but I'm blessed to have the experiences that I have had. I've learned so much over the 4 years of cross, and it's hard to believe its all over. It's been an incredible experience and I wouldn't change it for anything. I've learned so much and have met the most incredible people and friends. I honestly love you all so much, thanks for everything. I did really well on the hills during the race and am proud of that. Thinking back there isn't much I would change about the race or my training. It's made me who I am, I set my standards a bit to high for myself, but I did run about a minute faster on this course than last year. I left the race knowing that I gave it my all and that there was nothing else I could have done, so that made it hurt a bit less. 2 or so mile warmup and a mile cooldown. Running seeded was fun, but it was irritating knowing that I would have medaled in the Senior race. That was my call though, nobody else to blame. Talon made it to nationals and freaking won the whole thing, so that was dope.

| | Me and Add got lost in balboa park. Then we halled trash around the course watching Talon. He took 4th and it was beautiful. Blessed to be able to train with him every day and be such good friends with him. We did a bunch of surfing today too, that may be the only sport that even comes close to running to me. I love it.

| | Me, Talon, and Denver met up for a really good long run. We ran on trails, road, snow, ice, and everything else, so it had a nice variety. We did 12 at 6:20 pace. It was a really great run to end off the year. I've grown as a person more this year than I ever imagined was possible. I met the most amazing people and made lifelong friendships. I figured out who I was and wouldn't change it with anything. This year has definately had its ups and downs. My running didn't fully go as hoped and planned time wise, but what I got from my running was worth so much more. At the start of the year I promised myself that I would run 2,000 miles this year. 6.5 miles a day 6 days a week. I thought that that was going to be hard and a stretch. I knew I could do it, but I didn't think I would be able to go over. I thought it would be close. So here is to all of the late night, early morining, and mid day runs. Here's to the hours spent in the freezing cold, blazing heat, and everything in between. Here's to all of the rainy, snowy and foggy runs. Heres to all of the people how told me I was an obsessed lunatic, you may be right hahaha I love you all, thanks for the lessons, the friendships, and the craziest year of my life.
