Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced!

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

As a youngster

County Champion for Xcountry and

High Jump

and 1500ms track.

pbs aged 13 yrs old

800ms 2mins 16secs

1500ms 4mins 48 secs

high jump 1metre 53  (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!

Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin.

Top 50 finnisher at 14yrs of age in english nationals Xcountry.

Nasty weather huh!  cold 0C and it was supposed to be rained this afternoon when I ran but didnt really a bit of spitting and that was it thankfully.

Not a shorts day, as it was long run, and sometimes I get cold on long runs so gloves, long tights two tops one long sleeve one short, and my head band with ear covers.

I also had to carry my rucksack myself, as its a weekday and I usually run my longer runs with Paul carrying it so I found it harder with this, my shoulders ache tonight ouch.

16.1 miles 2hrs 12 mins  8.11 min average.

I ran out fishermans path straight to the beach and then all the way down the beach to Southport Pier this is a hard run as it goes inbetween the beach and the sanddunes their is a path that is very sandy in places and also grassy boggy, muddy slippy and just darn hard going for over 6 miles then its sand again so pretty much 7.5 miles of beach sand mud boggy mud and sand and beach.... the rest of the run is on road, two decent hills in it, the main roads back through southport.  I havent done this long run for 2 years, and forgot how hard it is, (as I usally run with Paul on his bike and he wouldnt have been able to cycle those 7.5miles at all).

All in all it was a good run, my legs felt pretty heavy and sore and tight from Saturday, but I would just stop and stretch if it got too bad.

Xtrainer level 6 10 mins

3 mins skipping none stop very tiring on my arms mainly I used to do 20 mins 3 times a week its gonna be hard getting back to that I think Im going to aim for twice a week with my steps ups too!

6.8 miles easy if you can call sandy hills sandy trails, and sandy sandy's LOL then 2 miles road home.

2.8 miles home actually, and I think my garmin went mad, I did pick the pace up as usual on the road, its just the effort I put in on the hills etc, then you hit the road and your flying so its hard to back off, when Im feeling good, which I was today, and the music was great...... now back to the mad garmin I shall download later to see if it makes sense but I looked at the watch and it said 5.30 pace ouch if its true I maybe sore tomorrow :-/

Oh and those xmas tree men phhhhhhtttt my space mine yes its MINE ha ha ha and returning to the gym about 20 young girls from a high school had overtook the gym again thankgoodness for the phone call he he

I got back the gym ready to do xtrainer and step ups, but I had to go home after a phone call about the fact they have two colours of kitchen top on the order form, 1 white and 1 black well come on people I had chosen a white colour but I had to go to the shop to check which white colour LOL

Oh well Happy Days.  :-)

6°C | °F

Current: Cloudy
Wind: NW at 14 mph
Humidity: 81%

Quite warm although the wind chill was -1C  cold brrr but I still went outside.....

okay as usual Sandy trails, sandy hills, sandy roads he he, I hit the beach too it was completley empty no surprise as it was a NW wind of at least 14mph, against me hard work.

pretty much 5 miles off road then last 2.5 miles on road.

I had a phone call with 2 miles to go, need to be home to pay kitchen fitters by 3.00pm, I had 15 mins to get my butt home omg, easy run gone out the window. heres the splits;

8.00 8.30 windy trails 8.30 same old windy 9.16 sand dunes onto the beach and beach

8.57 windy

7.54 mile mile 6 cranking it up last half

6.22 mile 7 although fastest pace was 5.35  I was flying at this point I looked behind me to cross the road to see if it was safe to cross over and hit my shoulder on a lamp post OUCH double OUCH, I kept running but omg its sore now.....  I kept running

It was real busy this is the route I run through part of the end of the local village, I stopped the traffic twice, just putting my hand up and giving the thumbs up it felt goooooood :-)     just after hitting my shoulder My husband drove past, I tried to raise my arm I was like ouch and keeping the pace up :-O

3.14 to 7.54 mile again fastest pace 5.32 average 5.58 pace.

Ok I literally hit the entrance of the gym and it was like run in get keys go sort out the kitchen guys, all sweaty lol.

I had to go back the gym to get my stuff and see my physio..... twice I got my car space back today yay.... and I spoke to the xmas tree guys, they were like you train hard? and asked what times I do, one guy nearly fell over he was like omg thats really fast.... I said thankyou and I really like this car space they laughed. :-)  fingers crossed I get it tomorrow.

