Weather warnings great, doing at least 15 miles today at least, Im trying to work out a small route I can do in the pinewoods so I avoid the wind too much lol and just do it 3-4 times update later ;-)
He he, 9.5 hours of sleep and I needed it after the weekend I had :-)

Rucksack ready with fuel and 2.5lts of water and it was heavy urghhh !
16 miles of sand dunes, sand trails, hills, hills, some tracks and 1 or two miles on good old tarmac.. Ouch this was a hard run it was windy still in the forest and cold today with some splatters of nasty cold rain.

1hour 45 mins training in total.
I only did four miles as I am thinking of double training and doing some mileage tonight maybe 5 miles but the weather is really bad torrential and windy !
Omlegs my sore legs lol well started out easy I hate running in the dark our paths (sidewalks ) are not very well lit in the suburbia and they are really bumpy rubbish rubbish, slippy leaves so I try to run on the road were possible, Paul cycles with me during the night for safey too well I didnt have one incident in 16 miles of sand dunes and trails yesterday but tonight I twisted my ankle slightly on a damn pine cone on the road urgghh PHHHHHHTTTTTTT not funny curse curse but Im okay its not too bad after a few steps to check it so off I went
Just to add my song for this run was Shaft mambo swing I was in the mood for it
SWAY !
5.5 miles mostly 8 min miles the odd 7/7.25 when the path went wide and well it I could pick the pace up so B~U~R~T Im ahead of you he he he giggle giggle the girlie is giggling ;-)
Warm up at gym 15 mins level 6 xtrainer
oooh weather is proper Pants !
1.5 miles warm up 8 min pace
4 mile tempo run well tempo effort sand dunes mud mud mud and sand dunes, beach and then more mud ha ha 26 mins
3 mile warm down some trail some sand then tarmac back to the gym.
5 mins xtrainer level 5 warm down
I was soaked and very muddy, got some very odd looks going back in to the gym but hey I'm training for xcountry at the moment so got to practice extra large grin as it was lots of fun!
;-) cba saying much else today ;-(
Evening training d
1st mile 8 mins warm up
2nd 6.51 nearly marathon pace raining heavy and wind !
3rd 6.48 mara pace
4th 6.34 half marathon pace (tempo pace)
5th 7.30 easing off pace windy
6th 7.51 mins warming down and feeling my calves ouchie!
I know I know two decent runs in one day 1st training session was a planned hard session, tonights well I was issed off so ran pretty hard considering the weather :-(
xtrainer level 6 20 mins looked out the window howling winds and rain urgghh
did some core work, then looked again still Pants weather........Walked over to the treadmill and the heating was on omg was not in the mood for sweatmill rather get soaked in the rain..... so
6 miles mostly off road absolutely drowned I was.
Physio my hips are real tight and stiff, probably from all the off road running, but she sorted it with some ouchie noises from me !
Okay long story, I sort of done the deal with the devil today well not really but If Its raining tomorrow Im on a cycle machine raising money for Cancer urghhhh........
As you read above I was mopping about the gym trying to decide whether to run on the S/mill of run outside in really bad weather!
Instructor John " You okay dont see you with a long face often?"
Me " CBA" John "OMG your really in a mood, come on I will tell you some jokes"
Me " no really cba but gonna run it outta me, my arse that is LOL "
John is on a cycle machine by the way, the instructors are taking it in turns on the machine an hour at a time, hes done 3 lots of 1 hrs today apparently!
John " well see you in a about 2 secs then"
Me "oh very funny, more like 10 hours the way I feel"
6 mile run I return looking like a drowned rat very muddy, John is still on the cycle machine.
John "Oh well that was quick" me "very funny" No really you look more cheerfull
Me "yes very drowl!" John " Okay Okay, Hun do you feel better?"
me " Actually yes, but if it rains tomorrow I will cycle for you all, 1 hour only though"
John "OMG omg, will you really, but and but you better look happy you will scare people away"
Me " oh okay I will be happy tomorrow dont worry as its tomorrow LOL"
John " Its a deal then? if so I will go do a rain dance" Me "ha ha you dont need to the weather forcast is crap again LOL yeah deal"
So as you see Ive been stupid when Im tired and moody I agree to stupid things, IM too nice to too many things and fed up of tip toeing around people, so new order of the day, I will enjoy cycling to raise money, but anything else people are going to be told !
