* = These 5 races were run at 67.9 seconds per pound. If I want a PR, I need to weigh less than 170 pounds. Short-Term Running Goals: 2024 GOALS:
to not get fat Long-Term Running Goals: Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states. Personal: I'm married, with two sons, 18, and 19.
I started running because someone dared me to.
I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

So I have this situation.- Maybe someone on this Utah-centric blog can help me out with this. We have been planning another family snowboard trip to Park City for a long time. We fly out 3/15. We fly back 3/21 (We land back in Tampa at midnight!). Since we planned the trip, my youngest (John) has done very well in performing a musical piece on a 4 valve Euphonium. Specifically this one:
https://youtu.be/wRUETWKxLT4
He has done so well that he was invited to compete in the state competition in Fort Pierce (other side of the state) on 3/22. That's right, we land at midnight 3/21, drive home to Venice by 2 am-ish, then load him on a bus to Fort Pierce on 3/22 at 7 in the morning. This is a big deal for a freshman. I'm proud of my boy for choosing such a difficult piece, and doing so well. But I look ahead to state's, and he's going to do this coming off a week with no practice? Not a recipe for success.
We have looked at all of the options for flying out and back with a Euphonium, and those are all pretty much out because we can not keep the horn safe loading on the plane. This leaves us with a short term rental for the horn while we are there.
So, does anyone have access to a horn, or a location I can have my son play a horn, for an hour a day from 3/15 to 3/21, within a reasonable distance from Park City? Or advice for what to do?

| 4 on the trails. I spent a lot of time talking to the shirtless tire dragger. My mind is really far from running this week. I am so stoked about snowboarding next week,I am having trouble thinking of anything else. |

| 4 on the trails. Everything is covered in pollen around here at this time of year. I have a pain in the neck from sleeping on the plane(s). 80 degrees. 54% hum.?! 64 d.p.?!
What a week. Everything went smoothly for our park city snowboarding trip. Day of travel. 5 days of bombing the mountain. Day of travel. My sons became pretty decent at getting down the mountain safely, in various weather / snow conditions. We even got snow fall on some of the days. I had a great time with my brother. Wow do I miss that dude. Everything went great with the horn rental, and Johnny practiced daily. I don't have a lot of non-snowboard related stories from this trip. There was no sight seeing- we were really just there to get down the mountain as many times as possible, and I think we did well. The only downside was the travel home. Our Monday flights were cancelled on Sunday afternoon. Spouse did an extensive amount of work to get us home Monday. Left Salt Lake City at noon. To Denver, Milwaukee, and then to Fort Myers (not Tampa) at 10:45 pm. (This, I'm sure, represents the largest amount of time I have spent wearing a mask.) Slept a lot on the plane, but I am still messed up time wise.
