Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT  

 

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

 I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

 

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced! 

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training 

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week 

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

 

 

As a youngster

1500ms 4mins 48 secs

high jump 1metre 53  (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!

 

Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin.

Top 50 finnisher at 14yrs of age in english nationals Xcountry.

Complete my 1st Triathlon    1st lady   Brinscall  ok this was a triathlon with no timed transition i treated it as a training race to see if I like triathlons and I love them.

Today was gonna be a big session day, but I did 4miles on the treadmill and felt real bad, so I went home and went to bed to sleep for a few hours so for once I didnt push through and listened to my body.....

Went for a long run with my friend (mad) shell, shes so funny, anyways it was meant to be 15 miles, but time was the essence, shell does about 8.40-9min pace so we cut it short and did 13.4 miles.... I actually found this hard not sure if it was as Im not feeling too great yesterday or the fact of running allot slower than normal!

 

Weather, it was spitting spitting I tell ya, and windy really quite windy and cold but ok thats horrid winter weather isnt it LOL

What a lovely Sunday.......... Lie in till 10am, I just couldnt get outta bed.... Hubby watching his Formula 1 so I made him and Dylan a big sunday breakfast  eggs (our Own chickens eggs) bacon (and no Paul has not talked me into a pig in the garden yet!) tomatoes, toast, tea more toast.......   lovely yummmmmmy....

 

So 11 hours sleep for me still felt tired but my legs felt ok no aches 1st time in months yay.... the stretching is paying off I did over an hour of stretching in front of the tv last night.......

 

We walked the dogs to the local village for a coffee (yes Chris Neros!) and walked back this was a nice loosen up for my legs which are feeling really good today.

I was going to do a medium tempo run today maybe 12 miles with a pickup throughout..... but it was getting late and wanted to watch Liverpool V Chelsea,  but as the half time whistle went I really was fed up of it tooo stressful..  Off for a 6 mile run instead .. I thought to myself go out easy come in hard..... Paul and Dylan cycled on there bikes

I felt good really good. 1st mile 7 mins and I was holding it back my route is ;  home to fishermans path to coast road which is undulating then coast road by-pass southport road, and home.   still holding back on the 2nd mile being 6.40 mins... started to just go with how I felt and really felt good 1st time in months Ive felt this good :-) grin grin.... 37mins37secs with a sprint finnish ( I did a warm down jog after about 0.5miles)  I felt sorry for Dylan he kept up but it was harsh for him with those hills....... so its the equivelant of a flat 6 mile run ! 

 

So hey I got my running mojo back proper this time and I have to take it easy next week but build my mileage each day......  ta for reading have a nice day I have :-)

Oh my goodness gracious me! nice sharp autumn weather today.

20 mins xtrainer 

stretch foam roller, legs feeling ropey today after my effort yesterday....

8.8 miles easy run hammy bit achey so stopped twice to stretch out 1hr 10mins

5 mins xtrainer and stretched and foam rollered again

 And why hasnt our postie dropped off my yay or nay for the London Marathon Im so annoyed everyone else has had theres but me!  urghhhh phhhht red for anger and actually red is my all time ever fav colour :-)

gonna do another hours stretch out tonight after a nice hot bath..... ;-)

 

 

 

 

omg 9lbs I need to go now I feel like blubber women when running too many pies and cakes and bacon egg sandwiches... indian food......crisps....Nero's.....Neros paninis....neros flapjacks......just too much crappy food lol it was nice whilst it lasted but now its training food only.... :-(

Its raining its pouring the old man is snoring 

 

Idiom of the day ;   I can be a bird brain......but im not a bad egg....and now I have opened a whole can of worms which Burt may have a bone to pick with me

 

 

Training-   wowsers the weather is bad torrential rain, and I really knew I couldnt run on the treadmill today as I had to do an easy run and running easy on the TM is a no go for me...just cant do it its too easy to press the faster button staring at you he he... So

10 mins xtrainer level 6 then stretched out (yes Im still stretching out)

6.6 miles mostly through the woods trails sand, sand, sand trails for approx 5 miles I ran from the gym up hoggs hill then the usual route straight through to the Squirrel reserve. HIt the roads.... back Vic Rd and straight through Gores/Liverpool Gym hey I was soaked...... the woods were very muddy so great training for my up coming xcountry races and the  roads were flooded.... it was funny cos cars were slowing down not to splash me I was already soaked so I didnt care if they splashed me he he he then the road 

was so flooded down Gores Lane that the paths were flooded too and I was running through at least a foot deep of water at some points this was fun different beats the usual boring easy run....... omg a car couldnt slow any more and splashed me the man was hanging out the window shouting sorry I just gave the thumbs up shouted its ok !

