38:28 AP 9:37 6:15am It was barely sprinkling rain. It was beautiful outside. Love this weather. Super busy day so this is all the running I got in. Had to go with my first grader to school and do discovery day. I taught the kids about music. We lead music with pixie stix and I taught them some fun songs. Then made a football b-day cake for her b-day party cause that's what she wanted. Went to classic skate to do bounce and jungle zone with 10 first graders, a preschooler and my 2 yr old. Now I remember why we don't have big friend parties every year:) Came home and had to decorate the kitchen and wrap family presents for her actual birthday tomorrow! BK Power Yoga-52 minutes

1.5 mile fast walk with Lysa and Josie in this awesome weather. Jillian Michaels Banish Fat/Boost Metabolism dvd -50 minutes 1.5 mile fast walk with Josie tonight. She thought it was fun to be out at night. We don't usually do that. Happy Birthday to my 7yr old today!

57:15 AP 9:33 Left about 6:30 and my legs felt tired and sore from cross training this week. After mile 1 I was warmed up and after the big hill I tried to speed it up. Last mile was flat. I wore capris and long sleeves and I was HOT! It was windy too. One minute, a head wind. Next minute, tail wind. Sometimes nothing. Love running outside. It's so beautiful and green and the view of the city I had coming down was awesome!
9:33, 9:47, 10:16, 9:19, 9:15, 9:07 BK Power Yoga-52 minutes. I'm getting more flexible.
My niece and sister are injured and can't run the AF half as they planned. I am a HUGE believer in cross training to prevent injury. I know it helps. Especially core strengthening xt. And rest days. I better remind my other sister of this so I'm not running this half marathon alone. I listened to some One Direction cause my 7th grader wanted me to buy it. I put some on my ipod. Kind of an insult to Coldplay to have that boy band on the same playlist. Actually some of the songs are fun and pretty good but some are not good. "Shot me out of the sky. You're my Kryptonite!" aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Congrats on your 7 miler! Beautiful morning! I LOVE being outside. I'm so grateful to be able to run and live in such a beautiful place. I'm so blessed. My thoughts today to those reading... think positive and LET IT GO! Just let go of whatever you're holding on to. Stop feeling any guilt about anything. YOU are an amazing person! 56:37 AP 9:26 First mile warm-up alone. Second mile with Lysa and Erin! So fun to see them. Ran up Newcastle with them. 3rd mile alone again, up the rest of the hill and came down home. Ran home fast. 9:56,11:04, 9:40,8:47,8:44,8:24 (mostly flat). Is that sort of progression run? I don't know exactly what I'm doing (goal wise) and I need to figure it out. Jackie Warner Upper body and abs workout. 30 minutes So happy Rachel and Dave won the Amazing Race! They deserved it. I love that show.

| | 1:20:34 AP 10:05 Ran with Ashley. Left at 5:45am. My legs felt tired and my feet sore. would have had a 10 min pace or less if we hadn't finished up a steep switch back path. I usually finish below around the park and walk up it but we needed to get home quick. oh well. SOOOOOO excited for the weekend!!!

| | 7:30am run in St George with Jeff. We stayed at Las Palmas. We saw three cute little bunnies when we first left. There were beautiful flowers around too. It was already pretty hot in the sun with tank top and shorts. We ran on a trail going out but coming back was cooler. We ran around some homes and saw the golf course. We ran past the cottages where there were trees with lots of shade. The honeysuckle is in bloom down there and it smelled amazing! It's been a while since I ran with Jeff. It was nice. |

51:59 AP 10 The base of my left pinky toe is purple cause I kicked the table leg last night. It hurt a little while running this morn. Hopefully it's nothing. Ugh. It's always hard to get up on a Monday morn after vacation but I did. Felt slow and sluggish after eating too much crap this weekend (but we had a blast)! I ran around both parks twice. Lots of hills. I wore my Ogden marathon shirt and shorts. I loved that marathon experience. Beautiful weather this morning. Can't decide if I should run another marathon or concentrate on yard work. My back yard is a disaster! Yard work for like 3 hours or something. Lawn mowing, etc. It's the etc that's kill'in me. Josie played with the neighbors grand kids in the sprinklers. She's part of the reason I haven't done yard work for so long but now she's older it might get easier. Going back out now that Josie's in bed.

