| | pm--7 Progressive run w/ last 3.5 @ ~7:40. Nothing killer, but better than moderate for a guy in his 40th year.

| | pm--8 Anasazi from the cemetery w/ a little extension beyond the homestead. Started heavy and weak; ended light and strong.
On another note, I'm not sure I'm ready for the 70-degree weather before Valentine's Day. The warmth today gave the skin a slight buzz. RHR--49

| | am--9.25 Figure-8 Barrel Roll w/ Sidewinder extension. I hit the Sidewinder climb out of the figure-8, so that makes for ~500 ft. of climbing in about 1.5 miles. It was a gutcheck for me at the end of things. Nice run though. Even the mornings are Springy now, mid-February. I'll enjoy it while we have it. RHR--55.

pm--5.25 Some double miles. I was expecting a few more miles this morning, so that left me craving a run later. On another note, started some chile seeds this evening.

| | pm--6 D. K. Leavitt Morning Route, in the evening. Had another coyote sighting closer to home (near SCMS). He crossed about 50 feet in front of me and stopped on the other side of the road. I yelped, and he looked and moved a bit. As I kept on running, he continued to glance across the street, seemed to be looking for a buddy. I nearly got my run-with-a-coyote-on-Presidents'-Day dream.
The weather was beautiful as well. If 70 degrees in the afternoon is tempting, then 66 degrees after sundown beckons with a serpentine index finger. The evening was made even more perfect with the accompaniment of one of the most beautiful albums ever, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.

| | pm--6 Decent miles. I noticed that I'm more sluggish and tend to delay my runs on days when I've had too many treats. We'll see how I might remedy that. RHR--55.

| | pm--9 Up past the new Harmons. Having a store on that part of the Heights changes the flow of traffic in that area. A runner has to be vigilant now. The busy road and dinner still clinging to the guts made the run slightly less than heavenly, but only slightly. When I got home, one of my daughters said, "You look like you worked hard." Not sure what that means. Compliment because I worked hard? Or insult because a 9-miler makes me look like death?

| | am--5 Truncated Morning Route. Another coyote sighting this morning, about 20 yards in front of me. I called to it but to no avail. Those dogs--or maybe it's the same one every time--love the jog from SCHS to the gulley. RHR--53.
