OK I was in work all morning and it didnt rain, it was misty but no rain, turns 12.55pm, 5 mins to leave work and the heavens open omg NO, I cant do cycling I need to do a session today.
Off I go to the gym hoping I wont get stopped and collared to do an hours cycling.... the non stop cycling had finnished at 11am this morning Yay I dont have to cycle, ha ha ha
So 15 mins xtrainer level 6 warm up, still pouring down outside urgghhh !
so I wrap up got my waterproof jacket on, iphone all wrapped up snug as bug in a rug.
Im eager to do this sessions another tempo effort, my hips are stiff so I stretched them out a bit.
2 Mile warm up to the start of my route, same one starting at shorrocks hill, up past back of range, the side of the barracks then beach and the half mile sand dune and back to the start although this is only 3.4 miles so I will continue on road straight down Queens Road hoping the 4 th mile will end before the railway crossing.
So Off I went the rain actually eased for my tempo run but that didnt matter as the mud was proper xcountry style mud, and the sand was softer than normal huh!
that half mile sand dune is so draining I could feel my hip on it tooo, hit the road and I looked at the watch I was clocking a 6.30 pace off the sand dunes bit of a hill up and down carry on past my usual finnish at Shorrocks and straight down the road, I was hammering it, but its hard when you dont know the exact finnish in your mind visually, I just kept looking at the watch and thinking the sweatmill clocks off miles quicker ahhhhh.... zooming along in the pouring rain and a breeze against me at this point, I can see people stood at the bus stop pointing at me I was thinking oh no what have I dont summit stupid again, just keep going doesnt matter if you look weird of something
then I see a runner running towards me I recognise him and we nearly high fived I think we both just raised our hands to say hi but we were that close LOL just got the 4th mile in literally 3 metres from the railway crossing, I stopped bent over and threw up ha ha not a nice sight I must add..... but hey what do you do when you push yourself so hard it happens. I stretched a bit soaking wet and jogged back to the start of the run as I had left my waterproof jacket (I cant run hard with that on just annoys me) so stop stretch again had to stretch my hips out and off I went back into the woods, for some cover and a mile, then ran on the roads for 2 more miles at an ok pace 7 min pace or thereabouts proper torrential rain at this point and I was feeling sick again oh dear I felt really drained.
On walking into the gym, John had to say something, didnt he
"Hi, you ran in that rain, your mad" Reply "No I just stood in the shower LOL"
"Ha ha very funny more like it you getting lazy these days"
Reply " yeah something like that, but I'm feeling better today".
Off I went for a hot shower and quick stretch, I was exhausted no no Knackered needed sugar and water in my system so off I went home to eat and drink.
4 mile tempo run in Pants Weather ;
mile 1 6.45 mins very muddy and windy
mile 2 7.15 sand starts same effort but feel slow
Mile 3 8.00 mins the beach sand was soft, same hard effort, and 0.5 miles of sand dunes
Mile 4 6.29mins hitting the road 0.3 sand dune coming off it and road to the end
Felt like the same effort all the way around pretty damn hard to say the least, but Im upto 4 miles so I am happier. I am hoping when I speak to my coach he may let me try some on road tempo runs next week I really wanna see how fit I am.
rest day tomorrow even though I would like to do 5miles to get my mileage upto 60 so Im not sure I might do a gentle easy run I have to see how my legs feel tomorrow.
I know I have lost weight not weighed myself though, Paul keeps moaning and trying to feed me up and Im eating it but I do feel leaner, my physio thinks I look too drawn in the face but I dont see it, Im not intentionally trying to lose the weight now, Im just eating sensible especially before and after my training to make sure Im recovering etc

Only four hours sleep? Yikes!
I see you sneaked out of the cycling! LOL!
I think provided you eat when you are hungry there is no problem with weight. Ever seen an Olympic distance runner that didn't look skinny?

Chris I agree weight wise, although Ive always looked athletic rather than skinny so Im not sure the hubby likes it but hey if it makes me faster I dont mind at all in the least LOL
Jeff thanks, it was a decent run, and yeah I actually puked again back at the gym but in the privacy of the toilet but thats ok, I've done that a few times before when training hard.
resting up now thanks and Im gonna sleep in tomorrow. :-)