OK I was in work all morning and it didnt rain, it was misty but no rain, turns 12.55pm, 5 mins to leave work and the heavens open omg NO, I cant do cycling I need to do a session today.
Off I go to the gym hoping I wont get stopped and collared to do an hours cycling.... the non stop cycling had finnished at 11am this morning Yay I dont have to cycle, ha ha ha
So 15 mins xtrainer level 6 warm up, still pouring down outside urgghhh !
so I wrap up got my waterproof jacket on, iphone all wrapped up snug as bug in a rug.
Im eager to do this sessions another tempo effort, my hips are stiff so I stretched them out a bit.
2 Mile warm up to the start of my route, same one starting at shorrocks hill, up past back of range, the side of the barracks then beach and the half mile sand dune and back to the start although this is only 3.4 miles so I will continue on road straight down Queens Road hoping the 4 th mile will end before the railway crossing.
So Off I went the rain actually eased for my tempo run but that didnt matter as the mud was proper xcountry style mud, and the sand was softer than normal huh!
that half mile sand dune is so draining I could feel my hip on it tooo, hit the road and I looked at the watch I was clocking a 6.30 pace off the sand dunes bit of a hill up and down carry on past my usual finnish at Shorrocks and straight down the road, I was hammering it, but its hard when you dont know the exact finnish in your mind visually, I just kept looking at the watch and thinking the sweatmill clocks off miles quicker ahhhhh.... zooming along in the pouring rain and a breeze against me at this point, I can see people stood at the bus stop pointing at me I was thinking oh no what have I dont summit stupid again, just keep going doesnt matter if you look weird of something
then I see a runner running towards me I recognise him and we nearly high fived I think we both just raised our hands to say hi but we were that close LOL just got the 4th mile in literally 3 metres from the railway crossing, I stopped bent over and threw up ha ha not a nice sight I must add..... but hey what do you do when you push yourself so hard it happens. I stretched a bit soaking wet and jogged back to the start of the run as I had left my waterproof jacket (I cant run hard with that on just annoys me) so stop stretch again had to stretch my hips out and off I went back into the woods, for some cover and a mile, then ran on the roads for 2 more miles at an ok pace 7 min pace or thereabouts proper torrential rain at this point and I was feeling sick again oh dear I felt really drained.
On walking into the gym, John had to say something, didnt he
"Hi, you ran in that rain, your mad" Reply "No I just stood in the shower LOL"
"Ha ha very funny more like it you getting lazy these days"
Reply " yeah something like that, but I'm feeling better today".
Off I went for a hot shower and quick stretch, I was exhausted no no Knackered needed sugar and water in my system so off I went home to eat and drink.
4 mile tempo run in Pants Weather ;
mile 1 6.45 mins very muddy and windy
mile 2 7.15 sand starts same effort but feel slow
Mile 3 8.00 mins the beach sand was soft, same hard effort, and 0.5 miles of sand dunes
Mile 4 6.29mins hitting the road 0.3 sand dune coming off it and road to the end
Felt like the same effort all the way around pretty damn hard to say the least, but Im upto 4 miles so I am happier. I am hoping when I speak to my coach he may let me try some on road tempo runs next week I really wanna see how fit I am.
rest day tomorrow even though I would like to do 5miles to get my mileage upto 60 so Im not sure I might do a gentle easy run I have to see how my legs feel tomorrow.
I know I have lost weight not weighed myself though, Paul keeps moaning and trying to feed me up and Im eating it but I do feel leaner, my physio thinks I look too drawn in the face but I dont see it, Im not intentionally trying to lose the weight now, Im just eating sensible especially before and after my training to make sure Im recovering etc
1st 2 miles 8 min pace to warm up and a hilly route out fishermans path....
Average 7.01 mins odd miles were 7.10 or even 6.45 pace more like marathon pace than easy long run. I felt good from the start and was holding back sometimes checking my watch and Im at 6.30 pace so had to ease off this happened 3/4 times along the run.
2nd to last mile I let loose doing a 6.33 min mile. then jogged in doing 8.30/8,45 pace.
