* = These 5 races were run at 67.9 seconds per pound. If I want a PR, I need to weigh less than 170 pounds. Short-Term Running Goals: 2024 GOALS:
to not get fat Long-Term Running Goals: Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states. Personal: I'm married, with two sons, 18, and 19.
I started running because someone dared me to.
I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

| 4 on the trails. perfect weather, minimal coughing. I feel like after a month, I'm finally coming out of this mess. I'd like to thank everyone in the local medical community that did exactly jack squat to fix my situation. If it's not covid, they ain't interested.
In other news, I got a sweet $100 gift card to fit2run from a relative for Christmas. So I ran today in some old Saucony rides. Am I the only guy in the world that likes Rides more than Kinvaras? The original Hokas were excellent for a heel striker like me. And even though they were expensive, you could run in those things for like 1,000 miles. The newer Hokas seem to go flat much sooner. So I think I'm going to go in a non-hoka direction this time around. I'll keep going through old shoes for a while.

| 4 on the trails. The weatherman says it was 47 degrees when I started but I don't believe it. No coughing. Not many folks on the trails. Good running, but I really needed to think some things out, parenting-wise. So it was great for that.
9:02 PM. Rocket launch at Cape Canaveral across the state. We could see it from here. It was a clear night.

Since Meatloaf died, I was thinking about Paradise By The Dashboard Light. It is definitely one of those songs that goes on way too long. After about a minute of it, I think "Okay that's enough." I feel the same way about Piano Man and The Day The Music Died, and maybe a little to Knockin' On Heaven's Door.

| 7.5 miles hood route. Longest run since November. It was slow but smooth. 50 degrees, and misty. Everything was wet, even though there was no rain. Stone Temple Pilot's Big Bang Baby was stuck in my head.

| 4 on the trails. 43 degrees. That's see your breath weather! So I wore a ski cap (Or Touque, for my Canadian friends). After 2 miles, I was sweating out of the thing, and I felt silly about it. But I also really hate having cold ears.

| 4 more on the trails. kind of overcast. I'm going to a service for this guy tonight Michael Raymond Giampino Obituary - Daily Record.
He was a good guy and a local runner that I used to compete against in several races. We weren't good friends or anything. But I have talked to him after many races. My mom probably talked to him more than me, due to his involvment with their church. At least once this happened; she told him on a Sunday, that I was bummed out that he beat me in a race Saturday.