Got back the gym they think im nuts in there and said I should wear goggles next time as it was that bad I said I have some and did think about it lol

well off to the xtrainer soaked ha ha ha only did a short warm down and then stretched and foam rollered my hammy felt good I could feel muscles popping back in to place it was a nice feeling.  so there ya go.  

 

Oh I did run for fun club a running club I help run with my friend Kath at my sons local Primary school... I had a laugh with all the kids it was fun! played lots of run games as it was raining in the gym did dodge ball that was good kept them all on their feet :-)

Okay I still havent had my virgin London Marathon yay or nay...and I am feeling frustrated about this so I rang their Info Line being on hold for 15 mins to a London Number is quite Costly I should imagine but Hey Im in work.....I am still on the system thankfully and they havent sent out the replies yet gonna be next 2-3weeks urghhhh I must be the most impatient person when it comes to stuff like this

 

 

6 Miles went to go out easy...but when I looked at the Garmin it was saying 6.50 pace this isnt easy, so I thought well I felt good the other day and if I feel good again well lets go with it..... so I did some miles were fast some medium

6.50....6.45....6.32.....6.40....6.20....6.38  

 

Good run... stretched... hot bath then stretched again  happy days :-)

I was really looking forward to a big session today....... long run... gym work and a swim not done a decent swim for over 3 weeks now 

 

Okay... I had to go messages on my motorbike which was nice as it was a nice day allthough cold on the bike I was frozen by the end.... it was a straight run out to Liverpool down the motorway for quickness. and  came back through the city  etc to Formby it took me an hour so I was a bit washed out from this and being cold.  

 

Got to the gym it was really busy 10 mins xtrainer level 6

my tummy felt really off but I went out on my run  as sometimes its just me getting wound up before I run Does anyone else get this I mostly get it before sessions/races/long runs or just a hard run.......???????   

 

Okay it went away by the first mile which was pretty slow but I was really having to keep it slow as I went out at 6.45 pace but I kept it slow at 8.01 for the first mile. as I was going  to do at least 9 miles.... i got 2 miles and felt bad oh dear glad I stayed away from the roads..I was doing trail running through the woods for xcountry training.  by 2.5 miles I stopped walked sat down walked sat down walked tried ringing Paul to pick me up but no answer oh well. started to walk back then jogged in really slow with the odd walk so not a good run or day or start to a big session.  

tried to go on the xtrainer bad luck I was out of breathe straight away ???? eh what is going on so after 1.30 mins I just quit and went to do core work well it ended up just stretching LOL and a bit of a foam roller but not enough of either IM sorry ! off home for a bath comfy clothes and sitting around as Paul is working really late tonight looking at jobs and quotes with a colleague but hey I actually weighed my self and its good news only 7 to go to race weight... although I have lost more from 2 days ago I have changed my goal posts for race weight  (well my race weight which is now 4 lbs lighter if I get there ha ha ha I like my naughty food too much at the minute )    ;-)

Wow weather is not nice, cold and very windy urgghhh.... so I went out thought I will do a nice 9 mile route but it was weird I always start this one from home but today it was from the gym so 

 

10 mins xtrainer level 6........ hmmmmm feeling okay... so off out to be a real runner in the elements of the great british weather thoughts not looking forward to it !

 

I averaged at 7.45 pace honestly 1st mile was 8 min s 2nd was like 8.50 due to the wind and sand dunes. then 2-3 miles down the beach  sandy and it wasnt hard sand today huh ! wasnt impressed with that at all...... some guys walking dogs tried talking I just nodded and smiled havnt a clue what they said I had my music blearing Mika fat girls LOL very funny to run to ha ha ha anyways maybe they heard my song blasting out and said summit silly well thats what i like to think...

back to the run eh so I did 6.5 miles off road sand sand more sand and some trails woodlands then good old road......by-pass omg the wind was strong here so I ended up cutting back into town and running through town which added half a mile to my usual 9 this is good yes very good bit extra mileage....... wow I was tired after this the wind really takes it out of you..... so my miles were some fast some mega slow some mediocre but overall good

1hr 13 mins 9.5 miles three quarters sand and off road :-)

 Stretched and foam rollered well that was shocking more strange looks I was saying under my breathe ouchi ouchie ouchie cos I found  a nice knot on my ITB and tried to foam roller it out ha ha ha 