I went through 9 miles in 1hr 6mins
weather is nice cool, hardly a breeze even sunny damp not crisp but real nice weather. This I think would have been a good day for a race as everything felt right, although my hips felt really tight and stopped twice to ease off, also my right calf is sore I think no Im sure my physio forgot to massage the right calf, I did say to her at the time but she was convinced she did it, but she didnt and im really feeling the effect of not having a massage on it.
Paul cycled with me and he helped allot with the pacing although sometimes getting carried away himself and pushing the pace :-)
Well Got some sleeepppp Yawn 9 hours still felt really bad this morning like hungover urghh.
Last day of work today then I have 1 whole week off, catch up on everything at home and paperwork for Paul's business also hoping
to
train eat sleep train eat sleep
Gym 10 mins xtrainer level 6
7 mile easy run pinewoods and mostly beach what a lovely day, misty but sunny and crispy cold very nice run today took it real easy but was still holding back 8min pace.
When I hit the road I saw a cyclist and started to pick the pace up then ping my brain said silly girl easy run slow down be sensible so I did Ha I amazed myself today for doing that was not like me LOL..
So I am going to enjoy my week off work, and this weekend Paul and I go away for a 2 days on our own, thats a nice change nice posh 5star hotel with a great deal on the internet free upgrade to a junior suite and a discounted Meal in there own restaurant .... Cant wait.
Well got up raining again, urgghhhh, needed to sort loads out today, too much to do too little time.... but went to go for my Neros Breakfast, lol large latte didnt make it for unforseen reasons, but needed to take the books to the accountant so I did that instead ! ....
got home did 1 million and 1 things still felt un motivated to run (so not like me) I hope Jeff's unmotivation is not rubbing off on me! Nope I went back to bed and woke up 3 hours later omg thats not good but hey I must have needed it!
Paul got home and we went for a walk very short one but he tried to lift my spirits somewhat but not allot. Didnt run today but will see what tomorrow brings, IM hoping im back to my normal self, as over the last few days and weekend Ive had a re-lapse of my former self (need to get back to Happy Bunny LOL ) :-(
Ok, still feeling really low and tired today. So I forced myself to the gym after phoning too many call centres and sorting out too many things ahhhh
10 mins xtrainer level 6
warmed up 8 min pace for 2.2 miles
stretched, then stretched again then still trying to put off the tempo run streeeetched again.... tried to decide which way to run round the 3.2mile route as I wasnt sure which way the wind was going.... ha I hit the beach and the wind was right in my face, I just forced the pace to try stick to last weeks pace along the beach...... then the last 0.8 miles on road again same effort but the pace was at real tempo pace!
1st mile 7.01
2nd7.03
3rd6.59
4th6.28
stopped but didnt puke this time Nice one! It was faster this week, I did the same route but the other way round and had the half mile sand dunes 1st so I could tackle them with more GUSTO although the beach was windy too I actually cut the time by 41 secs from last weeks tempo.....
I should be over the moon but I just thought hey ok thats better, and jogged off back to the pinewoods, and through to add more miles. I perked up a little I saw a lady in a wheelchair and she was looking at me very miserably, I thought you know what that could be me, I should be glad i can still run and walk.... my spirit was somewhat raised momentarily till the end of the run anyways. 5 miles. 3 in 8.30 pace second to last 7.30 pace and last easing off near the end 7.30 pace.
30 mins xtrainer level 5 this hurt I was tired too, but the lucozade and mad techno music woke me up and off I went mad as hatter on the xtrainer ha ha.... core work and streeettttttchhhhhh foam roller ouchie and streeetch :-)
I arrived at the gym at 12.05 noon and left yes left after running etc at 2.45pm.... 2 hours 4o mins of training as I didnt get changed there or anything so it was all training!
Spoke to Coach today whilst having coffeeeeee and I am going to drop the long run this weekend so its just 1 more tempo run preferably on the road and some easy running till next week just to make sure Im not coming down with anything and next week is my 1st mile reps so I need to be in tip top condition.
So Happy Bunny today well 50% closer to it ! hopefully just a blip Yesterday and the weekend, I shall be back I SHALL be happy bunny SOON
:-) p.s Lots and lots of people keep asking am I doing the Marathon for a charity, well not really, but they want to donate so I thought about it and last time I raised money for the Childrens Hospital that helped save my sons Life, so this time I decided well not sure.
