| I strained a muscle on monday so I hadnt run till this morning. I did a very slow first mile at about a 10 minute pace and every half mile I increased a little until I got to a 7 minute pace and it felt ok. Man i remember healing in a matter of minutes after a muscle spasm or strain. Now i have to wait days to weeks. |

| Well Sasha, I finally got myself on here. I ran the ogden 5k in the blistering cold and that course was wicked! 18 minutes and a few seconds. I felt good for the first mile then the hills came and chad, john and cody wizzed by me. We all finished close together which gave those young bucks the advantage with their speed. I would've gotten away with it too if it werent for them meddling youngsters! Chad was the exeption. Congrats to him! There is hope for us after all right Chad? It was a surpisingly slow start with 6 minutes at the first mile. Thats alright though, gives my oldness a chance! Very fun though and a great turnout! There wasnt any awards after though, whats up with that? Ive gotta have something to add to my wall of shame! |

Woke up and ran 4 miles with Jeff, Kory, and Steve from downtown Phoenix hotel. My legs were extremely tight from sleeping on the hard concrete floor in the hotel room. I dindnt get a bed because threes a crowd in a queen size bed, and also the fact that Steve was extremely leery of having me that close to him. I can run along side him but next to him in a bed is where he draws the line. The main reason really was my story I had told him about sharing a bed in moab with a friend that couldnt get a room down there and when I woke up in the morning my hand was on his back. So as you could only imagine the homophobic situation I created.
We then went to James and Libbys house who by the way were so gracious in letting us invade them this weekend! We rested and then drove out to the start of our race.
I was runner 5 in the first Van with Dave, Logan, Nick, Clyde, and James. We had some amazing times come from all our runners in my van. I was grateful for the incredible lead they gave me by my first run (Close to 5 minutes) I ran my buns off and kept the competitor from gaining time on me (Thank goodness!)
My Leg was 5.82 Miles and had a slight decline and a fairly good incline from mile 2.5 on. I ran on a divided high way with oncoming trafic at around 8 pm.
Mile 1) 5:06 Mile 2) 5:32 3) 6:05 4)5:50 5)5:24

Swam this morning. 2x300 meters. 1x200 meter. Felt very tired. I will run this evening.
I ran 7 miles this evening. the last 2 miles I did at a marathon pace. I couldnt get to a 5:30 mile like I wanted to. I averaged 6:30 miles and the last 2 miles were 5:52 and 6:05. I feel a bit of congestion coming on and I felt extremely tired. Im still taking a ton of vitamin c's and some glucosamine for my knee.
By the way, I had a eye appointment which has been 5 years in the making. Ive been having some dry eye problems. So I got my eyes dilated and couldnt see worth a crap after. I had my darkest set of sunglasses on and was running a blurry 7 miles. I could only make out the white line. Ill bet motorists thought I was a drunk runner or something! |

I met up with Cody and Logan at the start. I attempted a warmup at a very slow pace and my lungs felt aweful. I started out alot slower than last year, but it seamed like the competition was alot slower this year so it helped me. Logan caught up to me after a few miles and gave me a good pace until mile nine when he kicked into gear and showed me whats up. He got a 3 minute gap in the last 4 miles on me. I honestly dont know how he does it.
Mile 1-5.21, 2-5.31 3-5.41, 4-5.51, 5-5.48, 6-5.41, 7-5.47, 8-5.46, 9-5.56, 10-6, 11-5.25, 12-5.58, 13-5.46
13th overall 2nd in age 1:16:04
It was a time that I was shooting for considering the weekend I had last week. I felt good about my time even though Logan left me in the dust like that! Unbelieveable! Nice going Logan, and Cody. I ran 3 miles on treadmill to try to get my phlem boiling. Sick huh? Im considering not doing the Ogden 10 miler this sat. Ill have to see. By the way for those Ive talked to about a serious race with lots of beer and dogs in it check this out! I cant even qualify for it! www.baevents.net/bigmanrun/information.html It'll have you rolling! 200+pound athletes! very very funny! I would puke after the first station! And where the heck am I going to carry my tip money at?
Ok I started my evening run in the rain and ended up at the gym running on the treadmill. I did a total of 6 miles at a 7 minute pace. I actually feel good when I run but very congested. The lady on the treadmill kept looking at me like I was Clyde! Trying to clear my throat. Sorry Clyde no offense! Your all I look up to right now! I ran last night in south jordan and it was in the high 40's low 50's. When I got up to Ogden this morning it was 28 degrees and there was snow still on the ground there! Man I cant believe the differance 35 miles makes. I ran the 10 mile race today and I could feel congestion in my lungs when I did a 3 mile warmup. I wanted to try to keep a 5.30 pace for the first 4-5 miles until the hills came up but my legs were too tired from last week. I kept a short distance from Adam the whole race until mile 7. That is the most brutal hill climb any 10 mile race can have it slowed my times to 7 minute miles. Then, right at mile 7 Jon flipped his roller skates from under his shoes and said "see ya later suckers!" Im going to have a review board look at it. Its deffinately suspicious! Adam kept with him for a bit and then extended the lead from myself. The last mile had about 2/10 of a hill climb and I thought maybe I could gain some time on Adam but my legs told me I was freekin crazy. I had Chad right on my heels and I wanted to try to sprint the last .25 mile but there was so much black ice and slick on the finish that I actually slowed way down. That course was very dangerous! Very slick and I lost traction alot! Almost fell several times! This race was too close to Moab. Thats all I got to say about that!
My time was around 1:00.27
Sorry I didnt run with you guys after, I had to cough my lungs up! Ill see ya out at the half!

I ran 6 miles on the boring treadmill mill. I started out at 6.5 mph and worked up to 8.5 mph by the 3 mile mark, then I increased the grade .5 every .25 miles and ended up at 4% grade by mile 6.
I hope that substituting swimming for extra miles doesnt hold me back in Boston. I feel like my core and my shoulders are alot better then before.
I started my run at 6pm and ran 13 miles in a time of 1 hour and 26 minutes. My average pace per mile was 7.17. It was a bit windy tonight and it felt like i was grinding it out for the last 3 miles. I usually finish stronger the closer I get to my house so my neighbors think im fast! you have to understand my neighborhood. its keeping up with the Jones' here and since cash seems to not be growing on my trees I have to give them something to try to keep up too! I started my 18 mile run at 4:15 am this morning so I could make it to spin class. I felt extremely tired at first but warmed up after 4 or so miles. My average pace was 7.05 and I ran from mile 5-6 at a 6.15 pace and mile 9-10 at a 6.17 pace. I was stocked by a driver at 4:30 this morning, he actually pulled up behind me in the oncoming lane and was driving behind me. I have no idea what he was doing or if he thought I was a Hot Chic! I had my beanie on so he might of thought I was a very nicely figured lady! I had my headlamp on and turned around and when he saw my face and realized I was indeed a MAN he left me alone. It gave me the idea to start putting the 7 oclock shadow on girls when they run alone! |

