Fun race this morning! Went up not expecting any great shakes with my lack of training for the last couple weeks. But I ended up winning and getting a pretty quick time! Took off with some of the slower fast guys and just settled into a nice, fast cruising pace down the canyon. Didn't wear a watch but a volunteer yelled out our first mile splits - 5:42. Average for the race was 5:41, so I think I stayed pretty consistent throughout. As an added bonus I was around 8th overall, including boys. Felt strong and happy the whole race, it was great! Way to go Ruth. Nice first season this year -- can't wait to see what you do as a SOPH next year! Are you planning on running the steeple or 5K next year?

I hope your first year of classes went well too!

Have a good summer.

I thought you were feeling out of shape? You were really just tapering for the big race!

Bonnie - Thanks! I'll probably do both again next year... I do like the steeplechase better though. :) And the classes did go well: 3.89 this semester and 3.73 cumulative!

Great choice the steeple is awesome! Remember when we were watching the women versus the men at the steeple pit? Get out there and run like a guy -- don't hesitate and blast your way through the water pit you will kick a bunch I am sure!!

Good for you on the classes! See you next year in Tucson - next time you have to try an Eggees.