Physio ..... all good a couple of rogue muscles in my left hammy nothing unusual there and an ouchie moment with the achilles both of them the left being worse but all good, Jane my Physio said my legs are looking lean so thats good but what about the rest of me huh so unfair lol 

 

Oh dear gossip My gym had some idiot gangsters in it apparently yesterday from Liverpool..... and some gang warfare how bad is that in Formby (im such a snob) apparently some big guys had a scuffle with some younger guys threats etc going on of breaking legs and things oh dear, gym guy said theyre guns and knives men  glad I wasnt there Id have banged their heads together like school boy playground (only kidding id have run a mile lol ) well anyways the two younger ones ran out climbing over the reception counter and the gym darent ban the other guys cos of who they are ....... dear me my thoughts Grow up ! but hey this happens but not in Formby So Allie Im carrying mace now in to the gym never mind on the dark alleys LOL    ( I am kidding, just the brass knuckles will do ha ha)

Dear Burt I had a rest day today it was deffo the vino me thinks I got up late didnt have enough time to run went to footy to watch Dylan play Soccer then we went off to the Go-karting.

 

Well what a day had so much fun go-karting I did okay tooo I had the fastest lap time till the last heat and this was out of 33 men whom all were petrol heads I might add.... some of them wouldnt speak to me LOL and some well they just thought I was a dark horse ha ha ha...... my time was beat by 0.19th of a second not bad eh I was impressed with myself.... but I have a very sore back and knee my knee kept hitting the damn steering wheel column and my back well I kept trying to sit forward cos I could feel it in the first heat then I had them fit a cushion in the seat for my soft arse /boney back lol (no not cos Im skinny I am just a boney person lol)   well I still got a bruised back but it wasnt as bad as last time so thats good :-)

 

I came 11th out of 33 and I didnt make the final because on the last heat I was trying too hard and spun off the track did a 360 about 4 times in to grass and it took me the rest of the heat to work my way back to 6th from 11 and just missed out by one place for the final... although I was glad it was a heated final hubby paul got rammed off when he was in 2nd and came in 2nd to last 3 men got black flagged which was taken off by officials and I dont know how many warnings were given to the rest so I dont think I would have lasted long out there lol  :-)

I didnt sleep well my back was so sore from yesterdays racing go-karts serious stuff too ! 

 

I spent the day trying to ease my wounds into movability...... took our son to the local bmx park for a 2 hr session yawn but it was good some pro bmxers there doing some serious stunts and falls he he (my insane side showing)

 

I went for my run with hubby Paul..... left dylan behind as it's my Dads birthday today and it ended up that i only had 1 hour to run and I was supposed to be doing 15 miles easy.....

 

So Burt I didnt do my med ong run that I carbed up with vino and muffins and cakes etc lol

 

So I went out thinking lets see how I feel I may do 6miles or go all out and see what I can do in an hour.... weather it was windy and med cold cold if your walking but okay if your running, I always get hot running lol    so I went out at 8 min pace as it was a hilly start through Fishermans path to the coast road... wind behind me at this point or missing it then by-pass for a nice strong cross wind and upto my gym and back through Formby.

 

I saw along the by-pass and old man join the cycle path just in front of me I picked the pace up thought old man he he I have you in my sights well I got down to 6 min pace and thought jeez im not gonna keep this up old man is fast cyclist.... I just though come on sam ya wanna do 8 maybe 9 miles at a push I set for the 9 mile mark and held off at marathon pace still so Ive done marathon pace through out my run except first 2 miles..... I knew running through Formby would be agains the wind but thought I can pick it up I will be fine it wont be that strong.......omg I was so wrong I did pick the effort up to hold the pace LOL I was shattered I really was a few unkind words came outta me mouth when running directly into the wind he he hubby just looked at me abit hmmmm shes struggling look... but as soon as I got out of the wind last half mile I was zooming along its like someone stop pulling on my reins feeling and let me go off an elastic band WOW I was running fast 5.50 pace the garmin said all the way to the end.......

