Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.
Oct 2007. Did the great north run. ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race). I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...
Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again. So the training was on. I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced! Bath Half 2007 1.26.35 hrs Wilmslow half marathon english champs 1.25.39 18th lady (With piriformis injury ). Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week Track 3000ms 10.45mins hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !
As a youngster County Champion for Xcountry and High Jump and 1500ms track. pbs aged 13 yrs old 800ms 2mins 16secs 1500ms 4mins 48 secs high jump 1metre 53 (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!
Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin. Top 50 finnisher at 14yrs of age in english nationals Xcountry.
Short-Term Running Goals: Complete my 1st Triathlon 1st lady Brinscall ok this was a triathlon with no timed transition i treated it as a training race to see if I like triathlons and I love them.

Good race, very icy underfoot, slightly undulating, not what Id Call Flat running conditions, but flat to me is pancake, to others well could call it flat! 8 weeks since marathon, not done much but base mileage, two weeks ago hit 67 miles for my week, and 1st intervals last week, of only 3 x 1mile with 1mile recovery so nothing huge, hence made up with being only 10 secs off my pb! good base to work off then. shows how fit I am getting, I must remember to read this over the next few months, how much the work pays off.
Went out bit harder than should have, as uphill at the start, and still did a 5.45 min mile, found it hard as usual on mile 5 till end, tried to pick pace up but really tired, must still be the wine in me from Friday works night out weight and cals to come after xmas holiday!

feel like doing 20 to clear my head stick to 10-12 miles hey base mileage again Ok, Did 14.6 miles in the end, felt more like 15/16 miles, found this hard after a 10 yesterday, not sure why, maybe cos I ran in the dark, I hate running in the dark, you have to be so careful not to trip up, My friend cycled with me, so we went down some paths and stuff, to brake up the roads maybe that wasnt a good idea although the bike light was more than enough to see! Friend cycled with me again so not all bad. slept really well last night, must have been all the miles I put in last 2 days, Ive done 26 miles. 33 inc today,so far this week!, & Work is extremley busy. Had my holiday injections today, Nurse said Id be tired and maybe sore, my arms are really sore, 1 injection in each, and feel really tired.

Hoping to do 8 miles today, but got dentist, so we will see, and arms are really sore now! Slept well last night though,must have been the injections and hard training!
Was hard running, felt really tired, and heavy, did 30 mins xtrainer then an 8 mile run with a friend. probably wont sleep tonight, got a thoery test tomorrow! and a flight for my holidays :-)

| did a good early run, 13.4 miles hard, good run, very hot here, but found a decent stretch of road, 6.7 miles long, and turned back, so out and back run, not loads of fund, bet really flat, slight breeze, but was nice to cool me down. although humidity is at 47% so hard going with that.
1hr33 mins, so not bad for a training run, pb for a half marathon is 1hr 26 not in hot weather.

| Doubled two days for training, not an easy day today, but 3 miles out and 3miles back tempo pace, found this hard after 14 yesterday last 3 miles 6.20 6.15 6.25 not bad, as I base my tempo runs at 6.30 pace, then increase the mileage, 1 mile increase every 2/3 weeks, so this is the base of this session to come I usually increase it right upto 9-10 miles at this same pace over the months.

| thought Id put a last long run in for the year, ran in the afternoon rather than the early morning, though I wished I had run in the morning in the cooler of the day, god it was hot today and the humidity, could have rung me clothes out after not nice! so 14 miles out and back, 1.45 hrs, not bad for the weather, and being a slow long run, remember got to do long runs slow! I do struggle with that sometimes. Did find this hard, legs felt good at first then heavy after 8 miles, so the previous weeks mileage is taking its toll, although I am traveling back tomorrow to the uk, so a few days off will do me good.