Ran 4 easy miles at a slow pace this morning
Speed workout at the oval tonight. 1 mile warmup
1*1600@5.11, 1*1200@3.54, 1*800@2.43, 1*400@1.12, 1*400@1.10, 2 miles of cooldown. Felt like garbage tonight. I tried some oxygenated water before running and it gave me a stomach ache. This stuff is from Lindon, Utah and its called "perfect essentials" they told me I would win Boston if I drank this. I got on their website and I dont think you can buy this without a salesperson. The salesperson reminded me of the episode on carol burnette show with Tim Conway when he was trying to sale some shoes and told the customers they made them look several feet taller. He would lower the chandelier after they put them on. I hope some blogger out there remebers that. Im not that old! Anyways, I guess im waiting for the chandelier to be lowered for me or the kenyans to slow down for me this year in Boston! They didnt tell me i'd break the course record or anything, just win!

| The weather was bitter cold this morning, so they decided to do a reverse order in the race. They did the 3 mile run first, 11.3 bike second, 300 yard swim last. I felt good on the run and gave myself a good lead on everyone. I jumped on the bike and proceeded to do the 11.3 miles. I was immediately passed. It was a two loop bike race and on my second loop I was passed by another 4 bikers. I hung my bike up and ran to the pool which was inside and when I jumped in the pool it felt like a hot tub! It was extremely difficult to swim after exerting myself. I was passed by a couple of other guys making me finish 9th overall, and 2nd in age. I met up with Logan and his wife was competing in it! I told him my hopes of winning it but I ended up whining more than winning! I know I could have shaved a ton of time off if the event was reverse order. I did this same race in logan last year with a way better time and my swim was not as good as it is now. It was good to see Logan down there and his wife and I ended up winning a 2 lb twinlab whey protein fuel suplement. I talked to a bunch of guys down there and explained the fastrunning blog, so Ill hope to see them on it. |

| Went up to Eden to run this beautiful race. Very cold it was! (Yoda) and I ran in a singlet and shorts! It was about 30 something at the start and When I started the race I felt like I could stick with Logan and company but I backed off because I knew I couldnt finish a race the way those guys start out. I warmed up quick and then the canyon headwind started. It wasnt too bad at first but after we got out of the canyon and onto the flat land up there, I was wishing someone would pass me so I could get a break. I ended up running all by my self the whole way which doesnt bother me at all because I like to try to concentrate on myself without the distractions. I felt really good and had a plan to try to pick my pace up at mile 9 but by the time I got there the wind and a bit of incline kept me from trying to have a strong finish. After I finished I was astounded to find out that Dark Horse came in behind me. I didnt even stop my watch or look at the time when I came in so Im guessing my time to be in the 1:15 range again. Ill have to see when its posted. By the way Steve Ashbaker ran off the course thats why I was ahead of him. I had a moment for a couple of seconds till I found that out! Still let this race be known as the race I beat Steve Ashbaker. Sorry Steve, just let me have my glory till next race okay? Also that stupid chip card you put on your shoes rubbed the top of my toes till they bled. I asked someone at the second aid station if they would cut it off but they didnt have anything. I stopped for a couple of seconds to try and rip it off but it started to crack so I grimmaced and bore it! I wanted to run with team St. George/Fast Running Blog after but I had to get my Taxes done today so dont think im snubbing you alright? My next race is Boston and after today Ive got a bit more confidence to try for a 2:35. We will see! By the way my number for Boston is 1234 if anyone wants to track me on the 21st. |

I was planning on just swimming this morning, but when I got to the gym the lanes were all taken so I ran on the indoor track for a mile and a half and then decided to do a 10 min. tempo run so I ran on the treadmill and made it to just under 2 miles and then finished off my total of 4 miles on the treadmill. My legs are really tired.

| Ok ok Im finally home and now I can explain my marathon to my fellow friends. First of all, I remember last time Id run this marathon, there were very few porta potties along the way so I thought since it was a very cold morning that Id get away with not drinking anything before the start. I had a banana in the morning and that was it. I started out feeling very good despite all the site seeing I had done on sat and sunday. I actually should not have climbed the bunker hill stairs before because my calve muscles tightened up mega bad on sunday. I dont know why i had decided to do that at the time. I had to use my stick all night to work the knot i had in them. But while I was running in the race I felt really good and I knew not to push the pace like everyone around me was doing. I felt like I kept myself back and my times were fairly decent and at mile 9 there was a little incline and about half way up it my right calve muscle tightened up like it was the last 3 miles of the race! I thought that maybe i wasnt getting enough sodium intake and so at the next water stop I drank gatorade and after a mile or so my muscle stopped spasming and I felt good again. I got past the wellesley girls and up to then i was only doing gatorade at the stops. The sun was barining down pretty hard at that point and I felt myself sweating alot. There was a brisk head wind that was cool also so I think thats what gave me a sense of feeling alright. I had to go to the bathroom at mile 14 or somewhere and there was one portapotti at the mile marker and someone was in it. I felt like I was going to lose my bladder so I went behind the porta potti in the brush and while i was going a cop came over to me and disqualified me! He tried ripping my number off my jersey and I wouldnt let him so he wrote my number down and told me to quit. I showed him that there were several other runners doing the same and when he turned around he went over to them and wrote their numbers down as well. I didnt know what to do I was just standing there and a bystander told me to just run. So I ran and I heard the cop faintly telling me to come back. I figured I would probably be yanked out of the race at some point after that and my whole experiance turned sour. I started tightening up bad and realized I was dehhydrated. I drank two cups of gatorade at a full stop and 1 cup of water. my gut was slusshing the fluid around and I was screwed and I think I was at the 19 mile mark at that point. I tried to focus on one mile at a time and it was sooo hard. My whole demeanor had changed and I got depressed. the crowd was freakin amazing and at that point I had a goal to just beat lance and I finished a couple of minutes before him. I tried to walk after I crossed the finish and couldnt. I was taken to the med tent and I had lost 8 pounds which for me was alot! they put an i v in my arm because I was going in and out of it. they put ice on my calves and it hurt but I know it helped. Its the worst pain my body has been in since I got hit by a car and thats not kidding! I can feel bone on bone in my knee and my I T band has been telling me what a jerk I was for neglecting it. I will put this on my favorite spectator marathons, but my worst marathon after feeling like I was in a 2.30 zone from training so hard. Im upset, but happy to have done it at the same time! Its that after marathon feeling everyone goes through. Im going to see if my knee gets better in a few days before I try even walking on it. I hope this wasnt too depressing for you all! |

Im deffinately not running the 30k on saturday and Im now nervous for Ogden. I will swim and bike a little to try to keep my heart pumping. Im really angry with myself right now. Ive been going through those why did I not drink more or stretch more or do this or that better. Why didnt I listen to Jon and try to stick to a 19-20 minute 5k at the first. Oh well. Have you ever had jets flying overhead at a start of the race? Talk about an adrenaline rush! I could have pr'd on my first 5k if I would have pushed it! |

