This was the last day I got to run with Callie. She had a 12 mile run.

My HR was nice and low for all the miles I ran with her and rose expectantly on the three faster miles.

Came within about 6" of stepping on the happy and very alive owner of these nice little rattles this morning while running!

I Stopped and hit him with a rock and that's when he came at me with his fangs snapping. I picked up a stick and let him have it... then accepted my prize. :-)

Well, it doesn't look like I'm going to make it to the BCS marathon this weekend. I'm afraid the weather is going to be too cold and rainy. I'm a little disappointed since I've been training since early July to run a marathon. I felt like I might really be ready to set the bar much higher with a really fast PR. The good thing is that I've gone through all of this training without any health issues so hopefully I can jump into my Boston training with a very good base.

Today's run was .... well, just a run.

I should have raced yesterday! :-( The weather actually turned out good for racing but I had aleady made up my mind not to do it.

Now, for the next few weeks I guess I'm in limbo-land waiting to start my Boston training. I had no plan for today's run but I can tell you my legs felt great! I pretty much just cruised throught the run without much effort throughout. I did, for the first time, almost get hit by a car. I was making a left hand turn just as a car was making a right hand turn towards me. It was foggy and I was completly off the pavement, even off of the gravel, on the grass edge. The car cut the corner so sharp it was in the gravel. The driver must have seen me at the last minute and swerved to the left completly missing the turn. I kept running and the car just sat there for a couple of minutes before it backed up and then made the turn. I had my flashy lights on and my flashlight shining.

30 degrees, 56% humidity, 30 degree dew point and nice heavy socks and gloves makes a GREAT run! I finally figured out the right amount of clothes to wear. :-)

A little faster than on Monday and felt really good throughout the run. No hard effort or strain at any point. I need to be racing.

I ran the same route today as I did Monday and Wednesday.

Monday = 7:38 Pace, Tuesday = 7:37 Pace, Thursday = 7:16 Pace.

I added the Elevation Gain so you can see the contour of the route I ran.

This pace is starting to feel really good. I just need to be able to take it up a notch an run this for a full marathon.

15 mile run today in the nice cold weather. :-)

I'm not really running under any training plan and just making it up as I go. Today I decided to run 5 under 8:00 then 5 under 7:45 then 5 under 7:30. I really didn't get stressed until the last mile when I pushed it to try and get under 7. The last half mile I was feeling a little clunky.

10 Mile around the Big Loop @ what I wish was marathon pace. I'm getting pretty comfortable with these 10-15 mile runs at around 7:30-40 pace. I think the weather has a lot to do with it though. :-)

This was interesting, I ran the same exact run as yesterday and found out for 302 less beats of my heart over the 10 mile run, I lost an average of 3 seconds per mile. :-) The weather conditions were exactly the same, the only difference is I felt a little tired today.

I didn't break 7:00 on the last mile today but my last two combined were better than yesterday.

All I can think about when I run like this is how tire I feel and how bored I am and why am I doing this. I don't know what it is about this LHR stuff but it just drive me nuts.

Same run today as last Sunday. I thought I'd see if I could do 5 @ 7:45, 5 @ 7:30 then 5 @ 7:15. The weather was great so that helped. I'm feeling I'm stronger going into this Boston training cycle than I've ever been. Hopefully it will pay big dividend at the end.

Didn't hit any 6's on the last couple of miles but the overall results were better than last week.

Ran 4 with Callie @ 8:13 pace.

Should have been easy but my HR raced to 175 at the first half mile before finally dropping back down to a somewhat normal rate.

Running 9-10 in the morning very catiously.

Left my Garmin at work on Friday so I ran without it today. I just used my everyday sports watch so I only have overall time. Right at 2:00:00 for 15 miles (8:00 Pace). Not as good as the last couple of weeks but okay after have the flu all this week.

I guess I really need to start my Boston training this week. I'm really not excited about starting a defined regiment of training. :-(

To the gym for some easy work and upper body weights.

Matthew 7:13-14

“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

I forgot to bring my Garmin home from work again so I only have overall time for the 10 miles. Nice and easy pace @ 8:09 Pace (no HR monitor).

I got this for Christmas! :-)