Oh and yes I checked the garmin it worked in the end. my pace was 5.30 yesterday too. I hope Im recovered for tomorrows session and I havnet risked it too much.

oh and the kitchen isnt finnished tops still need to go on cooker hob, tv still needs sorting, and floor preperation still needs doing, oh I still havent got a wash machine or my dishwasher, or sink, just the cooker is working so I christened it with some lovely Cumberland sausages..... gotta have my sausage baps :-)

Okay it didnt rain, and hardly a breeze so all good, crispy cool and the sun was out.

2.8 miles warm up off road, trails with sand and lots of mud yay

short rest stretching approx 3mins  I was rareing to go, but still remembering that the last 2 days were not easy runs, although not session but still my legs will be heavy :-(

  • mile 1 5.51 mins
  • mile 2 5.53
  • mile 3 5.55
  •  Okay I had 3 mins recovery either jogging or jogging and stretching my legs felt tight, my calves were ok at the time but now they're really sore. Hammy tight and sore.

It has been a long time since I have done mile reps, so I am made up with my virgin mile reps run..... I wont lie I found it incredibly hard like Chris M says

    BLOODY mile reps :-O

They are hard really hard, gut wrenching but I didnt feel like vomiting I felt tired but it was deffo the legs holding me back, so a race and no easy runs isnt great to do 1st mile reps after along lay off since my Injury in training for Berlin Marathon which was in August which is nearly 5 months ago !

I took it easy on the way back but hit the sand dunes to try gain strength from them

4.4 miles back

1st mile   10.29mins sand dunes really big ones

2nd mile   9.41mins more big sand dunes

3rd mile   7.48mins hitting the muddy trails picking the pace up

4th mile  7.34mins again picked the pace up allot on muddy trails and sandy trails

0.4           2.43mins  thats 7.27 pace on the road easing off.

Good session all in all, and got decent miles in.

No bunnies, no seagulls, and thankfully no lamp posts.......but I saw some high school kids along the muddy trails on the way back, some of them started to walk, I nearly shouted at them to get their butts going but thought best keep my mouth shut LOL.....

oh and no I did miss out on my car space some one else visiting the gym stole it naught people naughty naughty ;-)

"If your not sure you are running or jogging, you need to go faster" Pearl Izumi
"runners are wild, joggers are runners domesticated" Pearl Izumi
"Runners sometimes Jog! but joggers never RUN" Pearl Izumi

Runners (Definition)= who knows what mother nature will throw at us next? and it doesnt really matter. The point is, while the domesticated masses are taking refuge in their homes, desperately tuned into the weather station, runners will be out doing what runners always do- Running. It takes more than heat waves, gale force winds or arctic temps to keep runners at bay. They will deftly sidestep fallen tree limbs and downed power lines and gladly endure blizzards and driving rain-storms to keep their daily run intact. Citizens-at-large will generally find this shocking behaviour. EXTREME, somehow, but to runners its simply business as usual! by Pearl Izumi ADVERTISING!

Not done much today but sort out kitchen plumbers etc

play to their best at all but hey ho thats life at least they sort of had fun.

Didnt sleep much last night, not sure why just very little sleep.

I did fuel for my run, although I was supposed to do 14-16 miles today, I didnt have 2 hours to run so I went for as much as I could fit in, in 1hr 30 mins which was all I had time for due to the day being messed about, My son was asked last minute to cover for a football team in goal, although they were all a year older!  Which was nice to be asked and Dylan played really well, I didnt go watch as i needed to do my run, and be able to get back in time too.

Well what a weekend full to the brim and I am so tired, today wasnt much better either work was hectic, and I was being bothered with stuff at home too whilst working boiler packed in, we have had problems with the electric box, and sky tv :( urghhh.

Anyway the weather was really bad today windy, raining and cold

Showers yeah right, proper downfalls.... I have to admit I feel drained and look really tired, so I wimped out and opted for the sweat mill, I was aiming on 15k just over 9 miles

ended up having to pull up at about 10.5km to go to the bathroom I did try and hold on but at least it was only a few metres away !

then back to it urghhh  total 12.6km 7.8 miles, Once I had stopped I lost my concentration and couldnt get back into the rhythm.... probably about 1 mile out :(

My calves are really quite sore from the tempo style run on sunday, so the 7.8miles at 8min pace... it felt easy just having to concentrate for so long on the S/M is hard but okay:-)

approx 1hr 15mins not sure as the treadmill when stopped clears the menu ?  ahhhh.