My right calve was super tight and it slowly loosened up and the back of my knee still has pain. Im going to do a strecthing seminar today at 9 am because I need it! Im seriously thinking about yoga too! I remember in high school i could dang near do the splits. I cant even touch my toes now when I bend over. Ive got to get more stretchy! This morning I swam 4x200 yards, 1x350, 1x250 and then finished off with a 200 yards.
I poured 6 yards of concrete on a porch cap on a house just up emigration canyon and saw christina running! Shes on this blog by the way. Very funny. I was very envious of her. I would much rather be running up that canyon then pouring concrete! After that I poured a foundation in herriman 46 yards and then came home laced up my shoes and my wife made me edge the lawn before I ran so I told her yes mam!
I ran 11.25 miles in 1:16 minutes My stupid garmin 305 watch is broken and it wont pick up a satelite signal. I had to pull the new garmin 405 out of the box that im giving my wife for mothers day and use it. Dont anyone tell her ok! She wont read this so im safe! Its an awesome watch. I put it back in the package and she wont even know! I may have to fight her for it! |

| I ran this morning starting out at 5:40 am. I reloaded the software on my garmin watch and its working now exept its not registering my miles right. It was working fine while I was running and when I tried loading it to the computer something happened and it wont tell me my times at all. weird! I ran a total of 15.5 and it was good to see all the people out running this morning! My legs are still in denial from Boston so im going to do some serious sodium intake this week and try to get them stretched out as much as I can. |

| Ok first of all I wanted to thank Logan and his Wife for putting on a great Pasta party! Its good to put some faces to the names on this blog. After the party I was driving home to south jordan and my truck broke down and I had to have it towed! the tow truck showed up at 10:30 and my wife showed up at 11 pm. I raced home and got my stuff together and turned the lights off and the alarm went off. Hey, Im just telling you how it was! We got up to the race and I made a game plan to run with Cody. I have to say his running has really improved since Striders! Thanks Cody and Ben if you read this for keeping me at a safe pace. I probably would have tried to push it and stick with Jeff and Chad and I know I would have bombed out because my legs are still not 100% better from Boston. I felt really good at mile 18 but not as good as Cody. He put on the gas and gained 200 yards in no time on Ben and myself. I was still not sure as to try to go after him so I just stuck it out with Ben and he seamed to be struggling and by the 19th mile we were back running together. At mile 22 Ben got excited and took off with a great pace, I was surprised at it. Kory wheatly then passed me and really stayed just ahead of me and cody. I had nothing left and I just tried to not stop, but at 25 I had to try and catch my breath and cody passed me. I stayed close behind him until the last couple of blocks and he picked up the pace really good. So I just worked on keeping myself from being passed by anyone else. I was very light headed at the finish but my legs were way better this race than at Boston. I will give my body a break next week and do some cross training and then concentrate on building my miles up to 90+ a week. This race was extremely difficult to run in due to the blistering heat. My shoulders are fried! It was good to see everyone at the start and finish and I must say we make a huge presence when we are in the blog/running company atire! |

We ran some steep trails and ran into some cows and dead dear and a freak bull that wouldnt move out of the way. Luckily Cody was the only one wearing red so we ran the opposite direction he did. Was really good conditions considering the light drizzle and overcast. Thats my second trail run this year believe it or not. It was very challenging. The back of my right knee feels horrible but im not giving up running. If it gets worse then ill back off but it seems that while im running up steep inclines it gives me a jolt of pain but while im on the down and flat its ok. So its probably my IT band for sure. |

After about mile three up there I saw someones shoe and it was recent! It wasnt old or anything. It made me very nervous and I looked around for blood or drag marks and couldnt see anything so I kept running. I got into some thick snow and it was about 9" deep but I kept running to the top of the turn around. It was a very pleasant run and if there were more people on the trail I would have gone further. |

Ok here is my pathetic attempt to do something out of the ordinary. I got to the start line of the swim in the Snake river in Burley. There was at least a 40 mph wind coming from the west blowing east. I thought it wouldnt affect me because the current is going west and would pull me but with the wind hitting the water, it turned into whitecaps similar to the sand hollow disaster a couple of weeks ago. I started my swim and it was my first open water so I was nervous. I tried to get air but everytime i tried to pull my head up out of water, a wave would crush down on me. At one point it hit me three breaths in a row and I was suffocating. The boat tried getting me in but i wouldnt get in I treaded water for a bit till I could breathe and worked my way to the finish. I had swallowed a fair amount of the river as well as alot of the other swimmers. In fact they had pulled almost half the swimmers out of the water before they finished so I felt like I was ahead of the game a bit. I got my bike jersey on and thought Id be alright because it was about 60 degrees and I started biking and that head wind was slowing everyone down. I was going on average 10-11 mph on my bike which I could run faster! It was 25 miles of head wind and the rest was at our back. At mile 20 I had to go to the bathroom bad and saw a gas station so I went in and asked if I could use there facility and they said NO! so I went outside and just as I opened the doors to come out of the station, I puked! just outside the doors. Most of it was river water and I walked over to my bike and puked 2 more times. I made it to the aid station at mile 23 and went to the bathroom and puked again and I had a line waiting for me outside the portapotti so I forced myself to go out and get back on my bike and I started biking and made it to mile 25 and we finally got a tailwind that was nice, but I was so wiped out from puking that everytime I tried drinking my water Id puke. I made it to mile 33 where there was an ambulance and they pulled me from the race and took my bike back. I probably would have made the bike with only 23 miles to go but I knew I would be in trouble for the season if I forced myself to try and finish. It was the first race Ive never been able to complete and it frustrated me but I have to think about the bigger picture for this year. Maybe next time ill plan one out at the end of the year. It was the hardest thing ive ever done and at the end of the race I talked to a couple of good triathletes that ran down in st. george when they stopped the race on the sprint triathletes and he told me the water was way worse here than down there so Im chalking this up as a learning race and if the elements are this extreme Ill never do one again. |

Bear Lake Half Marathon 01:19:20, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | Running Miles | Swimming Yards | Bike Miles | 13.10 | 0.00 | 0.00 |
| Ok I drove up to Bear lake saturday morning from Logan to run the half marathon. It was pretty unorganized from the get go and we bussed up to the start and there were no porta potties. Just a farmers field with alfalfa about 18" tall. I went as far away from the start line as I could and went with several others doing the same. I went to the start line and took my warmup clothes off and there was no clothing drop! I went to the official and complained about it and one of the volunteers had a suv that we threw all our stuff in. The race started at 8 am and the sun was up with a slight head wind. We started on the South East corner of the lake and made our way around to Garden City park. The miles were in a count down fasion so we actually started at 13.1 and counted down. I actually liked that. When we started everyone was running so slow and you know me, I like to bust out of the gate! I actually ran a 6:31 for my first 1.1 mile which was about a 6 minute pace. I felt good, the scenery was the best but the course was so straight that it got boring quick and after 2 miles I grabbed a drink and looked behind me and found myself alone! I then kept a 6 minute mile for a few miles and I got bored so every water station I stopped and drank the water and gatorade and talked for a few seconds to the volunteers. After 7 miles I started playing a game of what I thought I could run the next mile in to keep my mind off the long straight parts. I guessed a 6:15 for the first one and slowed my pace down and nailed it! the next mile I told myself to break a 6 minute so I sped up a bit and got a 5:57. Then I tried to do a 6 even mile and hit a 6:01! That was the only thing that kept my mind off the course. I finished in 1:19 which is not a banner Half for me but with WBR next week I used this as a good training run. The second place runner came in at 1:25 and the 3rd was a lady with a 1:26! This is my first Half marathon win so I feel real good have finally won a race of this caliber. I won $100 bucks, a free entrance to next year, and a trophey. I also saw Chad and Jon up there running the 10K and they did a 2nd and 3rd overall with some good competition up there for that race from the sounds of it so make sure you read there blogs. |

