Today at track practice we had a speed workout. We started out with a mile warmup with a mile of speed changes, then after the speed changes we did some stretching. We then started the speed workout. We did a 400, 800, 1200 meter timed. My 400 time was around 80 seconds which is pretty slow for now but it was OK. My 800 meter was 3:03 minutes which is a 6:06 mile which is way slow but its the start of the season and we werent pushing these. I wasnt even tired after these. The workout was mainly to run hard with good form and not to worry about the time. My 1200 time was 5:12 which is way slow but again we werent pushing these hard. After those I was at 3 3/4 miles so I decided to do a 1 1/4 mile cool down to get an even 5 for today. My knee was yesterday during the 8 miler but when I started to run it didnt hurt at all today. |