So as for the renovations;   boiler packed in, electric box something needed updating, sky has gone on the blink.... and then the gas people have had to been called out on an emergency so I am in renovation hell at the moment but hey doesnt this make me a stronger person for coping ?  I hope so Im still smiling :-)

Ahhhhhhh too much to do in too little time..... My training time was small today and its session day! I was waiting on a phone call too and when I got the phone call I have approx 30 mins to get home urghhh!  more works on the house :-(

So I went straight onto the treadmill (sweatmill)

2 mile warm up 8 min pace - I went on the big treadmill which goes faster yay ! :-)

  1. 5.53 mins  this was tough its too hot in my gym
  2. 5.55 mins ok not too bad I was on a good pace
  3. 5.52 mins yay 2 phone calls through my iphone..... oh dear heavy breathing aint good to the sky man lol he thought it was funny but Im not jeapodising my mile rep for nobody, and I had to take the call as it was blocked and it was the call I was waiting for phhhht, 2nd call was hubby Paul "IM running huff puff"  reply "ok" that was funny too! Im such a goof ball lol ;-)

2 mile warm down 8 min pace...... and ran out the gym

I was so tired going into this training session that I wasnt sure I would get through it, but I did thankfully :-) happy I got it over with though bl**dy mile reps ;)

Piccy of my 9 mile run, just after running through a field on to some nice muddy tracks.

Nice sunny winter day, damp but not too chilly. went out to do my 9 mile run then added half a mile on to warm down.

my watch played up a bit so I ended up working out an approx time I felt good and I know up till about half way I stuck to 8 min mile pace, then I picked the pace up a bit but not too much.  The fields were muddy, and the tracks too.  1hr 15mins.

I spoke to the gym manager today, as my gym membership was a deal, my husband takes care of the car park shrubbery etc and I get a free membership.... anyway this deal was done with a previous manager, and about 2months ago my card stopped working, I left a message that I can pay or we can do the same deal as I knew the manager had changed.  Long story short I kept leaving messages and the PT's on the door just kept letting me in free of charge :-)

Anyway the manager was on the desk today and I mentioned it to him, anyway I didnt recognise him, he used to throw for my athletics club, then Liverpool Harriers, and then Great Britain, he holds loads of old records in the club, I hold one or two as well, it was really funny as we talked about the old coaches at the club some have died some are still there, it was really nice to speak to someone too that has got were I dream about competing for our country, different training mind but still very hard training.  Then it clicked I realised who he was, a bit slow there wasnt I lol.

I organised for Paul to meet him and go through with exactly what he wants etc, and I can still go in for free, only thing now is everyone knows and I dont have to explain every time I go in yay :-)

Irrelevant to todays run but I finally got time  to upload picture of my muddy xcountry legs, and the mud had dried and most of it had fallen off ha ha

Havent had the best of days, my stomach has been really bad urghhhhh tried drinking as much as possible and wasnt sure if I was up for a run never mind tempo run, as my stomach hasnt been great since last night, so I would be running on empty !

10 mins xtrainer level 6

2 miles out 8 min pace. then a 4 mile tempo run I ran along the by-pass just for the ease of continuous road, and only a few junctions to cross...... I was really lucky too and it just happened that every junction wasnt busy and I got to keep running without stopping yay :-)

Or not so great, I found it really hard today, my legs were empty and heavy but I pushed through, as I knew it wasnt injury hurt and I felt ok but tired, I pretty much know if Im pushing my luck too much.    I did feel sick when I stopped for a 2 min rest, and I puked LOL no much as there wasnt really anything to puke urghhh, then a 3.5mile warm down back to the gym average 7.45 pace.

Running down the by-pass was good, but funny, I came across workmen but they were okay, I just had to run around the barriers and through some mud and ended up jumping over some equipment It felt pretty cool at that speed he he :) I saw one of my husbands friends on his tractor, about 4 times as he was going backwards and forwards with soil to a job my hubby was working at!

10 mins xtrainer level 4 warm down, and stretch.

PUKE FEST

Oh Dear, I did an okay long run, I ate last night, we went to a friends house and I didnt have any wine...... I got up early this morning, and ate what I always eat before my long runs 3 hours before a good breakfast.