Ok I started my race on friday around 8pm. It was pretty hot! My first leg was 5.1 miles and my split times were: 1--5:21, 2--5:45, 3--6:00, 4--6:10, 5--6:22 overall time 31:27. I felt really until the heat got to me. I had a good 3 miles and then I was toast. My second leg was this morning at 12:16 am. It was hard to get my legs back into a rythm. It was a total of 2.93 miles and my splits are 1--5:40, 2--5:57, 3--5:24. my overall time was 17:02. I immediately fell asleep as Kimball drove us to the sleep station. I woke up at 4 am to the sound of Sasha screeming "Walter and Tyler" where are you! I had the worst time sleeping and my last leg had 559' of incline in it and when I got out of the van my body said, not today! So of course i ignored it and ran my last leg of 5 miles. my splits are 1--6:44, 2--7:01, 3--6:18, 4--6:13, 5---5:22. overall time was 31:40. We came in behind BYU by about 40 minutes and that put us in 2nd. We also had another team that was the blue team that came in behind us. Im pretty sure we got 2nd and 3rd. It was a great time had by all and I would deffinately write a page from this but I keep falling asleep. Thanks to all that put me on the team and let me pretend I had a chance to beat some awesome college guys. Maybe next time. |

I did some speed work this morning on riverton's track. After a mile and a half warmup I did 8x200's and 4x400's. my 200's pace was around 39-43. My 400's were 1.13-124. Then I did a cool down. It was hard and my legs are still tired from saturday. Its been harder to recover from the WBR then a half marathon. It was real windy this morning and the sprinklers were watering the track more than the lawn. It was a shocker to get hit with a spray of canal water at 5:30 in the morning! I hope I dont get sick.
I ran 10 miles tonight up millcreek canyon from the gate close to the top to the upper parking lot. It was close to 5 miles up at a 8:15 pace. The elevation started at 6077' and ended at 8000' which was a rise of 1923' over the 5 miles. Most of the rise was at the top. It took me 42 minutes to get up and coming down I did a 5:45, 5:28, 5:08, 6:05,5:17. My hip took some serious jolts and Ill have to ice it tonight. |

For those who havnt been to Hamilton, your missing out! Brad Pitt shot his movie "a river runs through it" there and he actually owns alot of land off the bitter root river. He even bought the bar that he was killed in the movie in. We ran 7.5 miles at a 9:46 average which felt pretty good to do a nice paced run this morning. My right hip is in a bit of trouble. I cant tell if its my muscle or problems from 1993 when I got hit by a car. I can usually feel quite a bit of pain at the end of marathons from my hips and pelvis. But Ill keep icing it and live to be another day older. |

We ran a great loop and after a few miles I got to talking with Jeff and he pulled my pace quicker and we soon found ourself ahead a ways. We followed the park city half marathon course and then the start of the marthon course. We ended up running a few more miles than the others at an insane pace. Jeff is a great runner, very strong. We caught up to the others on their last mile and finished up with them. It was about 45 degrees in the morning and warmed up to the 60's by the finish. It was sooo nice up there this morning. |

| I went up to millcreek main gate and ran 5 miles up and 5 miles back. As I was going up a bike wizzed by me and I made it a goal to keep him in my sites. It got steep and he slowed to a crawl and I passed him and got a good 300 meters ahead of him. As it started to level out I made it to mile 4 and he passed me again and then there was some more steep parts. I worked hard to catch him and I could tell he didnt want me to beat him to the top so he got up on his peddles and was working hard. Just as I kept getting a few meters from him there would be a level area and hed take off and then Id catch him again on the steep. He ended up beating me by about 100 feet and he was surprised I could keep up. I told him Id race him to the bottom and he laughed. I made it up and back in 1 hour and 12 minutes. I averaged 7:45's up and 6:20 down. I love that course, its going to be opened tommorrow for traffic. Bummer. |

| I ran the Blacksmith Fork Canyon 15k today, my goal was to try and keep Josh Steffen in my sites and see if I had enough to strike at the end. My goal was to run a 5:35 Average and I met that goal. The keeping up with Josh was not acheived! He is a freekin' amazing runner. He has come a long way in a short time. He ended up in second behind I think his name is Lane or something like that. Carson Cambell was up there also and was a 1/4 mile ahead of me most the way. I got a PR today in the 15k and I had Cody Draper to thank for it. He came up the canyon on his bike and assisted me with some water and encouragement as I ran. I was about 12th overall at the 3 mile mark and chewed my way slowly to 6th place from alot of high school kids dropping there times after 3 or 4 miles. When I overtook the 6th place it was the hardest. I dont know who the runner was but he had me up the hill at the end and was putting distance on me and then stopped and puked! I caught him and cody kept an eye on him while I had 2 miles to go. It was a rough 2 miles knowing he had some strength left and he chewed up my gap of 200 feet to a few seconds. I had a half a mile to go and I pushed as hard as I could and kept him from striking distance and finished in 51:57! YES! Thanks Cody! although I felt like jumping on your bike in a few spots. Just let me know when you want me to return the favor! Ill help you PR anytime! Congrats to Josh and His Wife Meagan who won for the Women! Awesome. Now get yourself on this Blog! | I drove to first Dam up logan canyon and ran up the canyon until I caught the trail and did 4 miles up and 4 miles back. It was a nice slow pace and it was windy. I caught part of the newspaper article from the Herald journal of the race yesterday and it commented on the results and said the names of the 4 other guys that beat me overall and called me a marathon veteran. Wow, Im not worthy! I thought that was a nice gesture for a me. |

| I havnt been running the past two days because of some abdomen pain. I went to a doctor today and they told me I had a hernia. I have to meet with a surgeon on thursday at 10 am and I will let you all know what is up. If they do surgery, I will be out close to a month. Im going to ask if I can get away with putting it off until the winter and then doing it. Ive never had problems with my body before, Ive always been in a laboring position and my body is starting to catch up with me. I did have a funny thing happen when I went in to the doctor, the nurse took my weight and started shaking her head. 132! Then I told her my cell phone probably weighed close to a pound. lol She then took my pulse and couldnt believe it. It was 44! I asked her what the matter was and she told me my pulse was freakishly low. I laughed as she left the room and could hear her talking to my doctor. When my doctor opened the door, she was still talking to the nurse and said "he's a freak of nature that runs too much and it wasnt anything to worry about." I asked her as she came into the room if I blew her nurse away and she said "yeah you freak!" I will keep you all posted. |