 

 

thoughts happy bunny here today    1hr 1 min 10 secs 9 miles  fastest 9 miles I have done in training  and its against the wind :-)

During the meal I mentioned to the Paul about how fast the old man was cycling he said didnt you reckognise him I was like no.... he said oh it was Mr Clark from Formby High school I was like thank goodness wow I am pleased I got near him he was like a top cyclist when i went to school so I wasnt too bothered now but he is in his 70's and super fit too obviously :-O 

So dear FRb's my run was good better than a slow 15 miler and I am sure this must have burnt off those horrid calories I decided to eat for an excuse LOL   and I made it just in time for my dads Birthday meal at the local indian buffet eat all ya want cos they know us there so we just eat them outta food he he he   back to the diet tomorrow just 7lbs to go to the race weight I am sure I will be near by the time I get my 1st xcountry :-)

x trainer 10 mins....didnt have much time today as I had to get my run out the way and see my phsyio...bit concerned about my back and hip after the go-karting. 

 Didnt sleep much either last night nightmares.....oh dear I do suffer with nightmares and sometimes if I wake up they recur so I got up at 4am checked on Dylan and didnt really sleep after that so I am so tired.....

6 miles went out at 8 min pace. my legs slightly acheing after yesterdays tempo pace.... ended up not being able to hold the pace.. I was holding back all the time. 5th mile was marathon pace then 6th mile being 6min pace I did enjoy it though.... just not sure I can go do my planned tempo tomorrow as this wasnt the 6 easy miles I was supposed to do bit naughty of me really should keep to the plan. 

It was a usual route, out from the gym up hoggs hill through pine woods and woodland trails sand and more sand back of the h/school and through woods to the red squirrel reserve than up vicky road. gores lane l'ppol rd and back to the gym so a good route I have been enjoying for my shorter runs recently only thing is with 1 mile to go I have to partially run through our local village and usually do quite well and avoid any pedestrians but some postman was walking I went to dodge him but he also went to dodge me both doing the same way ha ha ha I just skimmed him with a small shove but I said sorry and no I wasnt doing mp as I was crossing the road too so had to slow down it was more of a jog I knew this postie so it was funny lol  

 

The weather was a cool crisp day with the sun out I love sunny crisp days like this lovely.

Stretched yes I am still stretching I cease to amaze myself lol

Phsyio yep im bruised up but it isnt too bad my left hip well what can I say every muscle in the hip seemed to be very highly strung and tense ouchie ouchie she did ease it all off so thats good.

Not run yet but I have just decided I am going to run tonight just 5 very easy, I feel washed out today...not slept properly in over 5 nights so it will be a run in the dark when nobody can see me jogging and then I cant run anyone over either he he

Work.....then waiting in all afternoon for a parcel to be delivered so I thought hmmmm clear out day... a whole car load of stuff went the tip...im sure Paul will go mad when he realises loads of old papers have gone and magazines and all sorts of crap/ old clothes.... shoes! the list goes on.............and on........ my car is pretty big too and it was bursting ha ha ha then I cleaned allot, actually did some ironing......... my house is like a chinese wash house today I did the weeks washing in one day me thinks :-)

I just got in to the zone for cleaning and clearing out and its Autumn not spring.

 

The parcel eventually arrived it was big and well worth the wait he he

 

He he I did 7.4 in the end... I went out from home to the beach down fishermans path way and ran through the sand dunes then down the beach what a beautiful night really still crisp and a sunset to die for really was nice...........   When I was running down the beach alls I could think about was you lot FRB's ha ha I thought that maybe my running into a postman was my unconscious mind and that really I meant to run into him as they still havnt delivered my marathon reply LOL ....... once the sun had set I thought oooh need to get over the sanddunes through some woods and to some roads as I havent got my knuckle dusters.....spray or tazzer gun on me and yes it did seem overly dark the only thing was I had to make my way to the porta loo at Formby Point car park as I certainly wasnt trying to find a large bush to hide in and the other day did get nettle stung LOL so it was porta loo for me.  Then down a dark ish road and Harington rd then home well sort of the train station had the barriers down so  I went to run over the bridge and bang theyre I go again I ran into a train ticket collector ha ha ha why I do I keep running into people and mainly thick set men thankfully cos I'd probably knock anyone slight over......... I looked up when I was running down the stairs of the bridge and a group teenagers were starring at me ha ha ha they had the jaws on the ground and as I ran off I thought omg (bra check, shorts check, other check no no and no ive not pulled my knickers over my shorts or forgot my bra what the eck was that about LOL) oh I was taking 2-3 steps at a time maybe it was my light footedness oh well home bath stretch and bed yawn 

 

oh and dear mr Sandman please let me sleep tonight please please please yawn night people :-)

Okay forget all that follows blah blah blah cos

oh yes I am in the VIRGIN LONDON MARATHON he he championship ladies race and have my no already no 205 YAY im in im in im in :-)  

 