I took energy gels and water, which Paul carried with my backpack!  My aim was to just get a long slow run in, I started off great and got better till mile 10, I had stopped at about 9.5 miles for 1 min to take a gel and some water on board I am not sure what went wrong???? any suggestions please as I ate well the night before got enough sleep, ate well 3 hrs before, and took a gel   with water, 2mins later I was puking up pretty bad and it wasnt what I had eaten just water and yellow watery puke, which I have had it happen before and I know it means my stomach is empty, now It was really cold out and the water was really cold so Im not sure if it was that hitting my stomach I dont know but I Puked up every  couple of mins for 2 miles, then I had nothing left and just borked allot but kept going it wasnt nice at all.... I dont think I had hit the wall as I was able to keep a good pace still, my gel was in date ????? urghhh  I am okay now, I have had something to eat and drink and some sugary drink as I felt my sugar was low    :-)

Happy and Un-happy Bunny!

10 mins xtrainer level 6    h/r 116bmp nice as I was rather buzzing knowing I had been ok fully fuelled my self and it all stayed in....no stomach upsets and I ate some fresh mashed spuds for my mid-morning snack, just to make sure.... so I go back to I am buzzing MILE REPS, I even had the so weird rash I get when Im all a bit too excited/race mode/nervous  LOL.

so 3 mile warm up off road, trails and sand and mud and sand ;)

road, for the mile reps, with a 4 min rest Coaches orders :)

  1. 5.49 mins jog to start of next mile,   (I have set 1 mile runs in suburbia he he)
  2. 5.35 mins Nice I raced a cyclist whom was not impressed and picked the pace up somewhat so I did as I was feeling really gooooood :-)  Happy Bunny me thinks so.
  3. 5.45 mins I set off at 5.20 pace knowing this was my last rep, thought Id go for it, I'm gonna cross the railway crossing yay no trains, and I was zooming along the road not path, cyclist again but I was deffo gonna take this one as she was going really slow, and bang a dumb BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP driver pulls out of Formby Golf Club, nearly running me and the cyclist down, I had to stop, I went round the rear end of the bloody car (sorry Sasha) I slapped the rear end of the car to make them notice me, I was so not impressed they didnt retaliate omg let them retaliate I had to put the brakes on big time and I felt my hammy, but I carried on it was gonna be at least another 5.35 min mile I was ISSED I tell you.........

Formby Golf club driver I will remember you and I will mow you down in my big black huge car, I will....... NO HAPPY BUNNY HERE!  were was Burt When I needed him hey hey I tell ya LOL

Rant over, no stupid driver stupid stupid huh phhhhhht :-(

Ok 4 miles warm down mostly off road sand dunes, mud sand trails oh what fun with a sore hamstring!

Ice bath on getting home and another one just now I am shrivveled frozen person.  But it doesnt feel too bad now, I am hoping I can get my easy run done tomorrow and it will be fine. Its not a pull as I wouldnt have been able to finnish the rep off. :-)

Best I have run since August.

Now for Gossip, aparently rumours going around, due to an article in the local newspaper the local football (soccer) star Stevie Gerrard has got security around his house with big dogs, and people (he lives a few roads from us) and apparently everyone in Formby is talking about it, and the fact his wife is running around with a bodyguard now LMAO   ha ha ha apparently they saw me and my hubby running down the road last Sunday on my long run, and thought I was a WAG and Paul a body guard, and this person was saying everyone's talking about it apparently, I said omg were did you see her running etc, they said, and I replied what was she wearing they said exactly what I was wearing I was wearing my white cap yes I looked like Maddonna running thinking back with a buff around my neck so yeah I was trying to stay warm not hide my face LOL I didnt tell them I just replied with how vein having a bodyguard with you LOL ....

So glad they didnt see me puking near the middle of my run on Sunday imagine the gossipers then :-O

So Sammy is a happy bunny for her times but then a not so happy bunny for golf drivers :-)

It was still damp cold, my bones are rattling urghh, but the sun was out which  was nice.

cycle shorts, t shirt and long sleeve top over the t shirt, with a Buff neck warmer and gloves yes I feel the cold brrrrr

3°C | °F

Current: Partly Cloudy
Wind: N at 10 mph
Humidity: 70%

My car said 4C so not sure which is right but it felt cold especially with the northerly wind brrrr.