Get on this blog asap and you'll be guilt free. Ok. So, we started at the powerplant up at the start of the SLC half marathon and we ran up to emigration and down and followed the desnews course and ended on foothill blvd at the kmart. We actually backtracked a mile or so and made it a good 16.5 miles. My legs were a bit sore and it felt good. Ill take it easy now as I have the rest of the day to rest. | I ran a 2 mile warmup with Paul, Jon, and Cody and I didnt really feel like running. I can usually get my mind set to feeling like racing even when Im sick. I started the race a bit fast but felt good and in control. There was 2 young kids ahead of me and they were running about a 5:10 pace and I wasnt sure if they were running the 5k or 10k so I kept myself close to them in case they passed the turn around point for the 5k. Sure enough they did and I found myself all by myself and in a head wind. My times after that suffered a bit from boredom and wind. I hate wind. It wasnt too bad but enough to slow me to a 5:55 pace. After the turn around I saw Jon and Paul side by side and they were about 200 yards behind me I was expecting a barrage of apples from them but luckily there wasnt any trees along the way. I felt good on the turn around with a bit of wind to my back but it wasnt enough to feel a great push. I made it to mile 4 1/2 and Jon caught me and passed me and then came the down hill which he is so good at. I told myself to try and stay with him and I tried my darndest and after that came a quick steep uphill and I started to close on him but by the time I hit the top it flattened out and he took off. I couldnt close the gap and every surge I had he had also so I finished barely ahead of Paul for 2nd place. I really wanted to try and hit a 5 minute mile on one of my miles but I was too tired. I rested too long on my camp trip and it showed. My miles were 1)5.20, 2)5.57, 3.1)(actually was 1.1 miles) 6.06, 4.2)(actually 1.1 again) 6.01, 5.2)5.46, 6.2)5.38 |

| Ok I woke up at 4:15 am this morning and drove to the bus pick up. It was slow getting on but made it up there. Grouped up with Fast running blog/St. George running team and the weather was nice. This was my first time on this coarse and it always makes me nervous as I didnt look at a map at all on this race. The start was blistering fast. Jeff shot out like a cannonball! Didnt see him after the 2nd or 3rd mile. My first mile was a 5:13 which I actually thought would be faster. I was around 8th or 9th place. 2nd mile was a 5:21 still downhill and still in 8th place. 3rd mile was still some downhill and hit a 5:24. 4th mile was 5.12, 5th was 5.33 and then the hill came and I dropped two spots to 6th overall right behind Adam and Chad. 6th was a 5.49 due to the incline and 7th was 5.10. We were off the highway at this point back on the trail and I noticed one of the three in the first group had dropped off a little and Adam and Chad and I worked hard to catch him but didnt have enough trail in the end. It ended up being Sasha who I was surprised to see running after a brutal Des news race recently. (At least it is for me Sasha, that is a hard race) So my 8th mile was 5.33 and 9th was 5.37. I was fading a bit and feeling fatigued. 10th was a 5.40 and I felt good at this point so I tried to make a push and only made it about 100 yards when my gut started acting up. Due to the lack of Porta jons on the coarse and at the finish I didnt want to make my finish in poor taste if you know what I mean! So I figured Id just hang on to 6th and if I could maybe do 1 mile push to catch Chad. 11th was a 5.38 and 12th mile was a 5.49. As I got back on the river trail I took a right turn and went the wrong way for a 100 feet before a lady told me I was going the wrong way. I turned around and went the other direction but lost sight of Chad and I had wondered if I was going the right way or not!? I kept going and then finally saw an arrow and when I looked at my watch it said 13.1 miles on it so I knew I was close. I sprinted the last leg and my finish time from my watch was 1:13:23. My 13th mile was 6 even from messing up and my last sprint on my watch was .26 with a 1;13 which is faster than my speed workout quarters. The Bloggers did a 1-6th place sweep! I told Sasha I had the most pressure on my shoulders because I had to keep everyone else behind me! lol Ok Not a bad day to PR! |

My left leg is killing me and I kept running thinking it would loosen up and go away and it didnt so I made 2 miles on the track and then stopped, stretched and went and laid down in the car until Misty was done. Its weird, it kind of feels like arthritis, I stretched and I dont feel any muscles or tendons that are in the area. I will ice and rest today and maybe see if I can run tonight. |

| Ok I waited for the coolest time tonight to run and did a 5 mile run. My leg had a dull pain going up the hill to daybreak and coming down it had a sharp pain. So I guess by the sounds of it, its a tendon or muscle when its a dull pain and its a ripped tendon or muscle if its a sharp pain. Thats what the doc told me today. If it gets worse after this race Ill look at it closer. Pain is temporary, unless it becomes permanent right? Its like someone out there has a voodoo doll and is messing around this blog. Its not funny. |

| Wow, this is a first that I got a 8 hour sleep time in. I ran at 8:40 and put in 3 miles. I stopped to talk to a neighbor who I had no idea was a runner. She ran her first marathon in Salt Lake this year and was disappointed. I told her I didnt blame her because that is a blankety blank course in my opinion. I gave her the blog name and hopefully she'll get on here. She goes down to Lifetime fitness and was in a marathon running program they had. Her first name is Sharon. My leg is in cahoots but jimmy crack corn and I don't care. Ill see what it does after tomorrows race. It was a bit hot this morning and I worked up a full out sweat! That is rare for a skinny guy that doesnt sweat too much. |

7: 5.25 .1: .57 Ok I got to the buses early and was waiting for Trick, my wife and her sister and bro in law were all there and were too anxious to wait for me so they jumped on the bus without me and I waited a few minutes and then met up with Trick. We headed up and regrouped at the top. My leg was hurting so I decided to run 1 mile as a warm up. The race started and I felt pretty good. I had some pain but only when it got steeper. I pretty much ignored it and tried concentrating on the race. I ran with Cody, Jon, and Paul and our first mile was a bit slow but Sasha and Josh were running pretty conservatively so it didnt bug me. Our pace sped up a bit more and more every mile as you can see. Thats thanks to Jon. He was in Kick mode. I had a rock stuck to the bottom of my shoe and it stayed there most the race. I was talking to paul and tried kicking my sole and just about ate it. Paul assured me that he would have laughed his head off and used that as a great story in the blog. Thanks Paul! Every mile Jon started to get a bit of a gap on me and Paul until we hit the bottom and thats when my stomach turned upside down on me. It was painful but I pushed on and looked for a porta jon from mile 8 or so and there wasnt one there! I hit the ten mile mark and still nothing. I held on as long as I could and didnt want to finish the race like Kellis picture of the guy with diarreah down his leg. So I had to do a Sashas specialty and luckily I found a canal so I could hide myself. I was down there making colors in the brush that sherman williams couldnt even match! I felt a million bucks better even though I couldnt match Sasha 5 second record. I ended up being down there for at least 45 seconds and I thought I might have been passed by someone, but nobody did. I had a slight hill for mile 11 and 12 and then the last mile was gradual downhill. I tried to make a goal of beating my first mile time so I picked it up as much as my stomach would allow. I finished well behind Jon and Paul who I had in my sights for trying to make a rally finish but not today. I immediately went straight to the bathroom and finished my tour of TOU out! Jon and Cody and Paul did a cool down which I was afraid to run anymore (sorry guys no offense) I watched Trick and then my nephew, and bro in law and his wife and then misty and her sister come in. I won a pair of walkie talkies for my boat and took second in my age which got the neat trophies they do, similar to St. George's which is a red rock with a kokapelli looking runner on it. The winning time was 1:06 by Teran Jameson. Nice run everyone! Congrats to Josh also, great running buddy! And I cant forget his wife Meagan Call who won the womens overall!! Nicely done Meagan if your reading this you got your picture in the Logan herald twice in color! Ive never got a color shot before! I kept a copy for you so Ill get it too you. I guess Im not so much of a Veteran marathoner up there anymore, everyone from SLC were erased from the final standings thanks to Teran's little tiff he had at the finish line when they wouldnt give his prize money to him. Awkward! They have never given out money on that race ever. Only the full marathon. When the press found out about it they were a little disturbed by the "Salt Lake runners" attitude. I guess these fast city boys expect their money for running. lol