I ran 6 miles today my usual route its actually 6.2 woodlands then road didnt knock any postie's over but did want to hug my postie didnt see him tho...... I was so made up with my news that I sang all the way round grinning ear to ear and saying hello to everyone even the bunny rabbits how funny is that I was tempted to high five an old woman then thought sam calm down you will knock her over  lol  

 I did 6 miles in the evening too they were 6 hard miles at 8 min pace..... I had to pick the pace up near the end as I had to meet Dylan as his soccer training was finnishing.... so 1st time in a few months for a 2 day training session........ gotta get those miles in for xcountry now.... but glad I stayed slow as I have a session for the 1st in ages a real training session tomorrow it is a tempo run so not intervals and the pace will be slower than I plan to do for my marathon tempo runs.... got to ease into my tempo runs now.

 

Alls I can say is Sleeeeeeeeep   Discussion in our office today why is it I am always so cold but also cant stand the heat especially when training i.e sweat mill etc but I am freezing when staying still  so 

 

fact apparently colleague tells me this : Fat is a better insulator, but muscle is what creates the heat. The more muscle one has, the more heat they generate, but the heat dissipates quickly without any insulation (fat). Arctic seals have a lot of fat on the outside of their body but a large central core of dense muscle, enabling them to get warm and stay that way. 


If one has a high amount of body fat and low muscle mass, one will slowly become cold and take a long time to heat back up. If one is the opposite (e.g., high muscle and low fat) one will get cold fast but heat up quickly! so the answer is I need more fat oh yes come one donuts..pies cakes etc....oh hold on I just need to wear more clothes then or have the heaters on in the office LOL

Yay Sleeep I got some sleep last night apparently I was talking again lol not sure what I was saying but I was talking in my sleep yawn.

 

10 mins xtrainer level 6 

stretch and foam roller my hammy

2.8 miles warm up then hit the speed button on the sweatmill........ and it was warm today or is it me not sure but it was crop and shorts time thank god the gym was like dead quiet so I could get away with this attire ha ha ha

3.1 miles (the tm is in km so i did 5km)  I did start to feel my hammy at 4.5 km but lasted the 5km..... yes yes I had to keep it at 6.25 pace and was under strict instructions to only do 3 miles so I had to do 0.1 extra naughty girl.....

2 miles jog warm down ease off.........  

 

Core work... Ok I was shattered but still did some core work I wanted to go into the weights room but there were lots of men doing their own thing circuit style training... so I went off to the I call it hanging leg raises thingy thing.... did lots of  leg raises 3 sets of 15 then leg curl ups 3 sets of 15 and 2 sets of 10 for leg curls but to the side.

Ha ha the men seem to abscond from the area I wanted to do my medicine ball core work.... they left the medicine ball out that I use its quite a big one cant remember the size anyways did my v sit up and then stay in the v sit up and move the medicine ball to either side..... I have my music blasting whilst doing this core work as I find it hard work... unknown to me theyre now waiting for the blooming ball I was using oh dear!   so I tried the plank havent done this for some time and I have just blasted my abs Allie will be pleased that I aint got anywere near her 3mins 40 odd secs omg I did 1min 30 secs and dropped ha ha then its stretch stretch stretch foam roller foam roller  

 

the story behind the story well its great doing core work with a medicine ball that some big lug of men  use it make me feel all feminine NOT....and dont try doing the plank the same amount of time as ALLIE because she has abs of steal wehay !

 1st time since Ive been injured to top 50 miles in  a week and yes IM feeling tired :-)

10 mins xtrainer level 6  my legs are sore they felt sore last night after the small tempo run I didnt sleep well as my legs really were acheing ouchie 

He he he I did 10 miles easy but it felt harder than easy really today...but nice run out the sun was shining and a little breeze of cool wind lovely day for a run..... I think I found it harder than usual because I am a very happy bunny still and I was singing whilst running lol

 

 

I did 10 miles in total but the last mile was a slugs pace as I was being stupid trying to talk on the phone and jog in ha ha ha

 

so 9 miles in 1hr 12 mins 30 secs   last mile in 10 mins ha ha ha 

 

There is something very weird about  my time today... I didnt do a usual route at all either :-)

 and P.s I ransacked my nephews facebook today I know its really immature hes 18..... does bmxing and stuff he left my computer logged in to his facebook at work omg (hes always playing tricks on me so revenge LOL)   it's so funny I told everyone hes going to Australia with his new boyfriend (he isnt Gay he has a girlfriend but I wind him up saying he is) anyways I remarked on all the men as his friends it was so funny when I saw him log in I actually fell over laughing (he did see the funny side)

1st is I only have 6lbs to go yay ! 