9 miles easy and I held back allot, I felt quite frisky and the hammy is okay, I could feel it in the 1st few miles and the last few, but I think it was the cold getting to my joints LOL

10 mins xtrainer level 6 warm down.

Stretch and foam ouchie roller ouchie.

And off to my physio now yay NOT its gonna hurt. :-)

Oh and I am a capricorn heres my traits LOL

Capricorn Positive Traits

Very resourceful but cautious. Tends to be very disciplined, reserved and cool under fire. Demonstrate a real ability to overcome most hardships that get in the way of pursuing ones ambition.
Practical and prudent
Ambitious and disciplined
Patient and careful
Humorous and reserved

Capricorn Negative Traits

Has a tendency to be selfish which portrays a Capricorn as being unfeeling and calculating. Because of these traits Capricorns look for ways to soften their rigid emotions and tendencies to not show sensitivity toward others.
Pessimistic and fatalistic
Miserly and grudging

Yep that bit about pursuing my ambition then being selfish yeah I agree, my running is one of the most important things in my life :-)

I had the start of a sore throat yesterday, although it was allot worse this morning, I couldnt decide whether to run or not, so took lots of pain killers, and anti-inflams, Lemsip max and the such prob drugged up the eye balls, ate something and wait and see.

The race wasnt until the afternoon, I went with my Husband Paul to look at a job as he wasnt got allot of work in at the moment .

 .

I felt ok, but a bit of a fluffy head eh! with all the drugs LOL.

I decided to run, so we set off, and the further we got into the journey the worse the weather seemed, allot of snow and -3C. The traffic was awful, so a long journey in the end.   I arrived with 20 mins to the start, ouch!  I warmed up. 1.5 miles.  I ran with long sleeves and gloves.

Not much warning at the start of the race, just off you go, and a whistle Bizaar, took me by surprise, I set off ok pace, didnt hammer it as I knew it wouldnt be a good idea feeling under the weather.

Did about as good as my last xcountry, so I was a bit annoyed but thats life, you have to take the good with the bad eh!

I had better expectations due to my training recently and felt I had let Paul and Dylan down in a way as he puts up and helps allot with all my training, takes me to races supports me and now even looks after me when I am feeling really ill sat on the sofa urghhh :-(

SNOW BALL FIGHT LOL

2°C | °F
Current: snow and hail
Wind: S at 16 km/h

Humidity: 81%

I had a snow ball fight in work dude's/ets, It was fun, although I was wearing heels, so I didnt want to slip im not logging miles or sprinting ah ah ha ha ha....... I got Lee on the bum, and Kevin well he wasnt very happy as I got him and his hair would be messed up ha ha ha..... We did do work to but had a break for a snow ball fight.

It was my last day at work, we usually go on holiday at Christmas, been to Lapland and Dubai, well this year we got the renovations on the house to pay for so no holiday as hubbys work is quiet....... Its nice to be home and not have to work.  Although I still feel very unwell, but I am not the type of person to go lay down I stay up and fight LOL.

So a 9 mile run in the snow, ice, hail, wind and cold but it was fun, to a certain degree!

I nearly got run over again, they dont grit the pavements, so once I had enough  of all the snowy icy sandy trails, I hit the road on the way home and ran on the road, well some dude wasnt even looking he was fiddling with summit in the car I was waving my arms like mad and then he saw me last minute I just laughed thankfully not run over ;).

so it was a slow 9 miles I had trouble getting going my hammy is stiff and sore, my lungs are kinda bad with all the coughing and sneezing and wheezing but I ran because I am an athlete well thats my excuse just STAY UP and FIGHT he he :-)

I didnt go the gym havent got enough time, my son is doing a goalie course at Liverpool Football Club's academy, so I have just enough time to get 9 miles in and shoot up there and pick him up, today I was running late literally and had to run up there in my sweaty run clothes urghhhh I hate doing that, lycras and lightweight jacket and hat, gloves.  Its his last day tomorrow.  then it was a case of more chores, doing paperwork and tax and vat returns, oh and more paperwork........ oh and I did the last food xmas shop 9pm at Tescos, it was mad everyone was there! its only one day, one meal come on peeps do you have to buy so much unhealthy food???

I think I was the only person with healthy food in the trolley ha ha I did get some chocs but thats for the staff at the gym, oh and 2 packs of mince pies, again Im dropping some off at work even though I am not in work tomorrow oh dear I'm tired now,  then I cleared the dining room, as its just been decorated so more cleaning and tidying omg Im so tired...