If you were wondering, yes im invested in an oil field. lol Actually I do have a gas stock that does pretty good. I got home at 7: 15 pm and realized I didnt have time to eat and run so I just went and ran after a long day. I did 10 boring miles against traffic and I sure do hate running in traffic. Im back now and hopefully I can wind down enough to sleep and do it again at 5 am. |

Ran on the Riverton Track this morning again, this time with Trick and Misty. Did 6x200's, 4x400's, 2 mile warmup and 2 mile cool down. Daddy's tired! Him needs rest, too bad he has to go to work now! I ran 7.5 around Daybreak temple and then up around the new daybreak lake and around back down home. I finished at 9:45 and boy is it dark now! Nice and cool though! Now I must unwind, release the hounds, ice the calves, stretch the piggies, and whatever it takes to sleep and wake up early and do it again!

Trick wasnt feeling good and we made it 10 miles in 1:37. She told me to go without her and get her hubby to come and get her. My goal was to do the last 10 in 1:10. I did my first few mile at around a 7 minute pace and then decided to do 1 mile tempo runs. My first mile was a 5:41, second was a 5:31 and third was a 5:22. I ran 6 miles off and on with tempo like that. I ended up smashing my 10 mile goal time with a 1:04! I felt really good. |

My last mile I was paced by my bishop who told me if I could run 12 mph next to his suv he wouldnt put me in the bishopric. I held it for about .8 miles and that was all I could do. I was on my 14th mile by the way. I begged for mercy and he told me he'd think about it. I told him I was comfortable at teaching primary kids which I think is a wrong answer for bishop talk. I did something to my neck and cant turn to the left, only the right. So it took me a while to get home after because I could only make right hand turns. It was dark and a bit brisk this morning. I ended up doing it late tonight around Daybreak temple. Nice and cool temps and it got dark quick. Lots of people I recognize waved to me before it got too dark. I can only imagine what conversation goes on when I run past them. | I ran with Misty, Charity and Trick this morning. Started at Tricks house and got onto the park trail and ran 10.5 out and back. They were having an aided long run on the trail so I got to get water and gatorade along my run which was nice. It seems like the miles that Trick was having a hard time on went by quicker when we struck up conversation. She can easily talk while running even better than me. At mile 17 I took off on my own and did 1 mile tempo in 5:38 and then jogged a mile and then hit mile 19 and did a 1 mile tempo in 5:50. That mile had some head wind. I then jogged 1 mile and then did a .25 mile sprint. Then I ran back to Trick and she was only .75 miles back and I ran in with her to get my 22.5. I feel great, I had some shin splint problem when I started but it dissipated. Time for an Ice bath Now Ill leave you with the Disney goodbye theme. MIC See you real soon! KEY Why? I was going to run at 2:30 this morning to see if it would make me tired enough to forget about my problems but I chickened out. I got my daughter off to school and then had a meeting with an account Im working on. Then dealt with this BS that may cost me my business. I swear I cant be everywhere that I need to be during the day so I pay out the wazoo for someone to try and help and all he does is hinder. It is frustrating. I put a full day of driving around and trying to patch up this and it didnt even resolve it. So hopefully I can get it out of mind enough to sleep this evening! I ran at 6:30 tonight to help calm myself and try to force myself in a coma. I ended up running 12 miles in 1:25 which is a 7:09 mile. |

I ran up at the capital today. I did the Hansons-Brooks Brian Sell simulator run. Its where you get a course simular to the marathon course your training for. It was in this months Runners World magazine. You switch Kilometers for miles so today I ran 26.2 Kilometers which equals 16.3. I started out with a 6:50-7:00 minute mile for the first 4 miles then I got to my race pace of 5:35-5:50 for 3 miles then I hit the hills of City creek canyon. I ran 4 miles up the canyon at a 7:15 pace and then came down 4 miles with a 5:15-5:30 pace. There were alot of runners up there this morning. I saw some familiar faces from Locomotion and Salt Lake Track Club. It was not cold at all and felt super great for a hard workout like this one. I had alot of fun even though I was by myself and would like trying to do these more often with someone to push me.

I went up to Logan yesterday and watched some of the runners come through before a birthday party started that I attended. Im a little upset at myself now that I didnt run Top of Utah this year but I know it would have been my last race of the year. I found an article in the Herald Journal about me and Sasha predicted to be among those to win the race and look at me, I didnt even run it. The one time I get recognition in a local paper and im a no show. Im not sure why the columnist of the paper has an interest in myself, but I feel embarrased now. Oh well, live and learn huh!?

| Yes my sleep time needs improving. I got up and was going to do 5 miles and got a phone call from a police station in Heber from my foreman of my crew that he was arrested and needed me to come get his pickup. I went up there and arrived at 7:30 and they wouldnt let me take it. So I begged with them for the tools that were in it. They allowed me to them and I cleaned all my drills, transits, expensive stuff that I needed for the day and then went up to the job site. It started to pour up there so I called it off and had to go help my foreman get out of Jail. After $200.00 just to get him out I told him that my patience of losing money on his cause was frustrating me into no sleep and no money! I told him that I was up all night trying to decide on whether I should fire him or not and this kind of pushed me to a conclusion. Frustrating! I will try to get in some miles this evening after all my little meetings with people are over. |

| Okie dokie. I got up at 4:15 got the clan together and met at the busses. We rode up to the rainy start and it was evident that it was going to be a rainy marathon. I read an article about extreme conditions in races and how you should not worry about time at all because most people panic when they see their times suffering. I followed this. I took off real easy my first mile was 6 minutes and it felt like I was pushing it. I was with Jon Allen. We pushed the pace a bit and we saw a group running together just before mile 7. We caught them and used them a bit to break the wind. After the steep hill, a few sped up but we decided not too. Good Decision Jon! Last year I blasted up it and was passed severely by alot of runners in the end. I made it to mile 11 and had to go bad so I stopped off the side of the road and found that I was losing alot of ground because it ended up being one of those long 1 minute pees! lol So I had to fight my way back to the pack and when I caught them, Jon had taken off. So I started pushing myself to catch him and found myself by myself with a crappy head wind and just didnt have enough strength to catch him. So I held back and used the pack to my advantage. I let them brake my wind for 1/2 mile and then decided to share so I took a lead and James kept up. I think it was mile 15 or so when I found myself alone with James and we started to make a bit of a push. We got to mile 19 and saw Jon Allen. He had worked hard to be where he was and fought that head wind by his self! I felt bad that I couldnt be there to help him and vice versa. James had alot in him and we finally caught up to Jon and we looked good together all in the same blogger jersey! We were 17th, 18th, and 19th overall and I dont think we passed anyone. It was a soggy day and im glad its over. I wanted a better finish time but not in these conditions. After the race, I went back a mile and helped Trick and Allison (My old spin instructors) in They did a 3:45 I believe. Then I went back 2 miles and helped My old lady in. She was helping her sister stay motivated and they hit a 5:30 which is great for a sister with 7 children and her first marathon without ever running in her life. |