2nd I weighed yesterday on my rest day pleased to have lost another 1lb.

3rd Sore tummy most of the night didnt sleep well......stomach bug me thinks

4th I still tried to do my run obviously running on empty hey ho mind strengthener

5th I only did 10.5 miles and struggled all the way round with 3 toilet stops Paul wasnt impressed at all

6th last 2.5 miles I really pushed it to get home and get it over with cutting the run short and not doing the planned upto 15 miles     last 2.5 miles in 6.30/6.45 pace so faster than marathon pace really.

7th Nap time yawn :-)

9.7 miles 1hr10 mins 30 secs  easy pace went out 8 min pace and didnt really bother too much with the garmin ran how I felt ! 

 My usual route I go across some fields but mostly road and some trail.  Well I could have dodged bullets today lol......long story !

What a day its really gone cold over here and damp cold too not nice.....  work was busy not so good for the people coming in and I arranged a friends mums funeral hes a runner too and owns a running shop in Southport..... hes alright but very upset and this drains you sometimes I hate my job!  

 

13.5 miles today

I didnt do the treadmill as I thought maybe doing the faster work on the treadmill when my hammy is still a bit crampy isnt great so I thought Ill go do a route I used to do for tempo runs.  (I like straight roads with no junctions but I hate the by-pass so I head out to a coast road which is pretty straight one or two roundabouts to cross but its a good route)

 

ok so 2.5 miles jog through fishermans path to the coast road this is like an undulating gravel track through a woods nice run kept my pace to 8.30 pace as I knew it would be hard to do a tempo run outside for the 1st time.

got to the coastroad and the wind was in my favour but I knew the roads is a long bend that by the end of my run it will be a cross wind at best !

off I went a little too excited to blow cobwebs away after work

mile 1 6.24 mins   

mile 2 6.31 mins

mile 3 6.39 mins ( cross head wind I struggled on this mile allot had to stop to cross a roundabout but I did hit the stop button not sure if thats the right thing to do or not it was only 5 secs before I crossed but of course their is the decrease and increase of speed to show !

so I ran 3miles out and then I went into the sanddunes path which runs along side the coastroad. which is sandy.grassy undulating to say the least and back home to make 12.5 miles well the run back was slow and it was my legs that felt it this time as on the tempo run it was my breathing and arms felt so heavy..

So an ok run I thought Id easily do 3 miles and maybe lengthen it to 3.5 or even 4 miles but there was no way I was going to do more than 3 miles.

QUESTION ;   what should the average room temp be for an office ?????? 

 Okay I did a 6 miler tonight whilst my son was at football/soccer training.... Paul has to come with me on the bike as hes put weight on and wishes to lose it !

although he does help me when he cycles with me.

I am supposed to have an easy run today but as my tempo didnt go so great yesterday I thought go out see how I feel and see if I can hold a pace for 3 miles.

3 miles 7.30 pace..... good warm up

4th mile 6.21  too fast

5th mile 6.40 dieing

6th mile 6.41 died sat down and was pretty annoyed as I really should have had a recovery run and ran hard tomorrow.... but hey it must all help for me to get back to fitness.

 

I rang my coach today and he was pretty cool about it all and thinks its just the trials and tribulations of recovering from injury..... my hammy was actually okay as I spent about 45 mins this afternoon at the gym foam rollering it and stretching it out after a small jog warm up.  I am not going to do a race this weekend as I had planned to do coach Reg said "no way, you gotta get fitter and youve only just started sessions 1 week ago so give it 2 more weeks maybe 3 then maybe race if all is well"  and I knew he was right I have to be patient urgghhh :-(

 

So the day started out bad got better then went bad again but thats life isnt it !

Okay I was tired this morning I did sleep sort of okay but not great.

 

10 mins xtrainer level 6.

 

I wanted to do an 11 mile route so I went out..... windy all the way out, path down the side of a barracks then round to hightown sanddunes crosby sanddunes then crosby front along the seaside but tarmac from here on.  all the way upto th leisure centre full on wind for over 5miles.  

