| Ok Mike here is my race report. Today was the 30th annual St. george half. It was a warm wet rainy morning with the wind. I forgot my garmin so do not have any mile splits. I was tight from the beginning and had a hard time warming up. Hamstring and calf were ginving be problems. I got to the race start and Met up With Steve and Steve. Both of them were going to pace Bigfoot to a nice time. I decided to put caution to the wind and go out with them. First mile 6:07 pace. Nice first mile if i were running a 5 k. miles 1-4 were pretty consistant. around mile 7 Mr Decker caught up to me. We exchanged a few nice words and i pushed the pace alittle. He passed me again and i could not hold his pace. 9-11 were fun miles I really slowed down on thease miles and several people passed me. 11-13 i picked up the pace because i did not want the 130:00 pace group to pace me. They were only about 10 seconds behind me. I caught two runners. I estamated i was probably running about 6:40 pace. Things i learnied. Try not to get caught up in another runners race. Stay more consistant on pace. if i would of went out on 6:40 pace the race would of been better. Take my Garmin next time. It is esyer to keep track of my progress. Do not wear shoes that have holes in the bottom on a wet rainy day! I ended up averaging marathon pace for 3:00 hours. |

| 8 perfect miles under the Dixie sun. I have not been to motivated to get out in the morning this week. Maybe i just need a small break after the race. | I met up with Bigfooot and Mustang at 7. We drove up the course and dropped off at mile 20? ended up being 19 miles up. starting pace was an easy lower 7 pace and we ended up picking it up from there. Are pace raged from 6:45 to 6:07 Pace for most of the run. This is a good first real long run. The plan is to go long at least once a week. |

I woke up and met a man who was 6' 2" and full of muscle. We drove off to the start of the Dog Town Half. From the start i was chasing him the entire way. Managed to finish in 129:27 Not to bad for a training run. Then afterwords I ran 7 more to finish off my 20 for the day. 95 for the week.

| It was a good day to meet up with friends and Run a half marathon. All the stars were there. Dave, Clyde, Steve, Buddah, Bigfoot and Mustang. I had a decent race. Not a great race. But much better then St. George Half. There were about 900 people running today and many out of town people. The first mile was on pace and i just wanted to try to keep a fairly even pace. All the elite runners were out of site after mile 2 and i was with the second group of guys. Bigfoot put the hammer down and started seperating from me around mile 3. Budah did the same. I just kept the pace even and i did not want to go to much faster. trying to save some for the last 6 miles. Aounnd mile 7 things started to click and i found some energy. So i picked up the pace to 6:18 and held that until the Hill around mile nine. The Hill was a Bear but i managed to push over it. From that point my pace was in the 6:40 Range to the finish. Left hamstring is a little tender. But the body feels great, and i can resume training Monday. |

| 20 mile day! Met up at Big foots place down by the river in the woods. The little Buddah and The "Sandman" (Tyler Kellie Lundell Shepherd) joined us for a nice run. We started a couple of miles above the volcano and ran down snow canyon. bigfoot took off about two miles into it and left us three in the dust. It is always fun running with these guys because they are such awesome runners. I met up with Big foot again at mile 12. We had some great miles. And he made it so much fun. He knows how to push me. We kept the pace in the low 6:20 ish until the cool down.

This morning my alarm went off at 5:15 and I put it on snooze. After hitting the snooze button 3 times I finally rolled out of bed and did my duty then got dressed and waddled into the dark down the pavement to the Hill. As soon as I hit the Hill and as my good friend Bigfoot would say “sweet mother of pearl” I turned my tunes up and my hat around and over the top I went. At the Top I about lost my chili and corn dinner from the night before. Managed to do 7 before I had to hit the showers. Taper day 2. 8 miles up and back from the elephant arch. |