Wow I slept allot last night, after such a big build up so much stuff I have done in the last 3 weeks, I think I was really whacked out with being ill too......and I aint the sort to go lay down  either I stay up and fight....eventually I have to get rest at some point as I am so hyper all the time I do wear down eventually.

11 hours sleep last night, yeah went to bed at 11.30pm, and got up at 10.30am wowsers and it was nice, cos Paul must have been just as tired and was whacked out like me till 10.30am..

We had a clear up round the house, with a proper full english breakfast now let me describe this to all you Americans.....

about 6 rashers of bacon each, we had small sausages so 5 each, 2 eggs fried toast, chopped tomatoes and black pudding yummmmmmmmy.

We then watched a Disney film nice 2 hours later, run time..... I wanted to do at least 9 miles and Dylan my son hasnt cycled for ages although he does allot of bmx'ing, so I went on an off road route and met Paul and Dylan so they only did 6 miles.

1hr 8 mins, I went off much too fast, and then eased off, towards the end, must have been all those calories lol......

now off to my parents for the family gathering, of my bro and his wife and there four kids,  my sister her hubby and there two kids one is 18 so he brought his latest girlfriend well hes been seeing her for a while now...... oh my mum and dad of course and my Uncle mike who lives with my mum and dad hes my mums bro (mentally handicapped but hes pretty cool)...... so a huge buffet of high calorie foood  yummmmy......... Im so full I can roll around my run tomorrow LOL.

Spoke to my coach and its a short and easy run tomorrow no more than 4-5 miles and maybe a long run or session on Monday yay! I feel lots better today.    :-)

I hope everyones Christmas has been as enjoyable as mine ;-)

Okay, as we have the week off work, both of us thought we should clear out the attic and get the insulation up to the required amount especially if we are going to sell the property, not soon but in a year or so. So we bought the insulation and boards to board the attic out too.

My goodness what a backbreaking job, all the stuff we cleared out, although we still had boxes and stuff up there we wanted to keep for now anyway, so lots of stuff to shift still around the attic as we insulated it and boarded out.  Urghhh very tireing but we got it done.

Then went and had a light bite out, back home some more tidying and I got ready for my run.  Yesterday I rested as I had seen the physio and my hip was pretty sore, but not too bad today.

Temp run, now I have been ill for a week so I  knew this would be hard and the week before wasnt really full of training as I had cut down allot for the xcountry race, so 2 weeks easy really.

2 mile warm up 8 min pace

supposed to be 4 miles a tempo pace Last time I did it in 6.20ish pace, this time I set off at 6.30 pace.

1. 6.28

2. 6.22

3. 6.42  urghhh I hit the wind and the last half mile of this one was hard, I stopped on 3 miles, and turned around had about 2 mins rest if that, Paul talked me into  trying the last mile still as I was pretty annoyed as I have obviously lost some fitness or just having a really bad day I think it was loss of fitness.

4. 6.18 I felt good all the way through this mile, the wind was across me not in my face so much better.

1 mile warm down a mere jog 8.30ish pace.

Stretched and vibro gym, I feel really tired now, not sure I was ready for that today, and not sure If I should have done it, as I have not been able to get hold of my coach since 2 days ago....... Tuesdays are tempo or mile reps, so I opted for the slower of the two to make sure my hip didnt go....... I didnt feel my hip during the run but I feel it now so I am sat on some ice LOL.

Nothing to tell no stories boring day eh! oh oh I did scare my son on this run ha ha on the last mile he had cycled away abit from us ahead of me, so I picked the pace up knowing it was my last half a mile and ran right behind him he jumped as I went along side him he he wicked mother :-)

I am Tired to say the least not sure if I am still ill as I really am tired. not much to say 7 miles sand dunes and trails a little road, average 8 min miles, alhtough some allot slower through the sand dunes and some allot faster I clocked a 7.15 mile and a 8.55mile so thats shows the difference in terrain.

I have had a dreadful week for training, but I am now trying to hold off an injury my hip is sore, but it was better today than yesterday so thats good.

Starting the New year with a hopefully 14 mile off road with the local club Southport Waterloo ac, I have to be up for 9am to get the train for 10.10am, I am hoping Paul and Dylan can make it they will cycle too some of the route is not suitable for cycling so they will have to go the long way round but thats good for them too.
