Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced!

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

As a youngster

County Champion for Xcountry and

High Jump

and 1500ms track.

pbs aged 13 yrs old

800ms 2mins 16secs

1500ms 4mins 48 secs

high jump 1metre 53  (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!

Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin.

Top 50 finnisher at 14yrs of age in english nationals Xcountry.

okay I didnt sleep much again Ouch..... and early morning got builders in today to start work on our house urghhhh..... reason for no sleep well it wasnt me for once it was my son he had growing pains poor thing but I NEED MY SLEEP :)

finished work late, so not much time I was seeing my physio early so only had about an hour if that to do a workout!

the gym was busy, Formby High school arrived with my old pe teacher Mrs Williams See see everyone Im not that old well she must be really old now LOL a bus load of school girls, all giggley and not wanting to move a hair outta place oh dear I hope nobody gets on the sweatmill next to me it would be shock horror omg sweaty betty ha ha

It was that warm I resorted to summer clothing on a hot day yes shorts and crop.

My coach is annoyed with me, Its race week so xcountry this Saturday and I should have waited and done my tempo run tomorrow although it wasnt much of a tempo run 2 miles eh! but I was told to do this session this week and my legs felt okay I wanted to do it today so I did as I spit me dummy out LOL !

So easy day Tuesday, strides Wed and good length run,   Thursday short and easy then rest Friday and race Sat xcountry 5miles.

Now It may sound a bit drastic tapering for a xcountry that is only 5 miles long but omg xcountry in this country is hard Sat afternoon I will want to just curl up into a ball and die, its not hard like acheing like a marathon its hard like you have run your guts out proper and your legs ache but you just get so tired within hours honest its not nice well it has been 2 years since I ran xcountry so maybe im being a bit of drama queen he he :)

I warmed up xtrainer so that used time up ahhhh

2mile warm up on the sweatmill and it was a sweatmill today no air con no nothing??? why I dont know but it was hot

2 mile threshold 6.20 pace

jogged for 5 mins

1 mile 6 min pace

then jogged for 1 mile

6 miles thats all I had time for and a 5 min xtrainer warm down and off to see the physio ouch OUCH OUCH physio hurt me lots OUCH.

No pain no Gain

Happy bunny me ol legs are holding out still but only just :-)    = Happy bunny :-)

Sounds like a pretty good workout.

Get some sleep before the race!

Good luck with the remodel.

My two little girls have growing pains all the time. Thank goodness my wife is a light sleeper and doesn't wake me when they cry at night. Nice training today. As structured as your training you must have a personal coach. Lucky you.

I just noticed your title, that is how long my first loop took. I'm shooting for 10 the second time around.

You definitely need your sleep for the race. I also believe it's wise to taper for a 5 mile race. You want your legs to be fresh.

Great workout. What remodeling are you having done on your house?

Nice new picture by the way.

LOL at the old PE teacher! Good luck with the XC race! Is it real XC with lots of mud or a nice course like the Nationals etc?

From Sandy Dune-Howard on Tue, Nov 24, 2009 at 06:03:24 from 78.32.130.9

Lyman, yes its always me thats get up to Dylan too funny that LOL.

Adam- thanks and yeah the kitchen is the re-model not sure why we are getting a new kitchen but Paul wanted it or is it for this huge tv he has just bought for the kitchen ha ha anyways, its all be designed to make my life easier too which is good for my running LOL not that Im obsessed and addicted to it at all. You mean you have done the around the world in 12 years how cool is that ! :)

Kory- Thanks Yeah that pic is from a holiday in the lake district uk.... we did a huge walk with some friends and loved the holiday it was good clean fresh air. Im hoping to get sleep today herbal sleeping pills are coming out the cupboard Im afraid as I need sleep now :( Oh Kitchen is the re-model !

Barry- yeah I hope the race goes well for you and thanks.

Chris its so funny the PE Teacher came over to me at the end and said you must be fit doing that, I replied very humbly Im trying LOL. and the course will prob be lots of mud as the rain hasnt stopped has it for days no weeks LOL..... course is not too hilly but lots of small hills and by the time all the kids have run the course it will be a mud bath Im sure cheaper than going for a mud bath at a spa though LOL :-)