| Ok Im back in town because of some work problems forced me home and now that im back it wasnt as serious as it made out to be. However, my darling daughters decided to get a nasty virus on both my laptop and desktop computers. I am desperate for a computer so I went to Costco and bought a new laptop while PC Laptops is going through the two others. They told me my hard drive is gone on my laptop and they wanted to charge me 2700 bucks to get my old info off of it. If any of you out there know how to do this let me know. Oh and I have 100 dollars just to get my quickbooks info off of it. I dont really care about anything else. My Powell vacation was supreme! 80's temps and water was close to 70. I met a competition wakeboarder from Holland who was camping next to us and when he saw the wakeboard tower he asked if he could have a ride. So I took him and he was amazing! He did a flip and landed perfectly then did a reverse flip after that. It was awesome. We were putting on quite the show for all on the beach! I made my wife take some pics and when I can figure out how to install all that crap back on this computer, Ill show you all his talent. I forgot to tell you all when I got home there was 300 messages for me! It will be a while until I get to you all and tell you about my soggy SGMarathon! |

By the way it was good to see Teena in the flesh finally! Kelli, Scott, Teena and myself all went to Hillcrest High so we had our little Almamater group talk! lol I knew a few neighbors of Scotts so we started doing the do you know game. Funny-small world. Ok so I got home and realized my daughter didnt have school today so I could have done breakfast with you Kelli and Scott! And Teena and whoever had time this morning. Next time I guess? |

I started my morning run at 6 am at Tricks house and made it to the park trail and ran 5 out and 5 back with a .1 sprint after. I saw Mark and Teena in the dark and I swear I know mark from somewhere everytime I see him I do the hey I know you look. It was pretty warm with a few cold spots along the way. I also saw some BBK runners out and about. A great day! I am going to Lagoon with the family today! I love it this time of the year there. Spooky fun!
As you can see in this photo we had a full boat!

| I should have up'd my mileage yesterday from all that walking around Lagoon! lol I was going to ad a little incident that happened to me this week that I broke my toe at work and thought it was just bruised at first but its not getting better. I actually did it on Wednesday and ran with the BBK group on Thursday. I hope that means I have a tolerance for pain. lol It really hurts when Im not wearing shoes. The shoes actually feel better on my toe as it helps it from bending. Lagoon was crowded and busy but I seemed to evade it all year and felt bad for my kids so I went. One funny thing that happened was we took our 6 year old through one of the haunted houses and her 4 other cousins around the same age. As we were coming out of it everyone of the girls except one was crying. We made such a scene! It was funny. Ill bet the other children in line were having second thoughts about going in there. I made my daughter go through the other one but her cousins refused. Im a mean dad. jk I prep'd her for the second one. I told her that they were just kids with makeup on and they could not touch her. Then explained how its there job to try and scare her. If she acts like shes not scared they will leave her alone. She was a hoot to watch. Trying her best to act normal. I was laughing because the kids in there werent buying it. They kept bugging her until I had to put myself between them and her. She didnt cry though.

I went to the store last night and couldnt lift a case of coke. Talk about feeling less of a person. It sucks when you cant do something simple like that. I will survive! Laying around doesnt seem to help it. I didnt notice my little piggy toe so it ended up being a good run. I ran from my house to the meeting place and ran with the BBK group. We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the dark. I made it 8 miles total.

| Wow, what a busy day of walking! Ill bet I walked close to 5 or 6 miles today. Our flight got in early this morning. We grabbed a rental car and went to stay with our friends here in Stoneham, Mass. They let us sleep in until 10:30 which was really 8:30 our time so we only got 7 hours of sleep. We went and had some Boston Pizza at a name I forget now but it was very thin crusted and lots of grease. I guess im used to our thick crust absorbing the grease for me. lol We explored downtown Boston and then went to Fanueil Hall. We ate at a Mexican restaraunt and then went to see the Dark Knight on the IMAX screen by the Aquarium. Oh we did some major shopping and I ran into none other than Bill Rodgers. I didnt even know who he was until I saw the pictures in the running center of him. He and I had a nice 10 min. talk and I could see how passionate he was in running. I think from me talking to him he could tell the excitement of my running also. He gave me his card and invited me to come to his running store the day after the Boston Marathon next year and they will have some Russian, and European Olympic runners there for a meet and greet and then a party. I told him about the Blog here but didnt have a card so Ill have to get him one when I go next year. I told him how Sasha had this blog and thats how he invited me to meet his Russian runners. So Ill have to see if Sasha is running next year. Wow, its good to meet people like that! What amazing talent they have and all. We are now safely back in Stoneham and Im having a blast! |

We went through the House of Seven Gables, walked around town and shopped some more. We had alot of fun. My daughters sprayed there hair up in different bright colors and had a blast! Im to my official heaviest weight of my life. I took my bandages off and there is a significant amount of bruiesing and bleeding. I will go check on my work and then take some pain pills. Here is a photo in Salem Massachusetts with Samantha on Bewitched. So I called off work and sent everyone home including myself. I had a horrible nights sleep last night and would relate it closely to any Jeff Bridges movie. I was extremely paranoid and felt like someone was out to get me. I havnt taken any pills today and am coming off of the effects they have. NOT GOOD! My life is so boring I wish I could tell everyone I ran this many miles or that many miles but it would be a lie. Sorry for letting you down. I try to pump my friends spirits up and likewise. Ive finally been able to get up and drive around today and went and picked up my desktop from the ripoff place that screwed me over royaly on my laptop and now wants me to pay 450 more dollars to fix my desktop that was supposedly warrateed by them. Wrongo! I will never buy from them ever and would suggest anyone who is looking for a deal not deal with them at all! I dont know if I put there name on here if I would get into trouble so Ill tell you "because we love you!" Is not a great slogan for them to have. They know if they have to come up with a 100 dollar loss they wont deal with you, but if they can screw you out of 450 then its fine. Im fed up. So I have a desktop with Im assuming a blown hard drive or mother board or whatever you call it and no where to go. If anyone out there has parts to fit this POS then let me know. Im not in the mood for anymore crap to go wrong with my life at this point. With that said, I will now go lay down and get my blood pressure down. lol
The days of doing this are gone for several months now! Oh well.
On a sadder note, I found out that my neighbor passed away at a very young age of 28 on my street here in SJ! Her name is Brooke Jarret and her obituary is in the Des news or tribune. Very sad! She had a very good life! Knew alot of people. www.legacy.com/deseretnews/obituaries.asp?Page=LifeStory&PersonID=119726129
I know that the personal pain she was going through is over for her but yet it sadens me at how young she was. Her Dad is a great man! In fact, he is an O.B. and came into my room before I got my surgery to talk me. Very nice of him to do that. Then He made my bishop aware of my surgery and they were there at my house the night I was home from the hospital. It is a short time for us to do things here on earth and death seams to always humble me.