My friend whom I run with sometimes and has raised so much money doing endurance marathons i.e the Marathon Des Sables and Arctic endurance race over 5 days, and much more anyway its a local charity as in small and all money yes every penny goes to the charity which is "Isaacs House"
http://www.isaacshouse.org/
I am not plumbing for money although I will put up my just giving website once its up and running, Im not going to put much effort into raising money as Im running the marathon for me really and nobody else just to let you all know thanks Sam.
still 6lbs to go, and all that lucozade LOL
Oh ok didnt go the gym today, although he might miss me he he.
I had a relaxing morning and spent it in the coffee shop Neros mmmmm, first with my sister whom I had a lovely coffee and cup of tea with and a nice chat.
Then I had a coffee with my friend Tracy and her youngest son Joe well he is just a bundle of laughs, hes 3 and a half and is so cute but hes huge for his age in height and structure very broad shouldered, he is very active so say the least like a 3yr old with skittles but without the skittles LOL but I love him and think his singing and abc's at the top of his voice was great. He had a small chocolate cake I had a mince pie, and he ate his cake so quick it was funny LOL.
Enough relaxing home, and did another off road run, only last mile on road, I felt tired running today not sure why but did, lots of sand dunes trails and sand dunes again.
9.4 miles 1hr 16 mins.
Then it was off to the hair dressers as Paul was nagging me somewhat that my hair really needs doing and he has told me for about 3 weeks but training was more important than sitting in the hairdressers so I just left it a couple more weeks he he.
Happy days, and cant wait to go away this sunday with Paul and be pampered in a lovely spa hotel :-)
really pleased with the tempo run 1st real good session so far since my injury.
jogged back the 4 miles Paul cycled with me on this training session. 8/8.30 pace oh and for some reason I puked on the way back ha ha small puke fest Paul was not impressed at all his reply "disgusting" LOL
then the further 2.5 miles jogged back I found my hips were really hurting at this point.
gym 30 mins I did a bit of a interval session on the xtrainer from level 6 upto max level 12, a min on each level then dropped down to level 6 and did this as fast as possible for 1 min then 2 mins rest did this twice it was hard.
6 mile easy run pinewoods and sand dunes trails etc..... weather is pants LOL
15 mins xtrainer level 6
core work hanging leg crunches
15 x 2 then doing side crunches the same 15 x 2 each side.
Its rained really heavy all day today and I needed to do a fast session.... when I have done this before on the road I end up with cramped up calves so stay in the warm gym and aboard the sweatmill.
2 mile warm up 8 min pace
5k = 3.2 miles at 15kmh then last mile at 15.5kmh so going from 6.24 pace to 6.18 for the last mile. so thats a 5k in 19.28 mins which Im happy with as it wasnt too hard, I sung most of the way through this workout ha ha much to the people in the gym the odd sentence was sung..... a fitness instructor came over and looked at the speed of the Sweatmill and gave me the thumbs up so that was nice :-)
Sweat rating proper sweaty betty I hate the sweatmill, and find it harder than running outside honestly I just do !
5 mins jog recovery with stretches too
1 mile rep 6.01 mins
5 min jog recovery
1mile rep 5.58 mins
1 mile warm down jog
ON these 1 mile reps I jogged for 0.1 mile at about 7.45 pace then picked it up for the full mile as the treadmills in my gym are a little old and take a while to get going to 16kmh.... ha ha thats full speed tooo on our treadmills I think there is one tm that is allot bigger and goes quicker but its on the end of a row near were everyone walks and not near an air con fan so I dont think people would take to my sweat flying and me singing near them LOL :-)
I finnished with 1 mile jog and a HUGE smile, I was so happy I got through a pretty tough session without being injured and feeling pretty darn good happy days really HAPPY DAYZ.......... :-)
Nice long walk with Paul and Dylan and our dogs, or and the cat followed us again on our walk how funny is that, hes a bengal and very vocal all the way around the walk hes talking to us so cute.
10 easy miles v windy but it was only spitting
it's spittting ha ha lol
Okay im really tired today and my calves are sore, also my hammy and hip are a bit tight and sore!