Okay I started to head back but from the start I wasnt feeling great again and now was feeling worse, I dont usually take fluids with me for this sort of length run but felt very thirsty...and hungry I didnt eat much for breakfast and hadnt eaten since and last night was a light snack so I start realising im boinging (bonking/hitting the wall) it was pretty hard going average time 8/8.15 pace some faster some slower!  I hit the 10.5 mile mark and realised its no way a 11 mile route more of a 12/12.5 and I was running late due to the fact I was running slower than 1st thought  so I knew I was gonna run late literally for my phsyio appointment.  and I hit the by-pass and felt dizzy I wanted to be sick but as I hadnt eaten there was nothing there urgghhhh I had hit the wall I ran for 3 miles through it and seemed to hit it again I felt like I wanted to just sit down and go to the sleep ha ha ha so I rang Paul he was local thankfully and wasnt too bothered about picking me up actually seemed very happy to pick me up and drop me off at the gym....  so 10.5 miles Im happy with and I must have burnt some fat there LOL 

 

 

When Paul dropped me at the gym as this was my starting point it was funny all 3 male gym trainers were at the door how embarassing... they were like omg you ok you had an accident I must have looked awful, I replied "no just not eaten enough and ran outta puff"

they replied oh dear so you just flagged a van down then

Me " ha ha ha no thats my husband as if ! "   and I went to see Jane My physio and she was like oh god sam whats wrong I was like nothing im ok just need something to boost my sugar I think... and off she went I only wanted a lucozade as I think I would have thrown anything else up like food stuff. ha ha.

 

Ok my hammy was bubbly and needed sorting it was also a bit bunched up but thats the tempo run I think and my hip was bad  to say the least ouchie ouchie it really hurt but she sorted it out with me making silly noises ahhhh ahhhh ahhh LOL

Not much sleep my son Dylan was up most of the night moaning he had a headache etc so not feeling too good!

 

plan was run the route yesterday again.... Paul (hubby) told me at about 10am he was finishing work early and could cycle with me... well this alters the route as he cant do sand dunes etc, I missed some of the route out but it was just abit more direct and more tarmac.

Its a nice day though as we went towards crosby leisure centre there were allot of people along the front due to the centenery of the Royal Navy.

As they were docked in Liverpool port, and the helicoptors... planes and jets etc were doing an airshow.  It was nice to see that, the weather was a clear day sunshine but some head wind again all the way for the 5miles urgghh.

I had fuelled this morning to just a bit more porridge and a light snack at 10am as I run at 1pm.... I did ok  hammy ok and my best mileage week so far and I feel okay :-)

Nothing to report except for seeing some road kill yes a Pheasant, oh and Paul thought I was weird moooing at the cows as I ran past but I thought it was funny.... oh and red van man beeping and waving at me havnt a clue who it was but Paul thought I was fibbing, but he just laughed in the end and so did I  LOL why do the male species beep at you when your so obviously running with a man...I mean I know theyre stupid and beep at you when Im running but I just ignore them even when they hang out the window I just turn up my ipod unless Iknow them of course ! 

Okay I had fuelled for this knowing the weather would be real bad and the fact I boinked on a 12 miler the other day.... I had a normal size meal last night but mostly carbs and this morning well I had a bacon butty he he and then a chicken supreme at McD's naughty naughty girl but it worked I ran pretty well.... My coach thinks the weather would have made it more like an 18 miler training run it was rough out so Id agree, and why are all the miles either a cross wind or head on would have been nice to have wind behind me lol.

 

So all in all a great start to my week way to go and big pat on me back he he

Week off work this week so I decided I was going to take it as a recovery week as such rather than train more, Im going to train the same and take more rest, as before Ive trained allot more but im not in marathon training yet and this morning I felt under the weather.

 

I knew as well I had quite a few hours of tidying and clearing out this is room no 3 and another trip to the tip with a full car of tat ha ha but hey its worth all the work it looks so much better.  We havent stayed in a house this long before and moved so many times that we havent ever had time to hoard tat but we have done this time and Im clearing it all out Yay.

 

after all this lifting and moving stuff and clearing out I was shattered, and did a very easy 3 mile jog and thats it for today Im afraid Im being Mrs sensible this week (wow get me lol)

 

and I have to go because a cuppa of lovely tea and chocolate biscuits await me hmmmmmm

Session day today..... but gonna go shopping 1st yes me shopping ha ha probably end up at the sports shop again!

 

I Always wear nike trainers not because theyre Nike but because they dont cause me any problems with my feet so I stick to whats good for me.  I always treat myself to some Nike Id trainers for my marathon....

1st pair left shoe Dylan and right shoe Dylan    

2nd marathon   Sam on the right shoe and Sub 3 on the left well I missed it by 1 min so not doing that again!