We did it, We did it in style and it wasnt pretty, but we got it done, and they will now fall out of the ranks and the utes will go undefeated and it just makes that blue and red game in a couple of saturdays that much better. By the way I will go even if i still cant stand! I rested the majority of Sat. and all day Sunday. I did make it to church and so I have a walk from my truck to inside. 1 hour of church and a walk back to my truck. Then collasped on my bed for the rest of Sunday. I did watch Kill Bill 1 and 2! Kungfublonde and Montelepsy eat your hearts out!? Go Utes! 48-24 over BYU! Utah is ranked #7 going into yesterdays game. Byu was 14th. It was a hard fought game and didnt look good there because every time Utah got a good lead, Byu came back! It was a war even before the game started. It looked like they were going to brawl and of corse that is what the fans wanted. BYU had Utah on their heels in the 3rd quarter and Utah came back to annililate them in the 4th. Thank goodness for the Utes defense. that puts our utes with a record of 12-0! That could very well put them into the top 6 in the BCS polls. Thanks to a butt kicking that #2 Texas Tech got yesterday. Either way the utes are going to a major Bowl game this year! www.ksl.com/?=294&sid=4876128&autostart=y |

Her husband and I work together so it was easy to talk about how hard of times we are having. Lots of things have happened to her since ive been out. Shes been to Toronto for knee problems and IT band issues. I feel bad for her because she is going in reverse with her times right now. My Garmin 305 quit working entirely also. Go figure. My spa membership expired and I think I know when Im going to expire because my birth cirtificate has an expiration date on it. lol (just kindding, thats my favorite line from Steven Wright) All in all it was a good day to put some miles back on my shoes. I will take a few days off and try it again. Im afraid to put more than 10 miles a week in for the next month. Carry on my people!

| Well I woke up sick still but had committed to run with Danielle this morning on the park trail at 9800 s. I started out feeling like a slug. Then after 2 miles my legs started feeling tight and then at mile 4 I felt like quitting but didnt. We went North at the start to see how far the trail has progressed. We made it about 3/4 of a mile which is nice. It used to stop right there off of 98th. Now its close to 9200 so. We then turned around and ran all the way to 115th s. where the trail ends there also. Then came back to 98th. It was a total of 6.3 miles but felt ok. I had a bit of pain but not enough to worry that im hurting myself. It was brutal cold on that trail! It felt like it was in the teens. Cheers all! |

Had the family party last night at my house and had a huge sleep over. I got to bed at 1 last night knowing I had to sleep because I was running at 6 am this morning. I met Danielle, Bill, Misty and Charity at the park trail on 126th and ran south for 4 miles. Ive never run that direction before. It was really nice and the wind didnt affect me as much because its down in the gully more. I had fun running at an extremely slow pace that really wasnt that hard to pace. Our average was 10 min mile pace but we walked for about 2 minutes at the start and we stopped to take our layers off which took a few more minutes and then on the way back grabbed our clothes and had a good conversation. Very fun. Im glad im back. My legs were sore after 6 miles but Im just glad to be able to run right now. I heard a song in the car ride over that said "Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavement." I will dub that my song from now on! Im going to look up the author right after I log this. Very true! Cheers all and if your so inclined, look at my fridays blog for kicks. If you look at burts week, he has me looking like Gilligan, but in my pride I have to say Nicholas cage is a better suit. lol

I ran at 9800 so parktrail this morning at 6 am with Danielle. First 2 miles were ok and then it snowed into our faces We made it to the turn around and then came back and it got alot better. Our conversation was depressing from all the layoffs going on around here. I had a bunch of equipment stolen on a job site over the weekend, around $20,000 dollars worth and found that my insurance will help out with about 3,000 to reimburse. God bless our insurance companies! NOT! Im so sick of spending close to 2,000 dollars a month for something I must pay for and then get the shaft like this! In Six months I could put that money into my company and make up for my loss. That is depressing. Back to running--I was happy to run even in the most extreme situations. I cant wait till im back to full strength. I was amazed at the end of our run of how flexible Danielle was. I think my new years resolution will be to have more flexibility.

| Was going to go try 3 this morning but the alarm didnt wake me. I can usually wake up without the alarm but not this morning. I was out of it! Then I saw the temps outside and was not even ashamed of my mishap. |

Got up to daybreak to run with Danielle. We immediately got hit by a snow storm. We started running away from the snow and had to run into it for 4 of the miles. It luckily let up a bit but was in our faces! At mile 2 we were rushed by two dogs that werent on a leash and it was a big scare. I froze and they hit Danielle and it was pretty scary. The owners of the dogs were running also and they were big boxer dogs and didnt even respond to their owners. It made me mad but not as mad as Danielle. She was yelling at the owner to take responsibility and keep them on a leash. I think it woke us up for sure! I just not a dog person. I like them but could never own one. Our soggy run ended up running 7+ miles.
Heres a picture out my front window of the white stuff I only like to see in the mountains, not on my streets!

| I helped my brother prep his house for paint yesterday and I think I did too much! I woke up this morning at 5:15 and was planning on running with Scott and Kelli and when I stood up I was in alot of pain. I stewed it over because I didnt want to be a flake so I decided to take it easy. Sorry for standing you guys up. ;) I dont know why I do these things in a time where I cant afford to help family out. But oh well, life goes on. |

| Its begining to look alot like Christmas! Everywhere I run! So I went to the start of the park trail at 123rd and ran south 4 miles and there were alot of deer crossing in front of us. I ran with Danielle and Misty and Charity ran together. The snow was about 2-4 inches thick and the bridges were about 8-10 inches thick. It wasnt too bad until mile 3.5 on when we got cilose to Bluffdale we had to post hole run, when you sink and lift. Wow what a workout that was. My legs are thrashed. With a quarter mile to go I left Danielle and tried to run a solid 6 min mile pace or so and it hurt like h e double hockey sticks! Theres no speed workouts planned for me for a while. Ran 8 miles total. Saw alot of wildlife, and Snowmobile and atv tracks. My feet are soaking wet, Ironically im going to go take a shower. See ya

| I went to the parktrail and ran 6.1 with Danielle. It was very crappy conditions, not snowing but crusty snow that was thick in places and hard to run. My calves are sore! |

| Went to 9800 so. and the parktrail to see if they had cleared the trail off. no chance so I ran with Danielle up 98th to 3200 w. then over to 114th so and back. There really wasnt anywhere to run besides in the road so we dodged vehicles the entire run. Made it 8.25 miles and it was wet, cold and I just hate snow! |

Woke up this freezing cold morning and went up to Daybreak and ran 6 miles in 27 degree weather with Danielle. Very icy and slick! I think the snow plows have given up on plowing the neighborhood roads. Some main roads were even horrid! Good run, and I felt ok. I cant wait to get back my speed, whats left of it. ;)
While we were running this morning, we were on 40th west and about 108th by the new temple going south and this car veered into us and I had to grab Danielle and pull her towards the side of the road. I was embarrased at over reacting and angry at the stupid driver for being so stupid. Ive been hit by a car twice in my life and its not fun. I dont suggest it to anyone.