| | 58:48 AP 9:48 Woo! shorts and short sleeves! It's hot! I went for the torture run up Falcon Way. So 3 up and 3 down basically. That way the sun is at my back at least. Awesome weather really. not too hot between 6:30-7:30. Fun May weather. My 2 yr old played in the sprinklers basically all day yesterday. With friends in the morn and sisters in the pm.
I drove my car to get fixed and walked about 1.3 miles home. Guess I'll walk back when it's ready. Unless Lysa will run me down:) BK Power Yoga-52 minutes

| | 1:30:10 AP 10:01 Up at 5:45 and ran with Ashley. Needed to get the long run in today. It was perfect weather!!! 30 minutes plus of upper body (weights) and ab workout. I did it while watching disney so my daughter would be entertained. I did a minute of each which felt longer than what Jackie does. Ouch! So one minute on each set of 3 and then back again for 30 sec on each. 3 sets of 3 different upper body and then 3 sets of 3 different ab exercises. Now to lunch with the sisters!

I went alone, without music. Perfect weather. I just love getting outside in the morning. It was a slow, tough run. I felt pretty crappy the entire run. BUT I'm still grateful I got up and ran 6 miles outside! I saw Lysa and Erin at the top of Newcastle and that was awesome!

| | I'm having issues with my left foot and right hamstring so I rested today. I did mow the lawn and sweep my entire driveway which is like upper body/core workout. There's three different kinds of crap all over it from the giant tree in my front yard.
So I'm saying I cross trained today.

6:30am run with Ashley. I wore a hat and wind breaker thinking for sure it would rain on us at some point but it never did! Perfect weather this morning. Not too hot, not too cold and no sun! Great conversation! AND Ashley said she would actually consider running a marathon someday which I'm so excited about! I didn't think she would ever do it but to hear her talk about it gives me hope. So much better to have someone to train, travel and "run" a marathon with. Cross training= yard work today! I'm sore.

| | 58:25 AP 9:44 Ashley needed to run 5 but I needed to run 6 so she ran an extra mile with me. My hamstrings felt tight this whole run. Different route but same old running up and up east and then coming down home and last mile on flat. I sped up the last mile and she stayed with me the whole time. I really sped up the last 1/4 mile and she stayed with me. She's awesome! No yoga today though since it's a holiday and kids are home. I'm painting address numbers on curbs today with my brighton cheerleader! Cemetery visiting and bbq tonight with family! Happy memorial day!

Beautiful morning! Ran a mile around here and then up newcastle and over to Debeers which turns into Willow Hills. Over past Albion and up Newcastle and up and up. down past water tower and over to buffalo. Down alta canyon and up highland. My lower butt feels SO tight still. The tightness spread down my right hamstring during the run. This happened on Thurs and Sat. too. What is up? Gotta do more yoga I guess. Oh. I was obsessed with checking out people's curb house numbers this morning cause I painted curbs for my daughter's fundraiser yesterday for like 3 hours. I think we did a pretty crappy job. Sorry people.We're not professionals.

Maybe I'll go later this evening. I think the root of my butt/hamstring problem is my psoas. It's feeling better with yoga and cross training.

Ran alone and tried to run fast. I need to do yoga and lengthen my psoas. I tried to lengthen my stride and it seemed to help. Still tight on the right side (lower butt and hamstring) Worse going up hill and loosens when I run down. Last mile was 8:44 mostly flat. BK Power Yoga-52 minutes -Heaven on earth My sister sent me this article saying she has this problem. I think my issues are also related to the psoas, but not as severe as hers.