Ive missed the physio this week on purpose but I am feeling it. :(
did 5 mins xtrainer then went out as I didnt have that much time today did 10 miles easy
1hr 18 mins so thats 7.45 pace average although I did some allot faster 7.00/7.15 then some slower 8.00/8.15 against the wind.
I was supposed to do another tempo run but I thought better of it listened to my body yes Me even I am surprised....... hopefully my legs will feel better tomorrow and do the tempo then.
So I got Paul to massage me Ouch he hurts really does but my legs feel better already :-)
None nought nothing not a thing tooo tired couldnt sleep didnt sleep had nightmares so much toooo tired to run today and legs feel really acheing still my calves are so tight not a happy bunny today :( but hey hope I sleep tonight :)
Oh dear another not so good night sleep, two nights in a row, either something is really bothering me or something is really bothering me !
Paul actually woke me up as I was making weird noises another nightmare eh!
I wasnt sure how my legs really felt today the felt sore to touch but not to walk, so I thought I would suck it and see ! maybe a couple of miles easy or a reasonable long run.
The weather is pretty bad in the uk at the moment most of the northwest is covered with weather warnings gladly we havent had it worse than usual, just wet windy and damp cold urghhh.
I waited till the afternoon to run as I needed to fuel and had a few scoops of vino last night LOL.
13.4 miles in total in 1hr 31 mins average overall is 7.20 min miles
1.7.36
2.7.21
3. 7.25
4.7.35
5.7.31
6.7.45 windy
7.7.16 I think I picked the pace up too much due to battling the wind
86.48 1 mile at tempo pace with a cross wind.
97.05
107.24
11/11.53.15 half mile a short rest to stretch and do a tempo mile
11.5-12.5.6.35 tempo pace
13.47.11
A good run considering my tiredness and tight legs :-)
Not much to report I was pretty zoned all the way through this run I listened to a pop top 10 song which I played over and over to keep a good rythme !
Allie No wooly bikini but shorts tshirt and lovely wooly long socks ! LOL
Yes very tired, drained but happy I did this run and no big repercussions so far :-)
okay I didnt sleep much again Ouch..... and early morning got builders in today to start work on our house urghhhh..... reason for no sleep well it wasnt me for once it was my son he had growing pains poor thing but I NEED MY SLEEP :)
finished work late, so not much time I was seeing my physio early so only had about an hour if that to do a workout!
the gym was busy, Formby High school arrived with my old pe teacher Mrs Williams See see everyone Im not that old well she must be really old now LOL a bus load of school girls, all giggley and not wanting to move a hair outta place oh dear I hope nobody gets on the sweatmill next to me it would be shock horror omg sweaty betty ha ha
It was that warm I resorted to summer clothing on a hot day yes shorts and crop.
My coach is annoyed with me, Its race week so xcountry this Saturday and I should have waited and done my tempo run tomorrow although it wasnt much of a tempo run 2 miles eh! but I was told to do this session this week and my legs felt okay I wanted to do it today so I did as I spit me dummy out LOL !
So easy day Tuesday, strides Wed and good length run, Thursday short and easy then rest Friday and race Sat xcountry 5miles.
Now It may sound a bit drastic tapering for a xcountry that is only 5 miles long but omg xcountry in this country is hard Sat afternoon I will want to just curl up into a ball and die, its not hard like acheing like a marathon its hard like you have run your guts out proper and your legs ache but you just get so tired within hours honest its not nice well it has been 2 years since I ran xcountry so maybe im being a bit of drama queen he he :)
I warmed up xtrainer so that used time up ahhhh
2mile warm up on the sweatmill and it was a sweatmill today no air con no nothing??? why I dont know but it was hot
2 mile threshold 6.20 pace
jogged for 5 mins
1 mile 6 min pace
then jogged for 1 mile
6 miles thats all I had time for and a 5 min xtrainer warm down and off to see the physio ouch OUCH OUCH physio hurt me lots OUCH.
