I swam 1900 yards this morning and then ran 5 miles. 3 on the indoor track and 2 on the treadmill at 11mph. Then I ran 6 more miles at 5 pm around south jordan area up by the new Daybreak temple and the new lake they put in above my house.  Yes thats right its up above my house.  I was in a no flood zone. As soon as a speck of water floods my neighborhood, then Ill consider moving north (Logan) or south (St. George) But there has to be a lake nearby! Im not making sense, I need to stretch and hydrate.

I ran 3.29 easy miles at a 7:15 pace and then did a Stake 5k that our church put on.  I took first place for 3.42 miles at a 5:24 pace. My finish time was 18:27.  Its been a while since ive won a race!  Im counting this as a good speed workout and I got a doughnut for my effort! Sweet!  I hold the course record by the way so if any of you courageous runners faster than me want to try next year,  get a hold of my bishop.  He'll send a couple of our "friends" over to talk to you!

ran 5 easy miles this morning to try to get my IT band to loosen up. It felt ok after 2-3 miles.

ran 1 easy mile on the track tonight and did 4x400 at a 1:20 pace. I didnt want to hurt my leg so I didnt push the pace. Then I waited 6 minutes and ran 2x800 at a 2:31 and a 2:28.  I cooled down 1.5 miles and stretched the crap out of my legs. By the way, that track I ran on tonight seemed small after being on the oval track for so long.

I swam 1 mile without stopping. It was very hard but I pushed myself and did it. then I did a 300 yard swim after that.  Then I ran 2 miles very slow because my IT band will not give up!  I am in some serious trouble here!  Im going to take lots of Ibuprophen today and stretch. Thats all I got to say about that!

Ok I ran 7.5 easy slow miles in 52:18 I think thats about a 7 minute mile.  The back of my knee has a dull ache in it so Im going to ice it and take more ibuprophen.

This morning I swam 4x200 yards, 1x350, 1x250 and then finished off with a 200 yards.

I poured 6 yards of concrete on a porch cap on a house just up emigration canyon and saw christina running!  Shes on this blog by the way. Very funny. I was very envious of her. I would much rather be running up that canyon then pouring concrete!   After that I poured a foundation in herriman 46 yards and then came home laced up my shoes and my wife made me edge the lawn before I ran so I told her yes mam!

I ran 11.25 miles in 1:16 minutes My stupid garmin 305 watch is broken and it wont pick up a satelite signal. I had to pull the new garmin 405 out of the box that im giving my wife for mothers day and use it. Dont anyone tell her ok! She wont read this so im safe! Its an awesome watch. I put it back in the package and she wont even know!   I may have to fight her for it!

I ran this morning starting out at 5:40 am. I reloaded the software on my garmin watch and its working now exept its not registering my miles right.  It was working fine while I was running and when I tried loading it to the computer something happened and it wont tell me my times at all. weird!  I ran a total of 15.5 and it was good to see all the people out running this morning!  My legs are still in denial from Boston so im going to do some serious sodium intake this week and try to get them stretched out as much as I can.

Went to try a wetsuit for triathlons this morning at the pool and it felt good. swam 800 yards.

Poured 15 yards of flatwork and then moved my equipment from downtown slc to clearfield. I may have to use this as a easy miles day.

Diesel:   $4.49 a gallon!  spent 350 on gas today.

Ok first of all I wanted to thank Logan and his Wife for putting on a great Pasta party!  Its good to put some faces to the names on this blog.  After the party I was driving home to south jordan and my truck broke down and I had to have it towed! the tow truck showed up at 10:30 and my wife showed up at 11 pm.  I raced home and got my stuff together and turned the lights off and the alarm went off.   Hey, Im just telling you how it was!  We got up to the race and I made a game plan to run with Cody.  I have to say his running has really improved since Striders!  Thanks Cody and Ben if you read this for keeping me at a safe pace.  I probably would have tried to push it and stick with Jeff and Chad and I know I would have bombed out because my legs are still not 100% better from Boston.   I felt really good at mile 18 but not as good as Cody.  He put on the gas and gained 200 yards in no time on Ben and myself.  I was still not sure as to try to go after him so I just stuck it out with Ben and he seamed to be struggling and by the 19th mile we were back running together.  At mile 22 Ben got excited and took off with a great pace, I was surprised at it.  Kory wheatly then passed me and really stayed just ahead of me and cody.  I had nothing left and I just tried to not stop, but at 25 I had to try and catch my breath and cody passed me.  I stayed close behind him until the last couple of blocks and he picked up the pace really good.  So I just worked on keeping myself from being passed by anyone else.  I was very light headed at the finish but my legs were way better this race than at Boston.  I will give my body a break next week and do some cross training and then concentrate on building my miles up to 90+ a week.  This race was extremely difficult to run in due to the blistering heat.  My shoulders are fried!  It was good to see everyone at the start and finish and I must say we make a huge presence when we are in the blog/running company atire!

Ok I have to get some bike miles in before the 7th of June so I got my bike out and put in 19 miles.  It felt really good despite the pain from the marathon.

Got to run a nice trail run with Cody and Jon this morning. Jon didnt know I was coming up till Cody and I picked him up from his house.  We ran some steep trails and ran into some cows and dead dear and a freak bull that wouldnt move out of the way.  Luckily Cody was the only one wearing red so we ran the opposite direction he did.  Just kidding Cody, all in all it was fun and I marked this as  my first Trail run of the year. we did a total of 13 miles.

Ran this morning at 6:30 with Cody and Jon.  We ran the Bonneville Shoreline trail from 1st Dam up logan canyon to Green Canyon to the top of the parking area 6.5 miles and back. Was really good conditions considering the light drizzle and overcast.  Thats my second trail run this year believe it or not. It was very challenging.  The  back of my right knee feels horrible but im not giving up running.  If it gets worse then ill back off but it seems that while im running up steep inclines it gives me a jolt of pain but while im on the down and flat its ok.  So its probably my IT band for sure.

I ran up millcreek canyon this afternoon and after a few miles found myself alone.  It was very peacefull and I could only hear the water.  After about mile three up there I saw someones shoe and it was recent!  It wasnt old or anything. It made me very nervous and I looked around for blood or drag marks and couldnt see anything so I kept running. I got into some thick snow and it was about 9" deep but I kept running to the top of the turn around.  It was a very pleasant run and if there were more people on the trail I would have gone further.
