I used the Salt Lake City Half Marathon as a training run. I did bandit the race and I did not feel bad about it. This course goes through places I train everyday, so it was nice to know the terrain. My goal for the race was to have a better time than last year. Previous time was: 1:38 something.
I started off and my legs felt knotty, heavy, and sore. I felt like my body was extremely tired. Ran, ran, and ran some more. My favorite part of the course was downtown Sugar House. My least favorite part was going up State Street. Pure DEATH march. I had a lot of fun pacing off other runners during the race. I finished within seconds of my last year's time. This frustrated me a bit do to the fact I have been running much more than I was last year. I had come off a recent injury last year, and this year I had no excuses. It's time to make a plan to get out of my 3:20 marathon times and 1:30 half marathon times. I have been on a plateau for about two years now.