 3rd Marathon I have upto 8 letters on each trainer so any Ideas ????? please 

 

Okay what a bum deal I had another session end prematurely I am not sure why these sessions are not going right but I have one or two guesses.....

1 mile warm up

2.5 mile tempo run 6.30 pace stopped at 2.5 should have at least completed 3 miles at the least but I felt so sick I wanted to throw up, so I stopped and couldnt even get going again so just jogged in 1.5 miles.  I either have to eat more as I do eat more for my long runs and I seem to be ok on my long runs.... or Im just getting too stressed out I have had stomach ulcers in the past and my stomach is all over the place at the moment so Im just trying to cope with eating the right foods for this and not go on more medication but if needs must I will take the meds !

 

Not a happy bunny, also fed up I dont take to not being in my routines I like routines and love to keep busy.... I do need to rest up this week but my mind is not letting me.

Well slept better last night, it was broken but got at least 9 hours in so thats good.

 

I went for a mid morning run how nice was that, the sun was out it was a bit damp but not too cold.  Dylan cycled with me it's a usual route fishermans path coast road, by-pass, S'port Road and home.  

I went out really easy to make sure Im okay, and I forgot to stretch last night after such a bad short run I thought Id be okay but no chance there my hammy was stiff, and I could feel my hip too.  The agreement with Dylan was run at his pace he was cycling...I had to pick it up he wanted to cycle at 9min pace this was killing me so I upped it to 8min pace which was good for both of us, although all the way down the by-pass was a breeze urghhh.

 

 Not much to report a couple of oldies walking there dogs and I did have a moment I thought hmmmm we didnt see anyone for ages going down the path through the woods then I saw four men in a line walking towards us,  Knuckle duster at the ready but we were ok, I just said to Dylan pick the pace up for a little while, I didnt like that at all. I run down there all the time and I cant remember the last time I felt that uncomfortable, but I was concerned for Dylan too.... Survived that then as we ran down the by-pass we got to see the helicopter take off at the local small cadet like RAF base Woodvale. Dylan liked that.

Windy today not as windy as last Sunday but still windy phhhhhhttt I Ran early evening as it was going darker Paul cycled with me, which was good although my hammy and hip were real stiff.

 

Some miles were slower than 8 min pace and some faster 7 min pace but it all went okay just the wind made it harder too.

 

10 miles 1hr 17 mins

I havent done much today somewhat not like me, I had a nice sleep in as im off work this week and really enjoyed playing on the xbox 360 with Dylan.  

 

We went out for lunch then home to walk the dogs, we took them to the beach a good 4.5 mile walk and we both really enjoyed it.... we raced up to the top of the biggest sand dune, Dylan had Simba the siberian husky (he is trained to pull on command) so I set you set off first up the sand dune, I shouted HIke HIke (and simba went mad pulling dylan and helping him up the sanddune, I had to pull my dog up the sand dune hes an American Akita name Tyson and weighing in at 13 stone,  hes a big dude but very friendly, I still got to the top 1st LOL (nothing wrong with being competitive now is there! )

Not run yet will update in about 2 hour after my run but I couldnt resist posting this today I took my dogs for a walk as usual with Dylan my son and the cat Z his name is decided to follow us and stay walking how cool is my cat ha ha ha

 

 

 

 

 

Here goes session day, and as agreed off road, this is approx I thought a 3 mile route which I have always done as a test of fitness route its a tough cookie!

1 mile warm up very easy 8.31mins

Start is at Shorrocks, up the trail/sand/mud paths past back of Range High, along the side of the army barracks to the beach over sand dunes only 2 dunes not too bad up the beach to Formby Point then its a long hard slog over 0.49 miles of sand dunes then an uphill road for quarter of a mile and a small 100 metre down to the corner of shorrocks actually 3.39 miles.

 

23mins 6 secs 3.39 miles average over all 7 min pace, although it was very windy today and some of the pace was 6.30/6.20 pace along some paths and along the beach and the 

9min sand dunes pace eats the time up, all in all a good tempo run.

3 miles warm  down 8 min pace through more pine woods and  hills and these were more fun I love running up and down hills at any ok pace its so much fun fun fun LOL

Nearly 50 miles never mind, Walked the dogs today, Dylan was playing with his friends at the village so we walked up to him and back so only about 3 miles but not bad.

 

Lazy day, dylan didnt have a football match although training this morning so we watched the training weather isnt too bad today, but its supposed to be high winds tomorrow great eh just in time for my long run...