No pain no Gain
Happy bunny me ol legs are holding out still but only just :-) = Happy bunny :-)
Got some better sleep last night but still not great, my cat was run over yesterday and the vet rang late he wouldnt settle and they couldnt find anything too bad wrong with him just superficial and a bruised hip, so I collected him and settled him at home but I just couldnt sleep properly I kept having to check on him, but he seems allot better today :(
xtrainer 15 mins level 6 just enough to warm up
6.5 mile easy run route hoggs hill run to squirrel and then main roads back to the gym! very muddy today cold dull and windy weather is miserable, horrid not nice and depressing, urghhh! 47mins approx lol.
Got some proper funny looks today but I know it was due to the mud infested legs I had ha ha it was fun to run through the mud and I thought oh well I will have allot more on Saturday. I felt good running and had to hold my self back I had the good run feeling and thought oh please stay with me till Saturday oh please cos "I gotta feeling, oooh oh " oh and I listened to this song today lots and lots on my run "get shaky" ha ha its a good song to run to its funny ;-)
xtrainer 15 mins I did some short 1 min intervals to break it up as I was a touch fed up with the xtrainer.
Foam roller and stretching. My phsyio seems to have found my trigger point for my hip tightness so I foam roller'd it and stretched out seemed to have helped lots.

UPDATE
7th in the Mid-Lancashire league, I was aiming for top 10 Im happy with that.
63rd in the Uk athletics McCain challenge I didnt have any hope of coming this high up as I have only done 4 weeks of sessions and consistant training
the time is a big improvement on what I thought I had done :-)
Also My legs are okay today which is Sunday, not too sore, hip and hammy a bit tight Im having a day off :-O Happy days
Crisp sunny wintery day, no rain but its rained that much over the last weeks that the course was a mud bath and boggy all the way around with no let up what so ever!
Well I am not sure were I came the results were 45 mins behind schedule and I just wanted to get home and get a shower I was caked in mud. :-)
I went off easy well if you can call boggy conditions easy, the instruction from my coach was take it easy wait 3 mins then slowly pick the pace up, I thought I did this
1 mile 6.12
2 mile 6.53
3 6.54
46.53
0.8 6.36 now I forgot to turn off my stop watch so I am not sure what time i came in on.
I am waiting for the results on the internet.
It was a really boggy course, I found it hard at one point half way round the second lap (1st big lap) but then got into a groove on the 2nd big lap, and thought the course was more closer to 5 miles although it was short, and thankful for a friend who told me its llike 200-300 metres to the finish and I should be kicking in now well I wouldnt have cought anyone else but I took a couple so that was great.
I felt like I did well but Im not sure, it was my 1st xcountry in 2 yrs so it was a huge shock to the system and it seemed long but short ha at one point I thought oh dear im not gonna make it round but then when I got into the groove I thought this is good and I could have gone another few miles at least.
~The rain stayed off yay~
I warmed up for a mile or so and warmed down for a mile and bit so I figured 2.5 miles which is enough. I am tired but not as tired as I thought I would be.
Paul and Dylan came with me to watch me run which was awesome I liked seeing them on the sidelines, as it was laps so I saw them a few times although on one lap Paul sorta pulled a face and was like "come on get going more" I just shrugged and shouted you do it then huh LOL I did say sorry at the end but I was having a tough time at that one point LOL. ;-)
I was running late as I had to go home and check on the kitchen fitters huh ! this throws my training session... so I got to the gym and my space is taken in the car park, I have my own space you know I really do, and i dont like it when its taken phhhhhht silly Christmas tree people, theyve taken over half the car park baaaa humbug.
10 mins level 5 xtrainer
9 mile run, didnt take the garmin trying to fun as I feel and drop the garmin on some runs, I still time myself but its off my phone which I carry for safety and has a stop clock in it.
1hr 6 mins 34 secs
good run it was dry, very cold but windy again a very cold wind, it was really chilly, I still wore my shorts but it was long sleeve and I didnt pull the sleeves up so it must have been cold.
4C with 7mph winds from the cold north brrrrrr
xtrainer 10 mins, 1 min level 5 1 min level 8 I did this for the 10 mins, which is tought going but I seem to get to 5 mins of this and my legs really feel heavy and hurt, although after this they feel great must be the lactic acid or some other rubbish being disposed of.
My mum thinks I need feeding up and I got home made leek and potato soup for my lunch, although it was alittle too close to my run 30 mins before, so not a great idea.
Still no kitchen another take out ahhhh, either that or a bbq in 2 C tonight its cold.
